It is true that Keith Chegwin was in Kenny, but there's no mention of him in any of their credits. perhaps they were jealous he got a job on Swap Shop, ha!
In the 70's and 80's pop culture and youth culture was centre stage. It was something people experienced collectively as there were fewer T.V. channels and everyone watched Top of the Pops. Now nobody knows who is number one (at least I don't) and today's music is boring. Nothing of interest has happened since the mid 90's and even X factor winners vanish after one hit.
Hi Metal - My mum used to say that back in the 70s. She still dances to Glen Miller and Frank Sinatra - oh and the Bay City Rollers. But really, like today, most of it is **it.
Rumour had it the first Kenny hits were recorded by professional studio musicians, the shown band members only performing later on stage. Nevertheless, words and music by Bill Martin and Phil Coulter were really great.
Today ( May 1st) is Rick's (vocal) Birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Rick!! I want to hear you singing more! Excellent!! I hope the following year will be another wonderful one.
March 14th is Chris's (bass) birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Chris!! Nice voice! Do you still continue playing the music with Andy? I wish you many happy returns!
Ich sehe mich heute noch mit dem Mikrofon vor dem Radio knien, um diese Mucke auf Kassette aufzunehmen; an der Tür klebte der Zettel "Ruhe, Aufnahme", meine Güte, was für eine Zeit
put this in it's context, par for the course in the mid 70's (she's a rocker, she's a shocker etc.) heart of stone was by kenny but before this lot carried on the name. h o s was sung by a chap called tony kenny. he followed it up with a song called give it to me now. both on the rak label as were these. seems like micky most hoofed out poor old tony kenny (a butcher's boy as i recall) but kept the name for this lot.
Yeah well it happened mate, that`s how it was.Pop shit like this continued until new wave took over after The Sex Pistols burst on the British rock scene in 1976.And it got much better from then on.
Well I have a copy of the old single Red Headed Lady and it's signed by Chris the Oguy on the organ. Not that it was hard to get his autograph on the single .... as he is my brother !! :-)
I saw your brother's website! Does he play the keyboards at home recently? (What kind of music does he play?) Who is his favorite artist? Please tell himHappy Birthday!" (Sorry, bit late...)
which website you referring to? the holiday flats one? or some other. He's done a few! When you see groups playing songs, because the music is so easy you see people like my brother playing the organ with one finger, and occasionally even a few at the same time!! Everyone normally assumes this is all they can do. It's true that pretty much anyone can join a band and play an instrument. Thing is with Chris is that before this he was already a classical pianist. He plays a lot of classical at home
Thank you for your reply. I saw "Holiday flats" website. I knew that he began classical piano lessons at a very young age. ( I am not good at English...) I understand that he is a good player because I can also play the piano. I knew that his favorite artists were Rod Stewart & Faces ( etc...) at that time. I think they (members of The Kenny) have a lot of talented in music!

It's great FUN pop!
The way I look at it, I'm still listening to the glam/pop bands of the early 70's 35+ years later!
How many of today's kids will still be listening to the garbage that is being forced on them today in the future?
