@Mrsirflexalotta A succesful clean and jerk requires that the barbell is brought to a complete standstill between the clean and the jerk when it rests on the weightlifter's shoulders. There shouldn't be any motion of the barbell...
@BaumerPaulGefreiter They are clearly all good lifts. If you're strong enough to kick the barbell off your shoulders after a clean, use the oscillation. If you get white lights it's good. And no he doesn't always do it; see the 225kg C&J @ 2007 WWC.
Too bad he was busted for smoking weeds in 2010 and suspended for six month. Although smoking weeds is not considered a sport enhancement drug and has virtually no effect on his record, nevertheless it will be an asterisk on his career. He is a great athlete but before dupping the best of all times, you should know that Nicu Vlad snatched 200.5 at 100 KG and Alexander popov 242.5 clean and jerk at 100 KG and Yuri Zaghravetch 440 KF total at 100 KG. So the 100 KG records are better than the 105.
@BrentstyleVibes My understanding when he won the 2010 European championship he was tested for a substance and was suspended for six months. They have not disclosed what the substance was, but later Aramnau mentioned they told him he was tested for traces of Cannabis, the medical term for Marijuana. Judjing by the length of the suspension, that would be true. If he was tested for steroids, he would have been suspended for two to four years.

Very instructive showing differences in build to bodybuilders they look stronger but decisively are not. He seems to have great amount of "nerve strength" resulting in capability way beyond that suggested by appearance. In fact, a physiological marvel. A better specimen of athleticism than anyone from football, baseball, etc.
3:54 when he completes the clean and the bar flies up above his chest about another 5 inches before resting on his shoulders in prep for the jerk is the definition of power!
@robbush182 Yeah he's really fast getting up from the bottom squat position, but I have wondered, isn't using the bar elasticity against the rules? He clearly does it on purpose and times the jerk when the bar momentum is coming up. Don't get me wrong, I think it is just plain beautiful and takes some skill, but yet again, do I just remember the rules incorrectly?
@epaluoma, when he starts jerking the bar is not oscillate. When he squats down under the bar a little bit faster than it falls and then he meets it, holds that position until the bar starts rising and pushes it further.
Aramnau is definately a quality lifter but he will have to emulate the feats of Suleymanoglu (Turkey), Dimas (Greece), Kackishvalli (George) and Mutlu (Turkey) and win three consecutive Olympic gold medals in weightlifting if he is to ever be considered truelly great.
@bejjeagle Hold on, I think Nicu Vlad did 200.5 weighing 99.5 kg, check it out on Google. I lkie Zak for the 215 snatch everyone "knows" he could have done when he did the 210, it was too easy.

but I sorta agree when ppl lift these kinga weights so easily something doesn't look legit, the 200 snatch was too easy, same with the 236 c&j same with rezazedeh he always cleans like its nothing, something aint right
Pretty much every good lifter uses roids. Razazedeh, Naim, Dimas, this guy. But like you said. Whatever it takes to win. The roids dont take away from the brutal training these guys do to get to where they are
If you think this was "easy" for him you're an idiot. Yes, the best make it look easy because it happens so fast, but watch the video again and take a look at his face when he's standing up with 200kg locked out overhead and then try and tell me it was "too easy". There is nothing "easy" about what these incredible athletes do, steroids or no.
Actually bejjeagle theres a very good chance he did get busted. He was caught driving drunk in Belarus after the olympics and was suspended for 2 years. But lets face it, you dont get suspended for that long just cause you were drunk, there had to be something more to it
maybe roids maybe not, alot of european countries give there lifters stuff that is undetectable, all about winning at the end of the day for the countries sake
Anyone remember the great Bulgarian lifter Valentin Christov? Aramnau reminds me of him. I think Christov was a 110 kg. (242 lbs.), won a championship or two. Very calm, cool, collected, speed and power to burn.
Notice his second snatch. His speed at getting under the bar is terrifying.
Aramnau is this soft looking kid with the face of a 10 yr old, yet his strength goes beyond what most people could even dream of having. The power he generates is almost not human.
Do video with Chigishev with like some badass music. He was first SHW to hit 2x bodyweight clean and jerk! Or just more videos in general these are great to watch before working out.
He's like the shortest 105 guy too, at around 5ft 8in / 173 cm. The Russians that took 2nd and 3rd were both around 6 ft. I guess being short gives you a biomechanical advantage, provided you can build enough muscle on the frame.
dude look at him he is not that muscular compared to the two russians who are well built. Yet he makes them look like little girls. He is just ridiculous, you can tell he has A LOT more in him also.
Agreed. Just did a google image search, and he has like the widest torso I've ever seen. He probably just bulked up with some extra fat to get close to the 105 kilo limit when he moved up from the 94's. I can't wait to see the weights he will be able to hit once he becomes even more muscular.
