In the Marvel comics, Shockwave ousted Megatron and took over as leader, which would have made for a much more interesting storyline, especially as it would mirror Optimus and Sentinel. Shockwave is supposed to be the master of logic, not some worm-riding non-entity. "Ultimately, I serve only one master...PURE LOGIC." Marvel comics Shockwave is canon; his tech specs bio is the character in the Marvel US and UK comics.

In my optics, Shockwave should have betrayed Megs by choosing to go with Sentinel as his second in command. Because of Megatron's defeats in the past at the hands of Optimus, Shockwave would judge that Sentinel was the "logical choice" to ensure the survival of Cybertron. I could've imagine a scene where Sentinel says hes the new leader, Megs disagrees and then Shockwave shoots Megatron, hurting him badly.

each movie had its main enemy T1 was megatron, T2 was fallen and in T3 unfortunately it was sentinel not shokwave : / i agree he should've got a more important roll in the movie.

In the next movie trilogy -because I guarantee there will be one- the Decepticons ought to be portrayed as an alliance of warlords serving under a common flag, each "faction" led by one of the main Decepticon leaders, Starscream and his Seekers and Megatron with Soundwave at his side, etc. Megatron would be immensely powerful, and rightfully so, but also outdated and linear in his thinking, with the Decepticons suffering for it. Enter Shockwave, "humble scientist" and usurper to the throne.

But that of course is a ruse: Knowing full well that Megatron is running a losing campaign, Shockwave allies himself with Bludgeon and Starscream, and assassinate Megatron, forcing Soundwave to follow them as well. But unbeknownst to the very competent new leader Shockwave, Megatron wasn't really Megatron- he and Soundwave staged his death via a drone. Inb4 Chekhov's Gun.

@OverlordLS This is the sort of thing Bay should have done with the 'Con's. In the his Trilogy, they were just "bad guy fodder" for the Autobots. The Decepticons have just as many fans as the Autobots, and their characters are just as worthy of being realized on the big screen. Dark of the Moon was a good standalone movie, but with how it treated its characters? Inexcusable. Bay squandered amazing opportunities. People went to see these movies for the fucking robots, not the boy and his car.

There's a few things about Shockwave that made me wonder. If Michale Bay was planning to gime him so much attention, why did he ditch Shockwave like this? Also Bay gave Shockwave a sword, but he never uses it. Why? Also Shockwave dosen't get to kill anyone. Why Michael, why? Also the toy has a vehicle mode, but Shockwave never transforms. And the Driller gets to do everything. Seriously Michael Bay you could have made more effort with Shockwave. Yhumbs up if you agree.

Like, I understand why he had to die, but at least make him memorable. Dont get his eye caught in a human parachute and make him look weak cuz of that. I mean, optimus is supposed to be scared of him. But you have to give bay...it took a bunch of humans, half a dozen autobots, and optimus in his super flight mode to kill him. Which is more than can be said for sentinel, megaton, or the fallen.

Shockwave was one of the hugest letdowns in the 3rd film. Bay said he would be all awesome and more vicious than Megatron, but all he does is intimidate, and gets killed once he's seperated from the Driller. I think Optimus and Shockwave should have been having an epic battle instead of Optimus being caught in some ropes. Fuck you Bay for making Decepticons look so weak.
