@barsense It's only fair debt relief is given to those on Social Security and low wage jobs since they are pretty much forced to take credit cards to pay increases in rent, groceries, stay in the loop with computers, thus, information, and get best prices to compensate for their low incomes.
There's no programs for them to reduce their debt load to manageable payments! My rates were zipped up, along with prices for basic needs! My landlord took all my Social Security increases!

You are on the wrong track and have unrealistic expectations and will never be satisified because you seem to not realize that the President can not pass bills, congress has to pass bills and the pres can only sign or veto.

@questmoo I agree with you about Pelosi and I hope she get's re-elected she has done an amazing job getting the democrats on board with bills to get them passed but she also had to agrtee to drop the public option in order to get the votes she needed to pass the healthcare reform bill. What I think you do not understand is this is the first step towards expanding and going to a public option, the right knows it and that is why they are fighting it so hard.
@questmoo I really do understand where you are coming from and your frustration but I am just being realistic, there have been too many times when pushing too hard too fast has left us completely empty handed with nothing to show for it. @barsense Look Clinton pushed hard and refused to accept less on healthcare reform and it set us back another 10 years till we finally did get reform , if Obama had done the same we would again have wound up with nothing and another for no telling how many years. There are likely millions upon millions that are unlucky, working outside of their field of study! Millions are with degrees, stuck in college, or going back to college because those jobs went overseas, or are being victims of a down economy! If you're lucky enough to work in a industry that has a high demand market you're likely to become a snob because you're too dumb to realize people working in lower demand markets are working just as hard as you are.
There's only so many places at the top and they are not always filled by our best and brightest! Discrimination of race, kin, religion, beauty, and such are real in the equation of who gets the job and who doesn't! An awful lot of people are born into discrimination, destined to get very low quality education and struggle through college with a C average. What is that worth in any field?! Dime a dozen. It's hard times because we didn't build a better system!
All I'm saying is that the system needs to be tweaked so the less fortunate have enough for their basic needs and $1000 left at the end of the month to take advantage of further education for upward mobility! FULL EMPLOYMENT IS THE WAY! This will energize the nation by making the American dream possible for everyone!

They stop short of addressing public debt! Could be fear of the banks.
There is no quick recovery because no one wants to put forth a debt relief package to solve public debt! The banks caused it and they should eat it! Public debt is the real key to ending this recession overnight! The huge public debt is why the banks are not lending enough, because they don't see the potential spending! Without spenders, the banks don't see getting loans repaid!
It's hypocrisy because the banks are FAT WITH DEBT PROFITS being paid to them and LOANING TAX FUNDS AT 0% AND AVERAGING UPWARD OF 16% PROFITS on that money!
Granted, there are other areas costing us economic stability and are necessary to be addressed along with public debt to END THE RECESSION OVERNIGHT!

My thought was that he'd raise taxes on the rich and provide a lower quality of health care for those who couldn't afford private insurance for health care. That's the other better Option than Obamacare since we didn't get the option that controlled cost with competition like the Public Option. No one wants to be forced to pay for insurance that has no cost control and may be more than you can afford.

Thank God for people like Martin Luther King, Jr & other civil rights leaders who had the fortitude & stick-toidness to understand that change not only takes time, it requires patience & civility to get things done. The Civil Rights Act was passed in 1964 but it didn't solve ALL of the problems.

Currently smart people with the income are investing the vast expanding overseas markets because in comparison the market here in America is already saturated. Top income tax cuts no longer work to stimilate the economy here it just stimilates economies overseas. @barsense The old bankruptcy laws prevented lenders from over lending! That's how we got into this mess! People were not expecting lenders to put soo much money in circulation that the money they got on credit cards was going to have interest rates zipped up on them significantly. @barsense It's only fair debt relief is given to those on Social Security and low wage jobs since they are pretty much forced to take credit cards to pay increases in rent, groceries, stay in the loop with computers, thus, information, and get best prices to compensate for their low incomes.
There's no programs for them to reduce their debt load to manageable payments! My rates were zipped up, along with prices for basic needs! My landlord took all my Social Security increases!

It takes a majority VOTE in congress to get it passed and to date that has not happened. There are likely millions upon millions that are unlucky, working outside of their field of study! Millions are with degrees, stuck in college, or going back to college because those jobs went overseas, or are being victims of a down economy! If you're lucky enough to work in a industry that has a high demand market you're likely to become a snob because you're too dumb to realize people working in lower demand markets are working just as hard as you are.

Discrimination of race, kin, religion, beauty, and such are real in the equation of who gets the job and who doesn't! An awful lot of people are born into discrimination, destined to get very low quality education and struggle through college with a C average. What is that worth in any field?! Dime a dozen. It's hard times because we didn't build a better system!

America has huge problems that require problem solvers. You don't see Obama's programs having enough effect because they don't go far enough due to politicians on both sides playing for campaign contributions! Obama don't have the balls to veto some stuff and educate the nation. Robert Reich and Nobel economist can give us a better understanding of what we need to do to solve the problem. They stop short of addressing public debt! Could be fear of the banks.

There is no quick recovery because no one wants to put forth a debt relief package to solve public debt! The banks caused it and they should eat it! Public debt is the real key to ending this recession overnight! The huge public debt is why the banks are not lending enough, because they don't see the potential spending! Without spenders, the banks don't see getting loans repaid!

It's hypocrisy because the banks are FAT WITH DEBT PROFITS being paid to them and LOANING TAX FUNDS AT 0% AND AVERAGING UPWARD OF 16% PROFITS on that money!
Granted, there are other areas costing us economic stability and are necessary to be addressed along with public debt to END THE RECESSION OVERNIGHT!

@questmoo Regardless of the emotions behind the argument, America is NOT ready to fully embrace universal health care. That was obvious, during the campaign. Many liberals wasted months bashing the Democratic Party & the POTUS b/c they were not pursuing universal healthcare. Yet, that was NEVER part of the Democratic platform in the first place. That wasted time created a lot of negative displaced energy. Conservative Democrats fell to the wayside & refusd to even supporting a public option!

@manyara02 I'm certain universal healthcare was an Obama campaign promise. My thought was that he'd raise taxes on the rich and provide a lower quality of health care for those who couldn't afford private insurance for health care. That's the other better Option than Obamacare since we didn't get the option that controlled cost with competition like the Public Option. No one wants to be forced to pay for insurance that has no cost control and may be more than you can afford.

@questmoo No, President Obama NEVER ran on single payer.He always std that if we were starting from scratch, he would be supportive of universal health care.However, he stated since we're not he was supportive of making health care affordable to all.He NEVER pushed for universal health care.The leadership never wanted to discuss single payer b/c it wld divide the country. It was the liberals who gave the Republican's a gift wrapped basket when they interjected "single payer" in2 the discussion.

@questmoo This kind of thinking is why progressive pieces of legislation haven't been passed in many, many years prior to 2010. It's the ALL or nothing approach. Legislation can b tweaked over time. Thank God for people like Martin Luther King, Jr & other civil rights leaders who had the fortitude & stick-toidness to understand that change not only takes time, it requires patience & civility to get things done. The Civil Rights Act was passed in 1964 but it didn't solve ALL of the problems.

@questmoo The following year in 1965, Congress passed the Fair Housing Act which when combined with the Civil Rights Act strengthened the prospects of equality in our country. People who are shortsighted NEVER get what they want b/c they only see what's in front of them. If progressives want progress they MUST have not only the patience but the fortitude & strength to ensure progress is made.Being negative, complacent & depressive only gives the other side EXACTLY what they wanted & counted on!

Since then, the Fair Housing Act has been tweaked with amendments to the Act new complaints surfaced.Perfection is & has never been found in any piece of legislation. @questmoo What?The House passed the bill in November 2009 & it included a public option.The Senate bill was passed in Dec 2009 but without a public option.So, the VOTES were not there! Even more changes were made while in the Senate. Ben Nelson (D) threatened to filibuster with the Republicans if higher Medicare reimbursement payments were not made to his state, Nebraska & ONLY after these changes were made did the bill pass the Senate. The House accepted its changes b/c the votes weren't there!
