  • Hey Tony, I used to listen to your After Dinner Oldies show back then. Hope you are doing well!

  • I think the summer of 90 was the last time I heard this on the air. After that I didn't hear it on the dial again.

  • I worked at WBRW for two years and was there when the station closed. A bunch of great people were able to sustain the station for about a year after Somerset Broadcasting sold it. I hosted a show called "After Dinner Oldies" in the summer of 1990 - what a great time! It's a shame local community radio has gone the way of the station wagon!

  • As I understand, this station is now broadcasting an ethnic format (I think Indian). I believe they are now broadcasting with an effective radiated power of 250 watts, non-directional.

  • The original WBRW went "dark" in 1990. The abandoned studio building was vandalized and then demolished in 1994, so the photos have to be much older than 1999. The station was rebuilt and went back on the air in early 1997. The original WBRW planned to move to 1160 kHz and begin 24 hour broadcasting, but WOBM down in Ocean County won that spot on the dial instead.
