The things that dreams are made of eh? After watching The Bootleg Beatles a few years ago I had the idea of a Rutles cover band. But you guys beat me to it and are so much better than I could ever be. Keep up the good work. It's great to know that Rutlemania lives on!
I wish the fan base was bigger, I would am watching all your tracks , love it !!!!!
goose step muma, , I loved it when they went and had tea with the queen, one of my favourite lines "do you feel better after seeing the queen" answer " no you feel better after seeing the doctor" " not my doctor". just great stuff.
I have only been to the states once 1976 , I proposed to my first wife on top of the south tower, trade buildings ( very sad now) I have always wanted to go back but I never had cash
Brilliant are you guys coming to the UK because I will pay to see you, as I love the Rules and every song could have been written by John or Paul Awrsome! you guys are really good
Thanks for the kind words. We would love to come to England some day and perform but it's quite a long way from Austin, Texas. Perhaps some day we'll make it to Liverpool for Beatle week.
Mike , thank you for replying , I live in Gillingham in Kent about 1 hour from London, So make it London! I tell you if I had the money I would come to Austin , were I believe a lot of famous American's come from. I will just have to keep watching you on You tube, I really enjoy watching you , but there is nothing better watching you live I bet. Don't you think that the Rutles were just fantastic Mike?
All of the member of Ouch! love the Rutles or we wouldn't be performing their songs! We are hoping to add some of the songs off of their "Archaeology" album at some point. Most likely Rendezvous and Questionnaire. I've only been to London once many years ago in 1995, and loved it. Cheers.
Neil Innes is nothing short of a genius. And this deserved to have been released, it is that good a song, regardless of whether it's a Beatles parody or not.
i am shocked..... and stunned..... yeah, shocked... and stunned, at how cool this is! a rutles tribute band. how much hipper can you get, really? thanks! xD
I have an idea for you guys: Why don't make a special Tribute to the Rutles and complete their work, what means: Take some other Beatles-songs and write parodies of them, in the style of Rutles? It would be a tribute to the Pre-Fab Four, Dirk, Ron, Stig and Barry too.
The Rutles live on! Back in 1978 the entire album was played on FM-CKLG (the forerunner of CFOX in Vancouver) about a week before the program was to air.
This generated a lot of excitement amongst my friends and I (aged 17 at the time), because we were fans of SNL, Monty Python and of course the Beatles.
The RUTLES were the in thing that during that summer for me. I am pleased and astonished that STILL today, they are held in such high regard as to spawn a tribute band. Well Done!
Superb! And long overdue. By the way, if our American friends have ever wondered what 'pre-fab four' means, 'pre-fab' is short for prefabricated. It refers to the cheap, factory-made houses that were put up in Britain in huge numbers to replace those destroyed by Goering's boys in World War 2. They were surprisingly durable - I believe a few survive today.
Seriously, this made my day. Oh. My. Goodness.

I was fully expecting this to be awful but it's actually shit-hot! Sounds even more like early B**tles than The Rutles did. Good work.
