I liked this movie too. Statham got a pretty good charakter... but I liked Tyrese Gibsons charakter "Machine Gun Joe" more. And another thing I like in movies as in video games is the following: the black guy who appears to be the antagonist, becomes the good buddy :) As it shoud be!!!! :)

This movie had one of the worst lines in movie history. the woman says "I'll show you how to shit on a sidewalk." as some sort of bizarre insult to jason statham almost left the theatre after hearing that.
She was running it. It's commen sense, she's mandating the cars, the Dreadnaught, the weapons, the defenseive weapons, and the immates, until the end, where EVERYTHING was blown up.
Now tell me, even IF she wasn't running it, how do you expect the jail to host a second death race if that jail doesn't exist?

I actually saw the movie and use 2 play all the Twisted Metal games. The big truck ur referring 2 was almost the exact vehicle of the driver Minion in Twisted Metal: Black. The funny thing is, before the truck even used its weapons I looked over at my girlfriend n said "I bet the truck has a giant flamethrower on it". N wouldnt u know it, 3 minutes later it used the flame thrower. My girlfriend thought I was crazy until I explained why I knew that. But still a great movie.

Bad story and bad directing. I liked the cast, with the exception of chase, Jason's in car navigator, who frankly is the worst actress I have seen on the big screen for 5 years. I never planned on watching this but I came home and 6 of my friends had just bought it on PPV (ON MY TV) and i just sat to join in.
It was so much fun cause I called everything.
I liked the movie 'cause I was super hyper and all the action was awesome BUT as far as a great movie, it's not all that.
I think i was drugged that night.

3. Notice the similarity of the voice of the "Coach" in Death Race with the "Director" in Manhunt.

saw it!!! awesome!!! and would and will go see it again! THERE IS A PLOT - but could be easly missed by stupid overlookers or people who just dont pay attenchen to the movie. I give it an A+++ and highly rekon! it to everbody that loves action/death/bloody/explosive movies! but like i said pay attenchen to everything - youll relize there is a great plot to the whole thing that makes everything make more sence!

and thank you for proving my point, the movie clearly has some appeal to the 12 year old male audiance, but no one over the age of 15, unless as mentioned earlier is retarded, will enjoy this movie. A cheap laugh here and there, followed by one or two decent action scenes where the camera actually stays still long enough so that you can apreciate the destruction is all there is here. Dont pay to see it.

Bad story and bad directing. I liked the cast, with the exception of chase, Jason's in car navigator, who frankly is the worst actress I have seen on the big screen for 5 years. The sloppy cuts during the race combined with a camera man who clearly has parkinson's disease makes it very hard to enjoy. Half the time you will be wondering who just died. Your average 10 year old could have written a better script. It's the action equivelant of a Will Ferral Movie, If your retarded you'll like it.

what i like about this movie was the fact that the main protagonist actually kicked some serious ass, maiming included. usually you would just see the main character get his ass tortured and he gets revenge ONLY by beating the enemy in some peaceful, more to be deserved manner.

I personaly haven't seen this movie myself,don't get me wrong it looks wicked..But i feel they tried to hard to interpret a wickedly brutal game called twisted metal and bring it to the big screen...Jason is a great actor i will admit but to all you gamers out there wouldn't you have rather seen a real criminal out there on the track called Sweettooth him and his pimped out ice cream truck murdering innocent people...lol just my opinion.
