I originally went with the #6 chip on my MSD unit, and although it ran ok, when i went with my own tune it ran so much better i threw the timing curve ships in the trash, not to mention the nitrous retard and 2 stage rev limiter built in.
@ZONES89RS I think we're running the #4 plug now. I've found a conversion kit for this box that allows you to run your own tune thru the computer. which we will probably mess with later.
@ZONES89RS Not at all. considering at the time the intake and timing box was purchased, that was the only thing available. and we were using the "stock" timing plug during first fire up. we've since swapped for a hotter plug and its running fantastic.
in addition to the extra power, you dont have to spend the extra money for wiring/harness/fuel injectors/tuning. but if you dont know how to tune a carb, spend the extra money.
whats the power or torque difference between carbed or fuel injected ls1? i have an 86 305 maro but would like to put a ls1 in it but rather fuel injected
hey ive got a question for ya. ive got an 85z im putting a lq9 in which is based off the ls designs but are used in heavy duty trucks. what i need to know is what intake manifold is that and do you have clearance issuse with the hood. i know its an edelbrock but is it an RPM series or a Victor Jr? i need to make sure my setup will fit before i start getting parts

Regret not getting the MSD 6010 controller instead? Those timing curves that come with the one you have are crap.

It just flooded haha. It sounds like that cause they prob have no exhaust manifolds on there. Carbed ls1 is def what i want for my 84 though
