I am so saddened to anounce Alan Speegish has died his final death.Unfortunately...he was murdered by S5P just after his latest reanimation. No one liked him.The sadness will last forever.
yep. this is a perfect vehicle for her voice. she puts just the right decoration on the right places. love the big soaring swooning notes at the peak. she lets them bloom out beautifully. doesn't make this too huge (celine would throttle a song like this). quietly tragic and resigned; i love singers with brains!
I came close not listening to this, but I am glad I did. It is nice to know that someone cherished this song as I do, and had the love to interpret it her own way.

I'm going through a sort of Todd Rundgren mania phase at the moment, but pound for pound, I'd have to say this takes the prize of the two you tube versions. There again, I've yet to here Todd's 'Acapella' album version. Just to balance the equation though, I had the privelige of seeing Todd live in Norwich recently. Check the videos. The best gig I've ever been to
Very nice version. Todd Rundgren is an absolute genius. Its a term that gets thrown around a lot, but in his case it's accurate. Just listen to this song if you need proof !
Oh Lord, where to start. One of the prettiest songs ever (Todd Rundgren) arranged perfectly and sung by one of the best vocalists ever (Jennifer Warnes).... rarely in life does it all come together like this.... rarely. This is just amazing..... thanks for posting it. For those that are lucky to have a CD of The Hunter... enjoy. One of the best CD's ever. Thanks.
You are correct, DeviousMofo. I appologize for leaving Todd Rundgren's name off the credits. At the time I made this video, I had no idea he wrote this song. I thought Jennifer Warnes did.

@lorinswelk: God I love how she manages the dynamics of the last verse. No kidding. She swoons, she weeps, I love this cover.

She has such a gorgeous voice. I love Todd, but I have to say I like J.W.'s version better. I also like her Southern(?)accent.

By Todd Rundgren, please. This could be easily corrected. I do love this rendition however.

I remember this song from my childhood.
My mom listened to jennifer warnes endlessly.
Is this her song or Todd Rundgren?

Todd wrote it. I should have given him his due on the credits. I apologize. Keyzmo
