i had a 1st gen integra with cheap intake,DC sport header,2.25inch exhaust pipe with magnaflow muffler and it was ok except the engine kept blowing up due to the crankshaft i rebuilt it twice and still kept blowing up after a few races so i would never think if getting a 1st gen integra dont reccomend!!!!!
D16a1 is a great engine platform, especially in the g1 chassis. You obviously didn't properly prepare your engine to withstand racing. I've had two g1 integras, both I redline daily, and they have never blown. Very few engine problems with either...one has over 210k..
Exactly. I own a 90 240sx, that car is sheer fun. I owned an 85 AE86.. those cars are overrated. I thought it was too slow and too short for a novice to drift in. The 240sx, responds to every move, and the styling makes newer car owners stare. lol

@lunmaster1 i have a 1989 1st gen teg i freakin love my car it will go to the grave with me i have 4800 in my car mainly suspension work full koni adjustable shocks with ground controll lowering springs its a d16a1 with zc head and internals lsd tranny full buddy club exhaust blox rear sway bar and toe hooks slammed on white rota slip streams omg lol its my baby its nice to see people still appriciate the rareness of these cars its almost impossible to get parts for them at any parts store

Yeah, it's really a major problem with all 80ies Hondas.
You couldn't kill the engine in a million years, but it's body was unfortunatly not able to survive the hard years of corrossion...
90ies Honda's have a much better painting and have a frame made out of a better quality of steel.
But they also lack the mystique their 80ies ascendents had.
