Dan, we're seeing a similar phenomenon here in the Kentucky Lake/Lake Barkley area of Western Kentucky. Potential buyers are not so likely coming here from the coasts as they are from the middle of the country including the large cities like Chicago, St. Louis, and Indianapolis. But they are watching the national news and think they can 'steal' waterfront homes. Our sellers are not likely in the financial position where they 'have' to sell so buyers are often times surprised. Enjoyed your post.
