Solidarity to the working class of Portugal,Spain,Ireland,Italy and every country of Europe...To every worker, immigrant, unemployed, man and womam,youth...LONG LIVE the working class of Greece that fights every day Against our bosses,Greek Capitalists,EU and The IMF...
Great song and so timely.I teach students and only wish they have the fruits of the working class' labour but unfortunately the 1% only envisage death, poverty, illiteracy and misery for the vast majority of children around the world. Rise up the working class and sieze power and clear a road worthy for our children to enjoy.
@Palmer640 this isnt a song about that we shouldnt work, its about tha thing that WE the WORKINGCLASS, always dodge the bullets on the battlefield, WE stand at the frontline in battle for freedom, WE stand in the factory, WE BUILT THIS WORLD AND BY ALL THAT IS HOLY IT SHOULD BELONG TO US!!
That is what the song is about, long live the working class and death to the rich upperclass!!
@kanedog229 Capitalism is a system of self-interest given self-interest is basic to human nature. If corporations, board directors, bankers, ceos, can act in their own self-interest then logically speaking blue-collar workers ought to be given the same opportunities without ridiculing their greed.Economically speaking the U.S. competes quite well, thus the largest economy. Low-wage work also costs more for communities suggesting unions=lower deficits. Declining union membership=higher deficits.
Part of the problem workers have is getting on the same page ie: Union / Non Union, and Public Sector/ Private Sector. The 1% likes to divide us along those lines. Non Union Private Sector needs to understand that an injury to one is a an injury to all. When we all stand together we have the chance to make serious change
@Nirvanan0tdead not all americans are spoiled. admittedly, most are, but I'm american, and I'm not lazy. i work out, i help others, and i do it without asking for anything but a thank you.
@SA1933 I DO agree 100%. I'd happily pay a little extra at the cash register if I knew that my money was going to American workers from an American company providing American-made goods. I think that would go a long way towards cleaning up some of this mess.
Pretty sad that Americans are for the most part consumers and not manufacturers. Until that changes, the fat cats will continue to run everything. Don't invest in large or foreign corporations, chances are there is someone in your town or city willing to do the same job!
@JakobHayden What you've just suggeted is that without the 1% money would not exist. You've implied that no one else would be capable of handling money without the 1%. Indeed, it's the 1% that have managed to so royally fuck the world economy.
@SA1933 Yes, that's obviously correct, and further illustrates my point. It's called an "economy", and they've been around about as long as civilization itself.
@jth2711 Well, yeah. There are some things people will FIND a way to pay for regardless of the economy, and there's no real shame in providing that service. After all, SOMEBODY'S going to make that money!
@JakobHayden Well look at that. It's not everyday day you get see a snot nosed Reaganite's latent homosexual tendencies displayed for everyone to see. Good job. Everyone on the board gets to see the real you. Happy Coming Out Day.
@jth2711 See how nasty this guy got? That's how you know when you've won the argument. Thank you very much for helping me prove my point, which is that all too often these "Liberal" and "Progressive" folks CLAIM to be all "peace and love and tolerance", but just as soon as you disagree with them the slurs and homophobia come right out, proving their intolerance and hatred towards anyone different from them. That's why nobody takes these people or their "movements" seriously, too much hypocrisy.
@JakobHayden I didn't get nasty with you. I poked you with a stick. You tried to the same thing to me insinuating I was I was a male hooker so I thought I'd turn it back on you. You didn't win an argument, you used a tactic out of the Karl Rove school of debate and I punched you in the mouth. I didn't use any slurs. I merely insinuated you were a closeted homosexual, which to the Conservative crowd is worse than being a child killer. I didn't do anything that you hadn't done to someone else
@jth2711 Male hooker? I thought you were selling dope. Hmmm, that speaks volumes to where YOUR mind is at. Nice try, bud, but it's a little late to pull that card, you already showed your colors and illustrated my point further. By all means, though, keep backpeddling, this is really fun to watch...
@jth2711 On a side note, I've heard of an organization that might be just right for you. They call themselves "The Imperial Knights of The Ku Klux Klan", and they hate gays too. They also hate black people and Jews if you're into that.
@JakobHayden Good attempt at deflection here, The problem is that I never said I hated anyone because I don't. I could care less about whether you're into men women or houseplants. I merely insinuated that you did care and it was what was at the core of your comment to me. I do not care whether you are black, or a Jew but I would imagine that you care deeply about that and that at your core it burns you that the Klan is a stain on the country's conscience otherwise you wouldn't have used it.
@jth2711 Mmmm-hm. Nobody said anything about gay people, YOU took it that direction immediately (but I'M the closet gay somehow). Tell yourself whatever you need to to feel better about your hate speech, nobody's paying attention anymore ... including me, I think you've perfectly illustrated my point already.
@lorddwan Quite ironic that you should point to the Protestant reformations against the Catholics on a Dropkick Murphys song. Also, Catholics do consider themselves Christian, but all this is irrelevant. What's important is that following the Reformation Europe went to war for decades upon decades with various fluctuations between the nations involved. The Protestantism which triumphed over many countries also became a pillar of Conservatism- especially with the Puritans and the Presbytarians.
To me the photos just how much working conditions have improved... Don't see how you can compare workers today with 18th century mines. You have Labour movements borne from industrialiisation to thank for that. Besides that there was obvious advances in technology. Notice Labour movements- not revolution- revolution has never lead to a progressive government directly, that is erroneous knne-jerk reaction talking.

@superwolf95 Libertarian Communism. Not Marxism. Freedom, equality, solidarity. See Barcelona and Katalonia in general at 1936. They had organised their society without authority. Anarchists CNT-FAI.

Im not Irish. But I look Like Irish. I fight like Irish. I work like Irish. And Im damn worker! When I hear this damn song. My Heart beat fast very Fast !
This song. Reminds me of my grandfather. A man, nearly 70, that still cuts wood every day. Took a 6ft branch to his head, from 40ft up. No hardhat. Drove himself to the hospital (20 miles), got stitched up, went back to cutting wood, in the dead of winter at that. A man that plays with bee hives for fun. A man that has supported 4 daughters and a son, and a wife. Worked all his life, and continues to do so.
I'd like to think this song was made for him and his ilk.
"The reason the American worker doesn't object to what the wealthiest 1% is doing to them, is because they are under the delusion that it's only a matter of time before they join their ranks."
@TheSunWillDieOut Yep. This called the "Workers Song" after all. It cares naught of creed, race, or background. If you're a worker, no matter your origin, this song is for you. Mexicans, Blacks, Whites, the Red man, the yellow man, women.....hell, even Gingers. They all have a place in this song. A worker is a worker.
I love this band i have a few albums but can someone tell me what type of band it is lol is it like, Folk music + punk + rock = Awesome can someone actually tell me where there from and stuff i know they maybe from boston as they have that in alot of songs but im guessing its like an irish type band sorry i suck at music
this country was built by blue collar working class people, id love to scew the white collar class by countrywide not working for a week and see if they really think were not needed!!!
美国工会组织和中国的工会组织,需要更多的交流与合作,特别需要务实与创新。U.S. trade unions and trade unions in China, the need for more exchanges and cooperation, in particular, need to be pragmatic and innovative
Fight! Fight! Is always the fate of the working class.
so wat if captainpunkrock69 is a dishwasher so you said he is dumb pretty much get a life man all the jobs you listed are working class also . and he never said he was going to be one forever for all you know he is a college student and if he plans on doing that all his life thats his choice
I was in the Marines from 2002 to 2007, now I work on commercial fishing boats in Seattle's Fisherman's Terminal. Dropkick Murphy's has always spoken to me on some level. I went to their show in NY and goddamn it was good.
I was in the Marines for 5 years now I work on commercial fishing boats in Seattle's Fisherman's Terminal. Dropkick Murphy's has always spoken to me on some level. I went to their show in NY and goddamn it was good.
Learn the truth. If it wasn't for a 2006 mandate to prefund the next 75 years of retirement in 10 years, the only government agency to be forced to do this, to the tune of 55 billion in 10 years, the USPS would be solvent. Also due to a formula miscalculation, the Fed actually owes the USPS over 50 Billion dollars. However the fed is broke so they will not pay up, but the USPS still has to.
@rorybowskill I know right. My aunty refuses to go to Ruby Tuesdays anymore because she thinks she got sick from it. I think someone didn't treat their dishwasher right xD
@captainpunkrock69 Maybe you should have tried harder in school or been more ambitious with your life. Only people that should be washing dishes are high schoolers and retirees that get bored.
@captainpunkrock69 Then what are you crying about? Society doesn't fuck you in the ass, society allows you to get an education and make a little extra money on the side doing a very easy job. You got it made bud.
@BushyX so wat if captainpunkrock69 is a dishwasher so you said he is dumb pretty much get a life man all the jobs you listed are working class also . and he never said he was going to be one forever for all you know he is a college student and if he plans on doing that all his life thats his choice
@TheRobertBelmont IMO the worse thing about many of the upper class is how they think they somehow are better than everyone else, like that they "worked harder" or something like that so they deserve superiority. on top of that, i'm 17 and most of these people i know are kids who haven't worked a day out of the classroom.
@captainpunkrock69 Yeah, tell me bout it, I'm 19 most people my age are in college or still in high school. I'm working a full time construction job. So I feel your pain man.
@TheRobertBelmont thats good for you though. i can't wait to get a job and be in the real world and all. i'm probably going to college mainly for the experience you know? thats all ive ever really wanted from school not all this complicated get ahead bullshit that my parents and everyone around me try to tell me. i just want to enjoy the pleasures and dramas that come with being in school. "reaching the top" has never been my goal because more or less that involves stepping on others
@captainpunkrock69 Yeah I never wanted to leave the blue collar working area, I'm going back to school just to become a state police officer. I mean it would be nice to be a detective, but I'd rather just do it to help and protect others.
@TheRobertBelmont I miss the factories. I worked with generations of families from Grandparents down. My Dad and I both worked at the same one until he retired and I got laid off.
@captainpunkrock69 Dam Fucking Right.WE just need to defend our rights more openly.WE use our hand unlike THose Higher ups Siting on their asses and doing nothing
@virko1990 the thing is, our deluded society has this idea that money is directly correlated to how hard you work, so to even many working class people, the division of wealth seems justified.

The middle class pays all the taxes, does all the work.
The poorer are there just to scare the shit out of the middle class. Keep on showing up at those jobs." George Carlin

@TheSunWillDieOut And?
Ok, so according to you, this music doesn't apply to Mexicans? You're a cunt.
IntertubeTr0ll 4 months ago
@TheSunWillDieOut Yep. This called the "Workers Song" after all. It cares naught of creed, race, or background. If you're a worker, no matter your origin, this song is for you. Mexicans, Blacks, Whites, the Red man, the yellow man, women.....hell, even Gingers. They all have a place in this song. A worker is a worker.
AndrewDeLong 4 months ago 5
@AndrewDeLong 99.9% of Dropkick Murphys' songs are about irish people and their struggle and I had no idea a song could care...

@captainpunkrock69 ya got dat right brother, the upper-class is always screwin the workin class over. I can't really stand rich folk myself.
TheRobertBelmont 4 months ago
@TheRobertBelmont IMO the worse thing about many of the upper class is how they think they somehow are better than everyone else, like that they "worked harder" or something like that so they deserve superiority. on top of that, i'm 17 and most of these people i know are kids who haven't worked a day out of the classroom.
captainpunkrock69 4 months ago
@captainpunkrock69 Yeah, tell me bout it, I'm 19 most people my age are in college or still in high school. I'm working a full time construction job. So I feel your pain man.
TheRobertBelmont 4 months ago
@TheRobertBelmont thats good for you though. i can't wait to get a job and be in the real world and all. i'm probably going to college mainly for the experience you know? thats all ive ever really wanted from school not all this complicated get ahead bullshit that my parents and everyone around me try to tell me. i just want to enjoy the pleasures and dramas that come with being in school. "reaching the top" has never been my goal because more or less that involves stepping on others
captainpunkrock69 4 months ago
@captainpunkrock69 Yeah I never wanted to leave the blue collar working area, I'm going back to school just to become a state police officer. I mean it would be nice to be a detective, but I'd rather just do it to help and protect others.

virko1990 3 months ago
@virko1990 the thing is, our deluded society has this idea that money is directly correlated to how hard you work, so to even many working class people, the division of wealth seems justified.
