  • Very nice bunkai. Nice distance, flow, reactions. nearly identitcal to what we do at the Iha dojo (Shidokan). Keep posting.

  • This is very well done. The practitioner featured is clearly highly skilled. The karate shown is unmistakeably Okinawan, adeptly utilizing kata concepts in a realistic fashion. Thank you for posting this.

  • Unfortunately today what most people see is "Sports" Karate which like you said is a non contact kickboxing form. Karate was developed out of a need to defend oneself in real life and death situation, it was not "play", it was and still is the real deal. Too bad most Karate schools focus on sports competition which is NOT REAL KARATE, and the general public cannot tell the difference.

  • really good vid. Those that say Karate is nothing but punching and yelling should watch this vid. I started off in Karate and now I am studying Hapkido. This vid makes me want to go back to studying karate

  • This looks so much like Southeast Asian martial arts such as Silat. The style is slightly "harder" in execution, but the movements are almost identical.

  • I would like to compliment you on this video, im not really a big karate fan like i used to be and most of the bunkai vids i see are unrealistic, choppy and seperate moves but this is great, fluid with body mechanics that are applicable to real life and really great stuff for karate. As well this speed of training is good for the mind i believe and figuring out new solutions in techniques. good stuff!!

  • Looks cool what kata is this you are doing bunkai for sir?
