@Maruceroooo What is that guy teaching you? Boku is mainly used by men and tomboys, and girls if they are singers and need to condense the syllables. Not restricted whether or not you're a child.

Watashi is universal, but since girls don't have a specific way of speaking of themselves that apply to their gender it is seen as somewhat feminine.

Atashi wa is romaji of 'I' and then a particle (like is/am), without the 'W'. Basically it's a misspelling of I Am, with no real gender difference.

@DirEnGay thats not correct. men say "boku", and women say "watashi". thats both "I". "wa" is like "now-this-is-a-verb-couse-i-pu­t-a-'wa'". meaning putting wa after boku or watashi translates to "I am", roughly.

so, girls would say "Watashi wa" and men would say "Boku wa"

that still doesn't mean Atashiwa (the player) is a woman. IMO that's hardly probable
