  • Haha, when my brother and I were little, we actually like the GBC version!

  • @Aphradonis The GBC version isn't terrible, it's just a lot more limited compared to the PC version. If they tweaked the interface and made the controls a bit better it wouldn't be so annoying.

  • It's just a shame this game was ported to the Game Boy Color terribly, so badly infact it's arguably one of the worst GBC games out there.

That's why this version gets a bit of bad rep' which is unfair

  • I loved this game! I think I still have my original disc somewhere!

  • AhazuBalan, how do I get this game?

  • I agree to your review really, this was created to become something like Solitaire not Jedi Knight. Anyway, I like the game.

  • As for the Indiana Jones version, it's become slightly rare abandonware. I have it though.

  • Everyone has a game that they love and no one else likes. For me it's Harry Potter 2 on the Gameboy Color. Fantastic RPG and probably the one game that sticks the closest to the storyline in the book.

  • @Sajun88 Well, Harry Potter 1 on PC is in storyline different, but the style is closest to the book. Harry Potter 6, well ya know...

  • I see this game all the time on ebay for just a $1. I think I am going to pick it up. thanks :)

  • There was this one level on Endor, where you had to get something out of a crashed A-Wing or so that was stuck in a small water or mud, I don't remember. That's the only level I never completed.

I still have no idea how you were supposed to get it. I guess it was just a bug.

  • I loved this game! lol

  • nostalgia

  • I used to own this game I wish i knew how to get it again

  • @MrRymanb Download it free from agamesroom along with the Indiana Jones version, both are great, but I like Star Wars one more.

  • I thought it was brilliant... a tiny self contained SW universe.

  • Just downloaded this, can't wait ta play

  • I remember playing this game at my friends house, I don't remember it being terrible, granted I was 8 years old.

  • Yoda Stories, Dark Forces, Rebel Assault 2, and of course Droid Works. That's my childhood right there.

  • Maybe one of the worst games ever ... but i loved it and played it many weeks.

  • i loved that game

  • oh dude... i remember this game from my childhood. i wont lie, i found it boring as well and played it just a little bit but im happy to find it here. it reminds me the time when i was 12 even though i never really liked it:)

  • damn i remember playing this game. The funniest thing that happened to me was some kind of easter egg but i m not sure if anyone else had this "hidden" mission. Usually u have to repair a speeder or ship for some quests, but i had to repair a car lol. I had this mission only once. And then i could drive a car to get over to the island.

And another funny quest was, when i came to dagobah and before yoda gave me the mission instructions, he told me he was hungry and i had to get him a bug lol

  • Yeah, sorry, but this always looked like bullshit...

  • the developers were mocking star wars with this game

  • This is my favourite game as a kid. Was like almost a decade ago. Feel so old now.

  • THIS GAME IS AWSOME DUDE

  • I liked it as well when I was small but never got through it. I mean, I couldn't even speak english so yeah. I completely forgot that this exists, thanks for that!

  • AWESOME!!!!!!At first I hated this game, but when I got the hold of it, I really enjoyed it.

  • I loved this game. Played it for hours with my dad. We would alternate levels.

  • I think most people expected it to becone a lucasarts typical game like monkey island therefore they didnt like it although i think it is not bad for what it is

  • Can you get this game to play on Windows 7 (32 bit)?

  • @89usfbulls The XP compatibility patch made it work on my computer, which uses Windows 7 64bit. Since it works on 64 bit it should definitely work on 32bit.

  • @AhazuBalan The original installation method fails in Windows 7, so you have to take the "live" version from the CD and copy it as it is on your PC; then you can apply the WinXP patch overwriting both files "WAVMIX32.DLL"and "WAVEMIX.INI".

Just yesterday I created an automatic setup single-file (~ 452 MB) to have the game in Windows 7 ready to use. You can download it here: dl.dropbox.com/u/19746155/Varie/Yoda%20stories%20per%20Windows%207.exe

  • @Pippomone 450MBs? That's a little large for Yoda Stories, considering the original game was less than 3MB. I already got the game working a while ago though, and saved the patch.

  • i remember the two games i played in 1997 were dark forces 2 and yoda stories

  • I didn't realize so many had a problem with it. Probably one of my favorite games of all time, even up to today. So much to do in each story, and a good variation of stories. Quality stuff. Never tried the Indiana Jones version though

  • @PrometheousSG1 It got some pretty bad reviews from game websites, but I don't understand why. I always thought it was a fun little game to play when you're bored.

  • Have played this game as a child. I did not understand any single word in English back then... But I did not let it to disturb me ^^.

  • i loved this game back in the day. need to grab a patch or something so I can use it on windows 7

  • Actually most of the bad review of the game come from the gameboy version, while the PC version reception seemed much better.

  • This game kind of reminds me of Zelda. Looks pretty cool.

  • I remember playing this on my Old NEC. Or maybe it was a dell. Either way it was a crappy machine but this game was awesome.

  • you should have mentioned getting the force.

  • any1 know where to download this bad boy?

  • I spent HOURS playing this game XD

  • yes like the new alien vs predator .. and damnation .. no one liked those but iloved them

  • I agree with you, this game has been unfairly treated. I personally love Yoda Stories; it gave me many and many hours of joy when I was younger.

  • um cara não gosta ? porque? fuckyou mother fucker

  • Aw man, don't worry, I played this as a kid too and had fun! I was disappointed, though not surprised, to find not many other people did.

  • Apparently I was an idiot when I was younger, I never realized the puzzles were randomly generated. I thought everyone was playing the same ones in order.

  • I loved this game when I was younger!

  • I used to like this game a lot. I remember loving the rare occasions where you actually get to the death star.

  • lol i rember this

  • I played this game all the time, a true classic and completely underrated. This game was the halcyon of video games for me and it was one of the most fun experiences i ever had. Btw I used to play it at my grandparents house any idea of certain sites that have a free download??

  • I played it 10 years ago.. I was amazed by it.

Now, after I'm 10 years older.. I just though.. why not? I searched for it and started to play.. THE MEMORIES! Fucking amazing game, great memories.

  • looks good ill download it

  • When I was a kid, I played this game so much.

  • Loved this game! So much.

  • Nice review man! Do you know any sites that offer this game for free by any chance? I 'm really anxious to play it!

  • Isn't there like a game that has Indiana Jones in it or something

  • @nigelslegos Yeah, Indiana Jones Desktop Adventures

  • Yes I have had this happened to me. I think I might be the only person in the world to love Red Steel when the Wii was released.

  • I finally got this game to run, but when I try to save/load a game it crashes. Any help? Thanks.

  • This was one of my favorites as a kid.

  • ZOMG this and Indiana Jones Desktop Adventures was my fave games growing up.

thanks much for brinign back so many memories!

  • lol, did he actually carry Han Solo in his inventory? cool. I loved this game back in 97 but I never managed to complete a mission. I always got stuck at some point and started all over again

  • @nickyripper Yes, there is a quest where you can get Chewbecca in your inventory too hehe

  • @nickyripper i loved this too cira 97/98 and completed pretty much all missions more the 3 times

  • i loved this game!!! where can i DL it?

  • i played it :P but i played only the demo, im hinking on download it :PPP

  • @sebamax96 It might be a slightly rare download, since I don't really know of anyone else aside from me and a handful of other people who actually played it and liked it.

  • @AhazuBalan I played this all the time back when I was young, got it as a Christmas gift. Considering my old computer was a 200mhz beast and could barely handle games.

  • I'm playing this game right now!

  • Still have this game! Anyone know how to make it work for XP?

  • There is an Windows NT patch that makes the game work with Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7. Just search for 'yoda stories windows xp patch' on Google.

  • Ahhhhh the memories!! Memories not of me playing it but my brother, and hearing those same couple of sounds over and over and over...

Thanks for the vid -- your narration is crystal clear!

  • Glad you enjoyed it! I think my speaking voice still needs work though, I hear I don't show enough emotion.

  • Maybe, but on the other hand your voice is far from monotone.

  • man...i loved this game when i was a kid! I reminds me of Zelda...this is probably why i liked!! This would be a great game if movement wasnt so awkward, but it still remains a good game!

  • Somebody has to eventually make this into an updated installable game that doesn't require a port. This has iPhone potential too.

  • Amazingly this game works in Windows 7 x64 with the XP compatibility patch. You have to have all the game files in a .zip file before hand tho, because the CD installer doesn't work on 64bit systems.

  • Lmao @ 8:10

  • This game was highly underrated. Loved it as a kid :D

  • I can agree about this game being addictive. I played it ALL THE TIME when I was 8. It's been about 10 years since I've played it, but I wanna try it again now.

  • Yeah, it was definitely one of my childhood favorites next to Doom and Dark Forces.

They have the full version on some abandonware websites, you can probably find the full version easily using Google.

Needs a patch to work on Windows 2000/XP/Vista though, which is also easily sought on Google. I remember how happy I was all those years ago when I first found out about it.

I wanted to play the game so bad I was thinking about building a legacy computer for it and a few other old games.

  • Yes! Thank you-- no one seemed to get this or Indy's Desktop Adventures when they came out. Not even the dumb marketing department @ LucasArts got it... anyone ever find the Corvette from Corvette Summer in the game?

  • I got the "secret" alien ending on the Cloning Machine quest, that's about it though.

  • Yeah, the PC version was classic in my opinion. Unfortunately people seem to group it in with the GBC version.

  • Omg, this was my first video game ever! Wish I could find it.

  • its star wars ahhh,brings back memories...=]

  • Seems like almost yesterday when I was playing this on a computer that could barely push 100 Megahertz and ran Windows 95!
