I was kicking around the idea for purchasing a XD 9mm..all the crap we have heard about the 9mm and its lack of stopping power...i've never owned one but I have shot them reloaded ammo for them, so I know its capabilities and seeing your vid I have decided to get two of them thanks!!...p.s. great collection and your comment about carrying the .44 mag? CLASSIC!..I live in CA...So carrying here legally is next to impossible...but I never listened to my Parents either??

Great collection. If the XDM is your favorite double-stack .45, you should try the USP or FNP-45 if you haven't already. Substantially less perceived recoil in both cases in my experience. But then again, nothing looks quite like the XDM either. Thanks for sharing!

@OilTheGun Oh, I'm sorry to hear about the lemon, that is very frustrating. If you check out my channel, I just recorded some CQB drills with my FNP-45 yesterday, actually. It has a nice short reset and light recoil for a .45. I hope the next one works out for you... I'm sure it will!

SIG P226. Excellent pistol, reliable, combat proven, used by the Secret Service and others. But... it's expensive.

Glock 17 and 19 are really reliable too though they are both 9mm. Buy some 147 grain jacketed hollow points from Hornady and those 2 pack a punch.

@AK111X um secret service use sig 229 seals use 226 navy 9mm personally I carry my glock 21sf not as accurate but combat accurate, and thats what i care about for a carry, but on occasion take my 226 navy with SRT trigger

@davejorro05 if you purchase a 40 caliber you can get an aftermarket conversion barrel so you can shoot 9 mm as well. all you would need is the barrel and 9mm magazines. there you go two guns in one.

@illskillz05 80% of the time I carry my G27. When I carry an XDM I'm usually hiking, camping or hunting and use a Blackhawk Serpa, or Crossbreed Supertuck.

@TheTitto20 desert eagle "50 cal"? It fires the 50AE cartridge. There are many "50 cal" rounds the Beowulf, BMG, AE, .500 to name a few and are all different the .50 is just the width not the "power" of the rd.The DE is a novelty gun you like so much from your video games and really isn't practical at all can have feeding problems with the magnum case. It's over engineered, over priced and not a practical combat pistol....more a range toy.

Thanks for a great upload, very very nice collection you have. If handguns weren't so f****n expensive here in Australia I'd own a lot more. Currently I own a 627 V-Comp (love it) and just got rid of my M&P 9L and picked up a Steyr M9 A1 which is a very interesting and fun gun. I was wanting to pick up a .45 but due to the cost I will have to go with a XDm instead of a 1911 (XDm is about $1000 here) so I was glad to see good reviews about the Springfields. Thanks again for the upload!

Hm, it would seem you like the opposite types of guns I do friend. I love the Browning HP, Beretta M92FS, Beretta PX4 Storm, CZ 75! I'm kind of a 9mm guy. I also am not really a fan of glock pistols, but most of the time with guns it's mostly just preference really. Nice list.

I figure a 9mm is cheap to shoot, fairly easy to control and of course the weapons that fire them are awesome like the Browning or Beretta. I hear a lot of good things about the CZs and they were actually one that I was considering because they were so well received, resilient, and low priced.

@justinwoolee I own the M&P .40 and i think its a great gun. I have the Cabela's edition with the two tone that came with 3 magazines, a speed loader, case, holster, the backstraps. I have shot the XDM .45 and I think its amazing as well and want to buy one someday. My next handgun purchhase will be a compact though. I just want something a little more manageable to CC with.

You ever try FN Herstal's handguns? Fnx-9 is the best 9mm in my opinion tops the xdm anyday. As is the fnx-40 and Fnp-45 tactical. I have to admit you had a beautiful .357 in that video.

You just have to read through some of the comments on this video to see how mature some people are.

FN makes a great gun and I may add another 9 sometime in the future, but Im not sure it would make my top ten. I need to make another top 10 for 2011. Hopefully I'll get some peace tonight. All the best.

i have a ultra compact just like yours very nice gun,it just feels solid in your hand doesn't it.i also have a colt officers model thats the same size as the springfield ultra compact.im deffinitely a 1911 fan.only other gun i really carry is a couple different glocks,26,30 and i keep 17 loaded for home defense

I have owned a dozen Glocks and Iv'e never had an issue with any of them. Easy to maintain, reliable and as accurate as the shooter. But get whatever feels comfortable to you. All the best.

Good choice! I love my XDM-9 as well. Even more once I installed a PRP trigger kit. I highly recommend installing a heavier striker roll pin as well.
