FOCA is not freedom in any sense, and in fact violates the freedom to be informed of the risks and alternatives to abortion. I would also like to state that it is illogical to require minors to have parental consent before they can pierce their ears, and yet FOCA would allow them to have a very invasive and possibly dangerous procedure without consent. Not to mention that this procedure is life-altering and many women must fight depression after they have had an abortion.

Churches are legally prohibited from speaking on political matters. If they do,they are subject to having their tax exempt status revoked and might be subject to fines as well. In that sense,it is good if the Obama campaign warned your church to not get political. I know in my church the pastor did not once discuss Obama or any other political candidate and he was right to not do so. It is not legal if you are claiming tax exempt status as a church. It is not hate speech. A person does not have to hate anybody in order to say that people of different races should not marry. They may feel that certain races are inferior to others,that when people marry outside their race it dilutes racial heritages,that interracial marrying makes it less likely that the cultures of different races will be preserved,etc. but it does not automatically mean they hate people of different races. I would also like to state that it is illogical to require minors to have parental consent before they can pierce their ears, and yet FOCA would allow them to have a very invasive and possibly dangerous procedure without consent. You are only right if the people,the Supreme Court,and Congress bow down to this Godless man. I think the Supreme Court will not go along with this kind of abuse of federal power or the executive branch if this godforsaken act manages to get past Congress and lands on Obama's desk to be signed. I really do not see Congress passing this abominable and Godless act and I do not see the Supreme Court uploading this act if it is passed by Congress and signed by Obama. Take care.

I agree. I had a guy come at me in such a wrong way that I ended up not bothering to talk to him. I hope he eventually figures out that insulting people is not the best way to get your points across or convince anyone of anything. I do not argue with or talk with hostile people like that. Churches are legally prohibited from speaking on political matters. If they do,they are subject to having their tax exempt status revoked and might be subject to fines as well. In that sense,it is good if the Obama campaign warned your church to not get political. I know in my church the pastor did not once discuss Obama or any other political candidate and he was right to not do so. It is not legal if you are claiming tax exempt status as a church. According to your prior statements the Trinity U.C.C. should not be tax exempt. Oh that's right it doesn't count if Obama used to attend your church. Buy the way my minister never discussed names but just the issues and where the Bible stands on certain issues. If your minister doesn't discuss issues that we face in every day life your church is the luke warm church that is about to get spit out. I hope that is not the case.

Obama's former church should not be tax exempt.The law should be enforced and applied evenly to all churches regardless of who they are affiliated with. I think it is legal for churches to discuss issues but when they start endorsing candidates like Trinity did then they have crossed the line. And,yes,my church leaders are definitely willing to address important issues like gay marriages,abortions,homosexuality,etc. My church is not lukewarm,thank God.God bless.:-)

Yes,it is slowly turning into that. In other countries and even in this one hate laws have been used to persecute Christians who merely taught that homosexuality is wrong without even remotely inciting any hatred or violence against gays. That is one of the reasons this Black man opposes hate laws. They are subject to be abused and used to silence freedom of speech and even freedom of religion. Our laws are sufficient. We do not need hate crime legislation.

If someone says that there is something wrong with homosexuality, it does not automatically mean they are saying that out of hate, so don't assume that. It is a moral issue, just the same as someone saying fornication is immoral. Is that also 'hate speech'.

No,speaking out against homosexuality is not attacking a minority group but attacking behavior that is morally,spiritually,and physically wrong. It is saying that such behavior is wrong but it does not mean a person hates or has any animosity whatsoever against those who are practicing homosexuals. The way I see it,all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and if one hates homosexuals for sinning they might as well hate themself as well. God's way is to love everybody though. In your eyes,yes. In mine,no. I do not agree with denying gays any rights that they actually have or are entitled to. However,what rights gay have is debatable. Personally,I believe marriage is for men and women and that gays will never have the right to marry. Agreeing that gays should marry is akin to saying that a man should be able to marry an animal or a consenting child,in my opinion. It's just wrong.

It's not a contradiction to deny someone their so called rights because such so called rights are not rights at all. Just because someone might feel they have a right to do something like say molest a child does not mean they have that right. Also,them saying you are denying their right to molest kids when you throw them in jail for doing so will not make them have that right either. Gays make no sense whatsoever biologically. I do not say that a law should be passed to ban homosexual relationships, but I do defend my right to say that it is immoral, just the same as you believe it is your right to say that racism is immoral when one could argue that it is also none of your business what they want to believe. It is not hate speech. A person does not have to hate anybody in order to say that people of different races should not marry. They may feel that certain races are inferior to others,that when people marry outside their race it dilutes racial heritages,that interracial marrying makes it less likely that the cultures of different races will be preserved,etc. but it does not automatically mean they hate people of different races. For the record,I think IR marriages are just fine. Take care.

No,it is not. A person can honestly think some races are better than others without hating folks. They no more hate people of other races than they might hate a dog or a monkey or whatever animal for not being the equal of a human.
