  • Look at the face of those vagabond people, almost all of them r Hindu had to flee from their mother land. And most of them had to die just bcz they were Hindu.and what a crap history has been written there is no Hindu national martyr from liberation war when two third of people died in war were hindu.we r the Hindu indigenous people of Bangladesh and everything in Bangladesh air, mountain , sky, river, cannel, ocean witness of ancient hindusm.we will take over our country from those Islamic pigs

  • When people post comments, why do they feel the need to tell their life's story?

  • Obra prima! Obrigada Ïndia.

  • Beautiful.

  • magici,molto bravi

  • I hope bangladesh remains as it is, beautiful people...my dad is from bangladesh, i'm from calcutta..the music reflects the rural landscape and simplicity of bengal.....his subcounscious was affected by the landscape, which shows in the music....nature and man connected through music....what beuaty only in east asia do u find such beauty.

  • So very beautiful and wonderful.

  • I had forgotten that Ali Akbar Khan did this duet with Shankar. What a wonderful concert that was. I saw the movie of it at uni when I was about 18. That concert started my love of Indian classical music. I knew nothing then but it's great to listen to it now and know what they are doing. Thanks for sharing that with us.

  • WTF? Why those ugly pop-up photos? Ravi Shankar's Bangladesh was definitely more beautiful than those.....

  • May Goddess Saraswati's grace in form of sweet music shower on Bangladesh in order to destroy all forms of extremism that has roots in poverty and religion..

May all non-muslim refugees to India including Ravi return to their golden home land.

  • What the hell u r talkin' bout? the reason Ravi Shankar left Bangladesh is the partition of India! And if u blame poverty or religion for that, it goes with all countries of Indian subcontinent!!

Anyway, thanx 4 u prayer...May Goddess Saraswati's grace in form of sweet music shower on Bangladesh !!

  • very nice extraodiner

  • Ravi kills this all day.

    Go Rav !

  • one of our most talented beings!

    this song effin triggers kundalini

  • Go on Ravi my son get stuck in !

  • images trop fortes au début qui me laissent aucune envie d'écouter après.

  • esto..hermanos mios es musica , pero para el alma, que te renueva y limpia..

  • I LOVE BOGRA BANGLADESH

  • yo sepod...if u new anything about Mozart or Beethoven, you would know that both frequently performed as well as composed, also one cannot compose if one does not understand the language on music, and one who understands and is able to communicate sed language is a musician....

  • ohhhhh

  • anybody have the intro part to this too... theirs a part where he is tuning the sitar and stops and everyone starts cheering... than hes like 'if you like the tuning of the sitar... i hope that you will like the playing more!'

  • I love that part too, I don't think those people in the audience had any idea what they were in for when they started clapping to the tuning. My mother saw him live once and said his fingers were bleeding after the show from how intensely he played.

  • wow thas pretty.... intense... lol. i could imagine even after this one... in the end of the first part he was goin nuts on the sitar!

  • nice music

  • omg Ravi is one of the greatest musicians ever...like hes up there with Mozart and Beethoven..........

  • Mozart and Beethoven were not Musicians, they were composers, they wrote the music, others played it, and it lived forever.

  • Wow, three of the greatest musicians ever on the same stage! Incredible!

  • The world is cruel !

listen the music ! No War !

Peace and peace and love !

    From BOOTAKILL to France

  • please watch pather panchali , the immortal film by satyajit ray, the lifetime acheivement oscar winner- and you will know what i just said is true-ravi shankar composed the score for it and it is very close in essence

  • thanks for that refference ill be sure to check it out.. yeah this song is the best ever.

  • @sujaul1971 yep.. u r r8!! he composed the music in just 24 hours!! incredible!!

  • this is bangladesh for me, now 12000 miles away from the country i knew as home - this music is the landscape, sun, wind, air, and rain of my home-

ravi shankar is a bengali and i am sure he must have felt the the essence of the land, water and the people, their lives and expressed it all in one phenomenal soundscape, this music, bangla dhun is almost who and what i am.

thank you youtube, shamaul, wherever you are.

may there be peace in my country

  • i've listened to this concert on vinyl so many times =D

  • the tuning was clapped even lol!

  • What a pleasant performance!

When genius touches a simple folk tune, it becomes an immortal music!

Great to have the video here.

But, where is the next Ravi Shankar?

Earning bountiful money through cheap entertainment of Bollywood is ruining India's top class music.

  • next ravi shankar is Tabla Master Ustad Allah Rakha and Sarod Master Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. both big genius musicians. Ustad Allah Rakha died in 2000

  • Anoushka Shankar.

  • could somebody tell me what the name of all the artists are ?

  • Hi yea,

the sitarist obviously is ravi shankar :P, but the other man on tabla (percussion) is Alla Rakha. The other man on the sarod (plucked string instrument), if i am not mistaken, is Ali Akbar Khan, son of Ravi Shankar's Guru...

  • thanks to Ravi and the group to represent Bangladesh with their musical interpretation. I am sure most of the Bangladeshies will agree with me that the music notes they were playing sounds very Bangladeshi...authentic Bangladeshi...its truly the heart.

  • Go buy the George Harrison "Concert for Bangledesh" you get som bob Dylan, Some ravi Shankar, Billy Preston and many more...... Excellant Musical settup!

  • Life is a Bummer!!!!!!! Music is a Savior!!! We have NO god. A life like this will kill you. I hope that once dead we may be privileged enough to know the true meaning of our existence. PEACE IN A VISSION.

  • poriborton shobai chae kintu keu e agae na. Mukhe bole to are lav nai vai, kichu akta korte hobe...kitnu ki e ba korbo....2008 er dike election ashtese, abar bnp, awami league nirbachone darabe. Chinta korte paren!!!!!!!!!????

  • To one of the most beautiful lands on the earth-this is a tribute. Both the musicians are originally from that land. Shame to human greed and selfishness that this wonderful land has been subjected to and which has reduced this land to hell. Wish we could learn that nothing brutish can last only the good and the pure and the divine and the loving last.

  • Asole world ar kache amader image niye chinta kora dorkar avabe daridrota dekhiye to lavh nai re bhai, keno ai obostha tar chitro aro joruri. Amiyo desh ar ai obosthar poriborton chai asha korbo samne aro onek kicho upohar diben amaderke.

  • I understand avoiding piracy, but what about musicianship? I don't wanna see some starving idiots.

  • why do u call them idiots?

  • Thats the whole reason for the Concert for Bangladesh... Raising money for Bangladesh so they wouldnt be starving. Thats where the soul of this dhun comes from.

    Bangla Dhun is awesome!

  • The only idiocy here would be to look the other way; It is hard to look these folks in the eye from the comfort of your computer screen and not question the why, who... .

  • in the first minute i had to cry a little bit, god bless all those people, it was hard to see those pictures with beautiful harmony music
