George is one of a kind. He lives for singing and playing on the guitar. He would be lost without it. As the train station would be lost without the sound of George playin' them chords. Great song.
I love this song. I'm a locomotive engineer for the ONR and I've driven that train myself. We see george almost every day in the summer playing guitar for the tourists. A friend of mine (also and engineer) stumbled across it and told me to check it out. I'm glad I did
I love this Song! I was part of one of the Katimavik group last year and we all miss Moosonee. A big part of our best souvenirs are there. I hope that I could go back soon.
Great song Don! I listen to George everyday at the train station during the summer months. I'm the Agent there, when George first approached me about "busking" at the station I was hands down all for it and the rest is history. =)
Thanks so much for your comment...appreciated. I hope to get to Moosonee this June for your trade show. Just recording another CD with more Northern Ontario tunes...as soon as it'done I'll send a copy over to your radio station.
Hi and thanks for your comment...I really liked his music too...CBC Radio in Sudbury have this song in their music library and will play it upon request I believe...
I can't tell you how surprised and joyed I was to see and hear this video. I was born in Moosonee and George is my uncle. George never goes anywhere without his guitar and I know he'd be ectstatic to know that he and his music in turn inspired someone else.
Hi,Thanks so much for your kind comment...I really enjoyed writing this song and always tell the story about your uncle when I perform it...I just uploaded a video in which I talk about the inspiration - it's now available to view on my channel.Your uncle is a special person!
i wonder how my childhood sweetheart is doing from long ago in Moses River.
