  • I tried to read it, but i got bored after the third page :/

  • This is really is an amazing story, the whole book is perfectly tied together and I really cfelt like. I was standing right in the middle of the street when scout and jem were attacked :)

  • im reading this book right now for my summer homework and i realy injoied it and actualy liked it.....great book

  • Lmfaooo we get it, it touches you on a personal level.. xDD but thank you mister!(:

  • I am only thirteen years old and i read the book on my own time, not for school or anything. I read it because it was considered a classic and i ended up really liking it. i agree with what this guy says and it is my favorite book. i like the part when scout says "i never loved to read, until i feared i would lose it.one does not love breathing."

  • I love the ending of the book so much.

  • this is pretty good. it was pretty touching to me as well.

  • thanks sir

    your the best :D

  • you said ''you know'' about 15 times :p

but thanks really helped, i have to read it for my GCSEs so :)

  • @sotfnepal Ha Ha, Yes, I never script or edit any of my book reviews, so I end up repeating myself a lot. But I like doing the review so it seems like I am right there telling you about the book. I am really glad it helped!

  • Just got done reading this book, it was amazing and very powerful. Great review!

  • I am reading this book right now its an OK book.

  • hmm i am doing this for school this works charms thanks for the good review o.o rly looking forward to reading this ^^

  • People have no minds banning that book!

  • @TranceFamily1 The book is banned due to racial slurs, but it was for the time period.

  • SCHOOL'S BANNED THAT BOOK?!?! RACISTS!!!!

  • @daisyhinojosa23 no they didnt band it. im reading it now for school

  • To Kill A Mockingbird is one of the best books ever written in my opinion. I've seen the movie and it was okay too.

  • If I liked "Of Mice and Men" would I like this?

I've seen the movie and enjoyed it too (To Kill a Mockingbird)

  • this sucks. i was so exited to read this book in 7th grade because everybody says it was banned from eveywhere and every school but there was basically NOTHING. schools shouldnt make younger students read a book by enticing them with promises of vulgarity. I appreciate it more now though.

  • I had to read this book for my English GCSE, and absolutely loved it-it's so hard to just place it in a box as a story about racism, because there are so many other little narrative threads, themes and storylines. Plus Atticus beats Mr Darcy as a literary hero any day (and I REALLY love Mr Darcy lol).

  • nerdddd

  • that was a good book not i didnt even read it

  • the best cat name evar

  • this book is retarded i wanted to jump off a building while reading it

  • my favourite part of this book is when scout is trying to define what fine folk are, and she says "there is only one kind of folk, and that is folk"

  • wut is the book about

  • mostly about racism against blacks and how different people have diffrent views about how they look at blacks. One of the quotes said in the book was "a half white, half black person has no purpose in life because he cant fit in." You cant really describe the book because the book makes you see different views of how you look at it. Mattering what charecter's view you like the most is what the book is about.

  • I definitely agree with the "tending not to like books they make you read in highschool" thing. (The only book I actually enjoyed reading in HS was Lord Of The Flies. I kept reading ahead and pretty much breezed all the tests for it.) I had to read this one in HS, too, and didn't particularly care for it, but I saw it in a store some ten years later and read the first page and it immediately captivated me that time. So I ended up buying it and I love it now. Read it 4 or 5 times.

  • I read this book becouse i was thinking that this is description how to kill a mockingbird so i was very hope-sick!!!!!!!

  • a must read to the whole world...

  • It was a bad decision for me to watch this video since I'm in the last two chapters and now know the ending. I saw it coming, but couldn't bring myself to hit pause. :D

  • why didnt you finish the last two chapters before you watched this video? I think the last two chapters are like 3 pages each or something.

  • lol African-American Gentleman.

  • lol, well don't call me white and I won't call someone black. We aren't black or white, more like burnt umber and tan...or peachy...lol

  • exactly there are no BLACK people nor WHITE people

  • @fredo69 really ur coo

  • This book is definitely in my top 5

  • its in everyones.

  • I read this book in high school and I thought it was okay. Now, I teach it in high school (I've read it five times and I'm reading it to my class this week). Part one of the novel is slow, but my kids (and I) really get into part two when the trial of Tom Robinson comes in and Aunt Alexandra tries to teach Scout to become a lady (and Scout gets sassy with her). As Davesghola said, if you read it in high school check it out again. It really is a worth while read.

  • Wow. I'm just starting to read this for my GCSEs, so far it's great. Nice review. :) I hope it lives up to all the positive reviews I've heard.

  • It will.

  • Right then, I finished reading it a few nights ago and thought that I should come back and say:

This has to be the best book I have read. Probably means I have to read more books, but I absolutely loved it.

  • Favourite part was Scout telling Uncle Jack that he didn't know anything about children, that part brought a tear.

  • only 423 views!!

  • yeah, after 7 months I was expecting more, but whatever, I am just happy that the people who have viewed it like it.

  • im doing it right now

  • can u tell me who did that African American guy get killed by plzzz

  • He was killed when he was trying to escape the prison he was put in. I don't think they even said who did it, the guards I think. It was something that was mentioned to the characters in the book near the end.

  • Great review. I loved the book in school and have been wanting to read it again. Very interesting points to note, Dill, the neighbour of Scout was based on Truman Capote, lifelong friend of Harper Lee. Also, if you haven't seen the 1962 film with Gregory Peck, it's well worth it - probably his finest hour, playing my favourite character name of all time - Atticus Finch. Also worth a mention is that the film was Robert Duvall's first film acting role as Boo Radley.

  • omg i had to read this last year in highschool and personally i hated this book. i found the events(if you can even call them that) were extremly boring and dull. How ever i do believe that you have to want to read somthing to really enjoy it so i imagine in a few years time i will go back for a secound read

  • You have to remember that it was written over 50 years ago, and it was more just trying to make a point than to be entertaining, but I totally understand. I didn't really like the book the first time I read it in high school too. Give it another shot in 5 years.

  • Thanks a lot for the review. Nice one, and you have a cute cat :D
