ive used both eircom's 7mb fixed line, and now have 3broadband, they both get the same kind of speeds, my wireless modem is actually out performing the fixed line most days, getting round 3-4mb download and 1.5 upload, i'm very happy with it. and would say it will only get better as the technology advances

Are you still using the service - if yes, has it improved? Network penetration was/is low in some parts of the country, unfortunately for the consumers, "service limitations" mean they can't really do much about it. You can ask for your account to be closed once the tech support confirms the lesser speeds you getting. :)

In my country we used to gather 5-6 neighbours, gather 500 euros and buy a optic fiber and share it over lan.If you hear huawei, run.Britsh are cocksuckers they brought this shit in Europe.I run when i hear vodafone and huawei.

holy crap, i work for 3 here in australia and im glad we dont have those sorts of speeds. i use MBB with 3 and regularly get around 3M/s, sometimes faster. slowest ive ever got was 1.5M/s and that was onto vodafones 2G network...

This piece of crap service was down for 2 weeks here in Donegal, rang everyday and ofc the Indian call centre gives me the "it will be fixed tomorrow" crap routine every time. its ridiculous I'm barely 1 mile from the mast and in direct view of it...

You're doing something wrong 100kBit upstream?

With the normal three broadband (and 15% signal strength) I got up to 150 kBit/s (300 on a good day) and 20 kBit upstream, so the ratio should be more like 8:1.

Have a ZTE622 but the service was constantly deteriorating over the last week (last measured was 10kBit down, 1kBit upstream - felt I was back to dialup), today I bit the bullet and ordered the National BB Scheme modem - hopefully my router supports the model or it will go straight back.

It's not your modem, it's the network. If you can get 2.7 M - that's at a time when there aren't too many people in the same cell site. Once it get's busy, you speed and response time nose dives.. so much for guaranteed 1.2 M It's a sick joke. Eamon Ryan and Three have a lot to answer for....

I've just got one of these modems on a upgrade from 3 and its absolutely terrible. STAY AWAY!!!150kbps at best!! Sending it straight back.

The older E220 model is better -not by much!
