I was so happy when i found this song! I have no clue what it means, but I was 10 when my mom replayed the video over and over! I'm delighted to hear it again! Wooot It cheers you up!
when that song was released i was 8. i sang it in a song contest for kids and i was totally was imitateting her and I won the 1 st place!! lol childhood memories :)
I would like to dissagree with you. Dafna is an excellent singer. I'm not sure what you mean by Viva should not be allowed. This is a great song and it should have won. that's my opinion.
@jude11011 And why not? "Viva" is a spanish word meaning "live". This song is clearly a rendition to latin rhythms so it makes sense to use a spanish word. Moreover, there are a numerous group of jews that still speak Ladino or Judaeo-Spanish.
I am of mixedrace decent and I simply love culture! This song has more of euro-feel to it..with a mix of eastern spice..great tune! I think in the UK they don't take this competiton very seriously but I simply love the different cultures and sounds of the world! Love it! Could somebody direct me to a websiet for Dafna Dekel (in english) Thanks!! :)
@Gman2006unit 2. Chorus: And if the girl won't "pull it off" She won't cry, won't declare this day her death Because it's just a sport, it's just a sport It's just a sport - a sport! Yeah life is a fast line and it's a sure thing But tonight I have a song and everthing is still open I feel like among us here in the promised land You'd understund him who is ready to take the risk
@Gman2006unit 3. And I have no will to sound fancy All in all it's good and nice for me to do it unprofessionally With a guitarist and a percussionist and a cheeky keyboard player And with that chance of one to a thousand to fly above Chorus: And if the girl won't "pull it off" She won't cry, won't declare this day her death Because it's just a sport, it's just a sport It's just a sport - a sport!
lol when you look at it now you cant look at this preformance without think of sex. It almost sounds like she screams for someone to fuck her brains out, cuz the 2 drummers around her are gays and atract only to each other.
1990, 1991 and 1992 - in all these years, Israel really outdid themselves, as far as I'm concerned. I love this song; it's snappy, dance vibe. The end is classic, too. ;) "Baba-daba-babba-dobadee-DUM!" Bravo!
I'm in love with those eyes.

Very catchy song- deserved a higher placing. She was also great as a presenter- she co-presented ESC in 1999.

@Gman2006unit
1. I'm the prisoner of melody who's addicted to the ryhtm
That's why I believe in fighting sadness
To dance off all the burdens, to sing into the darkness
To plant for three minutes the sparklings of happiness
And I have no will to sound fancy
This presumption is a tiring thing
And I don't mind not to care, because the game makes me feel fun
If there's a chance of one to a thousand to fly above

This was a great Israeli entry, and not as corny and formulaic as some of their other offerings.
