Also, I would not like it if a tournament fisherman caught a giant Bass from my cove I live on, because then they would put it into their boat and haul it back many miles to the place where the tournament is being held.
That would erase my chances of ever catching that fish in my cove.

A lot of locals don't like big tournaments like this.
The sadly bring more pressure/ publicity to the lake.
They also displace fish, and their genetics in the lake.
Example- A tournament fisherman catches a big Bass in the Blood River then he puts it in his boat and takes it all the way to where ever the Tournament is being held, They will release the caught fish there. Sometimes many miles from where the fish used to live.
