I was cringing when I watched you use that grinder without gloves D: My grandfather had an accident while using a bench grinder and took a nice chunk of a couple of his fingers out. I'm kinda anal about safety now :/ You'd be surprised how much work gloves can actually protect your hands when you use a grinder. :P Just a small piece of advice.

pins, you should hear a very very faint click or well you will know when you hear it, the more pressure you put on the tension wrench the more angered you will get causing you to put more pressure on the wrench. lightly press against the wrench and if you don't hear or feel the click than slightly let off the wrench.

Use bobby pins. Thicker ones if you can manage. They are just thick enough to grind down into a pick shape (if you want, but you can actually use them as is), and if you snip them right, you can make a tension wrench, too.
