How to Set up the City of Heroes Test Server so you can access it.

Part 1.

1) Search your computer for the file names "CohUpdater.exe." This should be located in your City of Heroes program file unless you chose to install the game in another location than the default location.

2) Create a shortcut to the cohupdater.exe file in the City of Heroes folder.

3) Open the properties menu of this new shortcut. You can do this by right clicking on the short and choosing "properties."

Part 2.

4) Add "[space]-test" to the end of the line in the Target window. The line should now look like this:

"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.exe" -test

5) Run the new shortcut. You will be asked if you want to install the test client server to the default directory, and though you can install it there, it is recommended that you install this server in a different place from your regular game client.

6) After installation, run the client. The test server interface functions just like the live server interface.

It's a Good idea to rename the startup shortcut "city of heroes test."

Is there anything unstable in the test server that might cause damage to my computer?

As far as I know the test server is no more unstable then live, they use it for testing patches and Issue updates. Often strange things will happen on test because of bug and other testing but it's safe.

Yes... it costs $16.19 a Month where I live, however there are FREE 14 and 30 day trials out there. Go to official website for a free trial and see what you think, I've been playing for over 3 years and still enjoy it. The graphics in the game are way better then what you see on youtube, youtubes compression is bogus, glad for new 1gig upload option on youtube.

i just played it, well i couldn't move or talk or anything because either my laptog can't handle it or it was the server I was on.

Email them and let them know, the Developers will help you figure out what you need to do to play. Visit a LAN store or friend and play it on a system that you know can handle it. Check your laptop and make sure all drivers are up-to-date, for your video disabling Vertical Sync and changing screen resolution can sometimes help. If that all fails at least you know the free trial is free and your out no money. I hope you can get it running, it's truly a fun game with a rightous community.

Check the graphics on it once u logg in and play tats wat i had to do because it seems laggy and u cant hardly move the graphics are set on the highest for some reason so change taht and u should be able to move if u havent already figured it out

Sorry there are no private servers running this game you must have an NCSoft account and either be using a free trial or full version of the software Key.

You must be level 25, if your AT has done any Missions involving Dimensional Travel or will do you will recieve a power that let's you open a 5 minute gate from anywhere to there again and again. Or be level 25 and enter a gate someone else has opened and do a Mission there.

You get the badge named "Entrusted with the Secret" this unlocks a power in your tray called "Summon Ouroboros Portal."

Yes but just one mission (as far as I know) any mission involving dimensional travel. Or do any of the missions in the Ouroboros zone.
