It was all about the money and fame for her - if she loved Elvis like she said she did, she wouldn't have sold her stories like this and accused such a great man of rape.
The fact remains that once Cilla had Lisa Elvis wouldn't touch her in a sexual way anymore...he "couldn't have sex with the mother of his child" I found that very strange but oh well. There are only 3 ppl who know what REALLY happened and thats Elvis, Cilla and GOD. So I feel we should not be here to judge anyone..lest we be judged ourselves.
Elvis NEVER raped Priscilla, what a load of SHIT! This is shameful! How dare they drag Elvis's name in this kind of crap! I wanna punch the scriptwriter!
Respect to msmithstud, have you read the Memphis Mafia book too? Agree with what you said. If you put elements of this film with the Jonathan Rhys Meyers take (Elvis the Early Years) we would have a heck of a picture!
Marty Lacker said elvis had a saying, ''never take a sandwich to a banquet''. He said it in the movie while talking to Cilla on the phone while she was at graceland and he was in Bel Air while telling her to stay at home and keep the home fires burning. He loved her but had no intentions of marrying her. It took 5 years for him to make good on his promise to her father that if he allowed cilla to come live at Graceland then he would marry her. The marriage was a PR move brought on by Col Parker
Worst Elvis Presley life movie ever made. Biggest crock of screen recorded coward bullsit ever. Cowards making big money who never had the balls to write a movie trashing the life image of Elvis Presley when he was alive.
Typical bullshit trash American character assination after every famous person dies.
I can't believe this movie, when she told Elvis that she was leaving he looked like he was ready to beat her but in the book Elvis said how could he have been so blind and wrapped up to of not seen this coming so he clearly understood but this movie makes him seem real vicious and mean. BOO!
Also, Dale Midkiff did a Stupendous job playing Elvis. His eyes were just mezmerizing and georgeous; so expressive, espescially the last scene where he asked cilla to take him back and he broke down in the car. I cry every time I see it.
@ONENIGGER2ANOTHER -You have your opinion. But I agree with you that Kurt Russell was fantastic! I liked both movies alot and I too compare the two different stars, both different versions, both great. Hey, have you ever seen the movie called ELVIS with Jonathan Rhys Meyers, the miniseries. I liked him, but what really made the movie was that when he sang, it was the ACTUAL voice of ELVIS!!! It is great. They also show smidgets of the real Elvis during scenes as entry to army and songs.
I've read many of the books written by the people who knew him, and in them Elvis admitted he had hell of a temper. His mom and dad too. He pretty much ruined the marriage. But he was a very complex man, with many emotional problems. I love him to death and feel sorry for him no matter what. He gave to the world what he had and handled himself the best he could with what only God knows he had inside him. He was human, vulnerable and on....But he was a lovely man loved by many!!!!!!!
@Adweach she then dating others, of course. 1 was Bob Kardashian and Michael Edwards, with whom she was with for years until 85 when she met Marco Garibaldi. She and Garabaldi have broken up and have a son together, which you probably already know about. Edwards wrote a book, ''Priscilla, Elvis, and Me. There's a lot of sensationalism in the book. I haven't read it, but Priscilla apparently wasn't too happy bout it.
@Adweach Priscilla also made Garibaldi sign something promising that he would not write a book about the 2 of them if they were to break up, which they already did. Mike Stone also sold his story to the STAR tabloid back in the 70's after their break up as well.
Hi guys, I was reading the comments and gathered that Cilla has a book out, I wasn't aware of this.. Would anyone be able to tell me the name of that book?
Compared to the movie with Kurt Russel as Elvis, this one really sucks.
You only need to watch "Elvis by the Presleys", "Thats the way it is" or "On Tour", to realize that Elvis wasnt that typical evel human they try to make him in this movie.
Surely he sometimes got mad, shouted and argued with his wife....Who doesent?? Thats normal.
But here they really made Elvis an evil human person..but I dont think He was that way. Not SO evil.
what a bitch to lay that trip on him just before a show. She was basically asking him to choose between her and being who he was, she knew all about him when they met.
i know this movie was not the best but i do like the moment when they hug he relized he meesed up and he knew she was done but the real story only those two will ever know as it should be between a husband and wife also remember when they make a movie they always make things a little bit different than what really happend u cant fit nearly 20yrs of story into a movie
He did not rape her she was trying to seduce him and then did not like the way he responded! Both my daugther (twice) and me have been VIOLENTLY raped it sure and blazes was not how she describes this in the movie! I hate women who "cry" rape they make it hard on the women who really got raped!
So sorry you and your daughter have been abused in this way. The men who do it are scum.
If I knew who the culprits were I'd chop them into a million pieces. And even then, there'd be no compensation for how you and your daughter were treated by them, because death is easy. Rape, not so ... you have to live with it. I could not possibly even try to understand, so I won't pretend that I know how it feels.
@Moseslawgiver Thank you for your kind words. Both those rapists are on the streets right now. My daughter already was a special needs child and then for that monster to rape her! The cops told me it was my fault for being raped because I was out drinking, and if something happen to "Robert" they were going to come get me and lock me up!
For one Elvis was a gentleman he didnt rape her and next if I was cilla I would make him sit his but down I would stand up to him...she's too wuss and I wouldn't let him treat me anyhow
@rickigr40 I agree. Also I hate the deception she pulled. He married her thinking she was a virgin when its all in the book child bride that she slept with 4 men just to meet him. And she was 14 at the time. When the book came out she said "I just wish the writer didnt make me look like such a tramp" Well Cilla it is what it is.
you guys dont know Elvis, you never met him you only know the concert guy the one that sings songs and tours, Priscilla lived with him, was married to him, she knew what he was like you people dont so dont say Priscilla is evil or shes lieing you dont know if she is? you never met her. Nor have you ever walked in her shoes, so grow up kay? thanks. Bye.
i do believe that he went off on her sometimes...however i don't think that it was him..i think it was all the drugs he was taking that made him lash out that way..idc i still love him..even if this movie portrays him the way that he really was...all of this does not take away from the MUSIC. which should be the most important thing to think about when you think about Elvis!!!!
I have magazines and books of that time but not with me currently. When I receive them probably in Nov. I will contact you and or send copy of the interview if you wish to give me your email and or facebook contact. I am relocating right now
Actually I read an interview of elvis right after the seperation where he stated it did not take them long to realize they should never had married. I believe him over any thing anyone else says, loosing Lisa did hurt him
@msmithstud I don't think she could think that far ahead. She was in love and intimate with him at 14, that's a pretty huge thing. She probably kept the name because he was the 'first', she loved him and was the most influential person in her life.
All the stuff about Elvis talking to his dead twin & visiting his grave that they showed in that movie, & have used to create whole psych studies on him is MADE UP. The reason I know this is the people who were around Elvis for 20 plus years have stated they never heard him talk about his twin who was born dead much less talk TO HIM! The only woman who has mentioned anything is June saying Elvis was told he had to live for two, but that was Gladys telling her that--not Elvis!
Also, there is NO way he could have visited the grave as shown. The grave was unmarked because they couldn't afford a marker, and Elvis never found it when he attempted to move Jessie Caron's body to be near his mother when she died. That is why they have a memorial plaque at Graceland.
Yes, Elvis was very upset by his mother's death, but as I said, never mentioned his twin, and Priscilla leaving killing him is ridiculous. She left him DEC 30, 1971 & told him she no longer loved him.
He told everybody the next day, but he was NOT UPSET. If he was going to be upset, it would have been then. There is no way that killed him almost 6 YEARS LATER! In fact he had one of his affairs in for his birthday Joyce Bova, and asked her to move into Graceland. She didn't move in, but did stay at times. Then he had a whole bunch of other women. This is romantic garbage probably perpetuated by Priscilla! Larry Geller asked Elvis if he wanted Priscilla back & Elvis said emphatically NO!
@epmelodygirl she is so full of herself, what a ego she has as well as vanity and greed, so narcasistic and self intitled. This movie was all about her, and of course more money, any Priscilla fan should realize after this that she degrades Elvis and if your a Elvis fan then you should have no respect for her at all.
@epmelodygirl There are several accounts of women stating that Elvis told them he had a twin...it was something he shared with women. He almost never opened up to men...not until the very end of his life. I heard Joe Esposito say in an interview that Elvis opened up to women about his feelings and rarely if ever to men. Also it is known within the family that Gladys talked to Elvis about his twin throughout his life and told him he was living for two. He was very aware of his twin all his life.
if anyone has watched the movie with Kurt Russell as Elvis. there is one part where you see him sitting in a dark room and you see his shadow on the wall he is talking to his twin Jesse Garon. and he states that he feels like there is something missing inside himself. Not everything is Priscilla's fault. and I dont get why everyone is blaming everything on her. Elvis was a great man but he was not perfect. he was human and no one knows everything that happened between them.
it's true tht nobody knows wht rly happened between them...but i think tht they loved each other a little bit too much tht's why it ended and 78michaeljackson got it right
We will never really know the whole story... Maybe it is best that we don't... In all honesty.. He was haunted by 3 things..
The death of his twin...
The death of his Mom
Losing Cilla
I think he slowly killed himself... The drugs just sped up the process... Sad but after his Mom died and the loss of his brother are my top 2 reasons for his fast decline....
I love this man because he has never cheated on stage and at the same time Elvis made me laugh because he never liked that song, "Burning Love" was a nightmare for him!
Ok I know that some people may jump down my throats for this but truly nobody knows what happen except them and Im sure that Priscilla is trying to paint herself in a better light because how would you feel if since u where eighteen years old is that ur a cheater or your being cheated on or that your husband never really loved you he just did it because you forced him into it. I dont htink Elvis was as bad as she portrays him to be but maybe thats how she saw him somtimes and who are we to judge
this movie is such a mess, i can't stand it. even his wig is a mess, he looks like one of this crazy impersonators. but she looks like hell of a woman! kind and smart and beautiful. and he all of a sudden is just a monster with a strange wig who cannot sing, and even do not need to sing, because it's enough to just wave his hand on stage! bulshit movie
Anna...you are so right. By making him look bad, it is one more way to make him look worse and justify her cheating and leaving even more! She also makes Mike Stone look better!
Melody...also so right. Those virgin bride claims did make her look more special--not just another girlfriend!
and how conveinient for Priscilla that Elvis is no longer around to defend himself against the slander she has cultivated over the years - only to cash in - that woman has no integrity, she's nothing but a sell out!
Yeah the movie sucked as soon as they put that wig on Dale. It's all based off of Priscilla's so called book and it made him look like a monster and Priscilla the princess. I beleive she is really regretting it now.
I dont understand how everyone is so fast to take his side no one lived with him and no one knows what happens behind closed doors of a marriage. I just don't think people need to be so fast to judge her and say she islying just because they adore elvis. he was great and i feel so sorry for him that she left but it takes two. Just saying know one knows what really happened, and yes he is the king, however he wasnt perfect.
they did love each other very much. It was his career and doing what he did you couldn't be married. They go back and they talk about anita wood. It wasn't that Elvis couldn't decide . I think that he just didn't hav the nerve to tell anita that it was over and that he was in love with someone else. Not that he didn't have feelings for anita. You know in Elvis and me it showed that priscilla and him did not have sex til marriage. Priscilla was special to him.. Priscilla only wanted him..
She made the "tech" virgin bride claim in Elvis and Me the book and movie, but even if you just go by that, she wasn't really a virgin since they were doing every other sex act since she visited when she was 17. She said in her book he satisfied her every desire. However she has refuted those "tech" virgin claims in later interviews laughing and saying "Of course we were having sex" but referring to after she moved in at age 18.
Also, Elvis did love Anita Wood, and he shows in his love letter to her written in Germany not long before he left because he is telling her about return plans.See my channel. If he didn't love her, he wouldn't have resumed seeing her when he returned & moved her into GL. Anita did overhear Elvis telling his dad he was having a hard time deciding between them, & moved out 8/62--Elvis went after her. Elvis was having having affairs with his leading ladies too, and Anne Helm stayed at GL also.
She says in her book Elvis wouldn't tell her he loved her in Germany except for once on last day, but still said he didn't know how he felt & it needed time. Then as she says, he hadn't called in 6 months, but she kept writing asking to visit. Six months looks like forgetting to me if she hadn't kept at it She also said she knew she had to get back or lose him forever. Priscilla wanted only him? She dated boys for 3 yrs in high school, had at least 2 affairs & left him for Stone!
I didn't make it clear--Anne Helm stayed between Anita & Priscilla and said Elvis really liked sex and everybody would leave on cue when they wanted to make love. This just makes it clearer Elvis & Priscilla were doing the deed.& I'm sure she brought out her whole arsenal on those 62 trips to get him interested in moving her in! Elvis was a normal 27 yr old guy who's pattern showed he went as far as his "good girls" would let him go and the "bad girls" were a given!
Cignal74 That is another reason Priscilla promoted those virgin bride claims so she would look special, and not like just another live in girl friend which she was for years. If he had wanted to marry her that bad, he would have when she was 18 and moved into Graceland. Other reasons are her parents were being accused of forcing Elvis to marry her which they talk about in Elvis by the Presleys & which I don't believe, and they had lied to her parents about sleeping together!
even tho there are some things in this movie that make Elvis look bad, i still feel like i am really getting to know from watching this movie... Elvis wasnt perfect and neither was Cilla, but they loved eachother very much. right til the end. i<3elvis. always and forever.
Don't get me worng, I love this movie. But I don't like how they turns Elvis into an abusive husband, he wasn't like that at all. And he didn't rape Cilla, she didn't write that in her book. It seems to me that the people who made this movie added things to make the movie more dramatic.. And I don't think that's fear to Elvis. Love and miss you Elvis, you will always be the king!
indiegurl02 Priscilla calls it "making love" three times in that paragraph. She never calls it rape, and never says "No" like here. She doesn't say he forced her either, but says he "forcefully made love to me." and says "It was uncomfortable and unlike any other time he'd ever made love to me before" There is a big difference between that and a rape which is a violation of a person either physically, mentally or spiritually. If it was a rape, she should have called it a rape in her book!!
@issyx91 I know how you feel. As the general public we fall in love with our idols and their genious. Elvis was beyond words. Still, we can't make claims about their personal lives as we have no idea except what is written. Reading news, biographies, watching his concerts and his movies does not mean we knew how Elvis ticked.
@issyx91 In her book she states that he forcefully made loved to her and she didn't want to so in some way that's rape but she said he was drunk at the time but still he had sex with her against her will. Other than that this movie makes him out to be a total wife beater which he wasn't. I just think he didn't like other men looking or touching Priscilla but he didn't see anything wrong with sleeping with other girls. I agree with you though on everything. :)
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Damm Elivis had a good woman. If he left the drugs party life and women alone he would of still had her. He didnt ask him to quit performing should stop doing what he was doing.
elvis and me, it's MUCH better than the movie, but it's also from here side, so you know, theres a lot of : Poor little priscilla, things in it, that i dont like, but there is a lot of beautifull love story things :)
I think priscilla is a very strong women. It took alot of courage to do what she did. she is right when she quotes in her book that you control your own destiny. I admire her.
It was all about the money and fame for her - if she loved Elvis like she said she did, she wouldn't have sold her stories like this and accused such a great man of rape.

Yeah the actress playing Cilla is so pretty but the Elvis they
Picked looks nothing like Elvis. Talk about picking an actor not
to upstage the Cilla role in the movie. If Elvis wasn't in the title,
there would be No Movie here.
I think Micheal St. Gerarld looked a lot Elvis but Kurt Russle and
Rick Peters got the personality down. At least the public image of
what Elvis was, " the Image is one and Human being is Another"

Elvis never had such a long entrance..the audience never waited that long.

The only woman who has mentioned anything is June saying Elvis was told he had to live for two, but that was Gladys telling her that--not Elvis!
epmelodygirl 2 years ago 4
Also, there is NO way he could have visited the grave as shown. The grave was unmarked because they couldn't afford a marker, and Elvis never found it when he attempted to move Jessie Caron's body to be near his mother when she died. That is why they have a memorial plaque at Graceland.
Yes, Elvis was very upset by his mother's death, but as I said, never mentioned his twin, and Priscilla leaving killing him is ridiculous. She left him DEC 30, 1971 & told him she no longer loved him.
epmelodygirl 2 years ago 5

ElvisFreak77 2 years ago 5
@epmelodygirl Really? I didn't know that. Where did you find it? Thanks
lolamp5312 1 year ago
@epmelodygirl There are several accounts of women stating that Elvis told them he had a twin...it was something he shared with women. He almost never opened up to men...not until the very end of his life. I heard Joe Esposito say in an interview that Elvis opened up to women about his feelings and rarely if ever to men. Also it is known within the family that Gladys talked to Elvis about his twin throughout his life and told him he was living for two. He was very aware of his twin all his life.
natemini 1 year ago
@natemini ..yeah the kurt russell Elvis movie touched on that (being in touch/aware of his twin brother)
vardiss22 1 year ago
if anyone has watched the movie with Kurt Russell as Elvis. there is one part where you see him sitting in a dark room and you see his shadow on the wall he is talking to his twin Jesse Garon. and he states that he feels like there is something missing inside himself. Not everything is Priscilla's fault. and I dont get why everyone is blaming everything on her. Elvis was a great man but he was not perfect. he was human and no one knows everything that happened between them.
chrmedbabygirl 2 years ago
it's true tht nobody knows wht rly happened between them...but i think tht they loved each other a little bit too much tht's why it ended and 78michaeljackson got it right
YT1993 2 years ago
We will never really know the whole story... Maybe it is best that we don't... In all honesty.. He was haunted by 3 things..
The death of his twin...
The death of his Mom
Losing Cilla
I think he slowly killed himself... The drugs just sped up the process... Sad but after his Mom died and the loss of his brother are my top 2 reasons for his fast decline....

2:47 of "Love Me Tender" is all I like about this scene...lol
bealestbluesss 2 years ago 3
I love this man because he has never cheated on stage and at the same time Elvis made me laugh because he never liked that song, "Burning Love" was a nightmare for him!
Ahmet7261 2 years ago 4

Anna40322 2 years ago 51
Anna...you are so right. By making him look bad, it is one more way to make him look worse and justify her cheating and leaving even more! She also makes Mike Stone look better!
Melody...also so right. Those virgin bride claims did make her look more special--not just another girlfriend!
silverrose50 2 years ago 7
omg i know - the real Mike Stone wasn't nearly as good-looking as the guy who portrays him in this movie lol
phonegalfitness 2 years ago 5
and how conveinient for Priscilla that Elvis is no longer around to defend himself against the slander she has cultivated over the years - only to cash in - that woman has no integrity, she's nothing but a sell out!
phonegalfitness 2 years ago 7
@Anna40322
Yeah the movie sucked as soon as they put that wig on Dale. It's all based off of Priscilla's so called book and it made him look like a monster and Priscilla the princess. I beleive she is really regretting it now.
Schuch1963 1 year ago 7
@Anna40322

@Anna40322 its the best biography since Elvis' death!
lambertluvr94 9 months ago
they did love each other very much. Priscilla only wanted him..
clgal74 2 years ago
She made the "tech" virgin bride claim in Elvis and Me the book and movie, but even if you just go by that, she wasn't really a virgin since they were doing every other sex act since she visited when she was 17. She said in her book he satisfied her every desire. However she has refuted those "tech" virgin claims in later interviews laughing and saying "Of course we were having sex" but referring to after she moved in at age 18.
epmelodygirl 2 years ago 5
Also, Elvis did love Anita Wood, and he shows in his love letter to her written in Germany not long before he left because he is telling her about return plans.See my channel. If he didn't love her, he wouldn't have resumed seeing her when he returned & moved her into GL. Anita did overhear Elvis telling his dad he was having a hard time deciding between them, & moved out 8/62--Elvis went after her. Elvis was having having affairs with his leading ladies too, and Anne Helm stayed at GL also.
epmelodygirl 2 years ago 6
She says in her book Elvis wouldn't tell her he loved her in Germany except for once on last day, but still said he didn't know how he felt & it needed time. Then as she says, he hadn't called in 6 months, but she kept writing asking to visit. Six months looks like forgetting to me if she hadn't kept at it She also said she knew she had to get back or lose him forever. Priscilla wanted only him? She dated boys for 3 yrs in high school, had at least 2 affairs & left him for Stone!
epmelodygirl 2 years ago 3
I didn't make it clear--Anne Helm stayed between Anita & Priscilla and said Elvis really liked sex and everybody would leave on cue when they wanted to make love. This just makes it clearer Elvis & Priscilla were doing the deed.& I'm sure she brought out her whole arsenal on those 62 trips to get him interested in moving her in! Elvis was a normal 27 yr old guy who's pattern showed he went as far as his "good girls" would let him go and the "bad girls" were a given!
epmelodygirl 2 years ago 4
Cignal74 That is another reason Priscilla promoted those virgin bride claims so she would look special, and not like just another live in girl friend which she was for years. If he had wanted to marry her that bad, he would have when she was 18 and moved into Graceland. Other reasons are her parents were being accused of forcing Elvis to marry her which they talk about in Elvis by the Presleys & which I don't believe, and they had lied to her parents about sleeping together!
epmelodygirl 2 years ago 6
even tho there are some things in this movie that make Elvis look bad, i still feel like i am really getting to know from watching this movie...

Love and miss you Elvis, you will always be the king!
issyx91 2 years ago 38
Actually she does write about elvis forcing her to have sex. that is rape. no matter what way you look at it.
indiegurl02 2 years ago
indiegurl02 Priscilla calls it "making love" three times in that paragraph. If it was a rape, she should have called it a rape in her book!!
epmelodygirl 2 years ago 10
@issyx91 I know how you feel. As the general public we fall in love with our idols and their genious. Elvis was beyond words. Still, we can't make claims about their personal lives as we have no idea except what is written. Reading news, biographies, watching his concerts and his movies does not mean we knew how Elvis ticked.
Larnsey 1 year ago
@issyx91 In her book she states that he forcefully made loved to her and she didn't want to so in some way that's rape but she said he was drunk at the time but still he had sex with her against her will. Other than that this movie makes him out to be a total wife beater which he wasn't. I just think he didn't like other men looking or touching Priscilla but he didn't see anything wrong with sleeping with other girls. I agree with you though on everything. :)

Damm Elivis had a good woman. If he left the drugs party life and women alone he would of still had her. He didnt ask him to quit performing should stop doing what he was doing.

I think priscilla is a very strong women. It took alot of courage to do what she did. she is right when she quotes in her book that you control your own destiny. I admire her.
