@TaylorPeppers74 Just because the artist had a specific thing in mind when writing the song and wanted people to interpret it a certain way, I'm sure they would much rather people just Enjoy the music they wrote regardless of the meaning 'they intended'. It's not a discredit at all. It's a compliment that a person could find a meaning significant to them through someon else's art. That's what art is about. Otherwise it wouldn't be as good of an experience.

My favorite line is, "I'm not the dark center of the universe like you thought," because it reminds me of that whiney teenage feeling you get when you think everyone hates you. For a while I believed my family was completely disappointed in me and thought I was a huge burden. I would get all defensive and tell them I'm not the worst kid on Earth like they think I am.

I know they don't really feel like that, but I still smile when I hear that line and think, "yeah, what he said."

"Dry or wet ice both melt..." Whichever religion you choose to believe in has its own sets of consequences. "And you're equally cheated," can mean a number of things. It could mean being literally cheated out of your money or life...
