No, the new gt with 315hp does 0 to 60 in 4.9, where the new camaro with 426hp does 0 to 60 in 4.7. There is no way a v6 camaro with 304hp would ever beat a new mustang gt.
The V6 Camaro is heavier and has less torque than the GT. If the SS is BARELY beating the Mustang's times, imagine what happens when the 5.0 rated at 400hp/400tq comes out.
Its official now, 2011 Mustang GT gets a 5.0 DOHC 32v V8 that makes 400hp and 400ft/lb of torque and the V6 gets the 3.5 DOHC 4v Duratec V6 thats in the Lincoln MKZ.

Struggling? Hah! For 50 bucks you can change the pulleys on the SC and move up to 575hp. Plus, an SC gives you a much better mid range torque band. Not to mention the LS7 is a 7L engine, thats just a wheeee bit bigger than the 4.6 or 5.4L engines that ford uses.

You are comparing an aluminum block VS Cast Iron. What do you have to do to boost on an aluminum block?? Sleeve it. That means that unless the chevy block comes sleeved from the factory, then you would not be able to boost a lot if a SC was installed.
actually they do come sleeved from the factory steel or titanium clynders so yea...i like mustangs and vettes/camaros vettes r just better cars! actually i would prefer a stang over a vette/camaro any day they may not be as strong factory but they sure do look better!!!!

wtf r u talking about, every site on the inet is saying the 2010 mustang gt will use the 5.0if they dont keep the 4.6 and they will use dod which will shut off 4 cylinders drastically improving mpgs, so it does sound like ford is trying to get the most mpgs possible out of the stang, and they rnt doing a 6.2l. i think ford realizes in 2020 their fleet has to average 35 mpgs, which means the stang needs better fuel efficiency.
on the cover of the june 2008 car and driver it says its a 6.2L SOHC 400hp v8. it also says so in the magazine. now upon checking the website it says its a 5.0L that makes 350hp. i guess it was a typo in the magazine. and no im not confusing it becuase the camaro is using the LS2 motor if im not mistaken and that is a pushrod engine, not SOHC

A displacement system which shuts down 4 cylinders does NOT have to suffer in performance. All 8 cylinders are working until the vehicle is at cruising speeds, at least that's the way it works for Chrysler. I'm not sure how Ford would make their own system work.
