  • Thank you thank you, since i started doing flam accents for some reason i couldnt get ir right, this approach you used here is amzing! i started doing the exercises and in a matter of 1 hour of practice i was doing FLAMS! like you on the video (not as good, yet lol), thank you so much, i will check your website and subscribe for sure.

  • I'm not sure exactly what you are asking, but I will take a stab at it.

    The exercise is written in 12/8, so you can count the breakdown as follows:

    1 - 3 4 5 - 7 - 9 10 11 -

    your right about it being in 12/8 but there is no rest in the exercise

    you can actually count like

    1 2+3 4 5+6 7 8+9 10 11+12

    but you wont be able to count that fast so just try and sing it lol, idk thats what i do for anything thats in 12/8

  • this video helped me a lot. it taught my not to bounce my left hand taps, which made me left hand stronger and more solid.

  • Wow dude. You are way to caught up in modern drumming. I don't know where you were taught that "rudiment" but that is not a flam accent. A flam accent is Right hand flam, left tap, right tap, Left hand flam, right tap, left tap. Whoever told you that that was a flam accent was wrong.

  • thats what is doing... he just broke it down to help understand what both hands are doing

  • Correct. CAFan... check out the music on my website and you will see that the flam accent is exactly as you described it.

  • Thats what it does as drumlinekicksass and snarescience already explained...he just broke it up so as to show us how to play the core of the excercise..and i'm not sure what you mean by "proper drumming" but I am sure that he has better technique and speed than 95% of drummers.
