  • The only reason why I can see anyone disliking ODST was because it was so short. Other than that, what's there to not like?

  • @Sevv9220 It didn't fit with previous Halo art direction. That's what it was for me. I still liked it, just not near as much as other Halo games. There was almost no change in setting, which Halo has always had. Halo always takes you somewhere no other game ever has. ODST dropped you in a futuristic city. Little creativity. Little mystery. Also, they tried to make it seem open world, but it was still linear. The other Halos didn't lie about it, they embraced it. Still a great game though.

  • @siknasty87 Wow! Hell of a description. I gotta say I definitely see where you're coming here. What do you think they could have done to make it better?

  • @Sevv9220 I mean, I can see how it did little to progress with the storyline and that it went it's own way and all

  • Overall, as a game, ODST was at least decent. however as far as in-game atmosphere and tone, it felt amazing. It touched into that sort of mysterious, blade runner-esqe quality that went mainly unexplored by the halo trilogy ever since the first game with missions like "the swamp" and for that I think odst went appallingly unrecognized.

  • 3:04 I love this part!!

  • Every Halo Fan, will love these Halo 3: ODST Tracks. I like them better than the rest of them. I personally like "Then Rookie" track the best... It always reminds me of falling through the sky.

  • probably my favorite halo campaign so far. i especially enjoyed this track.

  • In this case ODST is One Dark Street Traveler

  • @Spartanparty911 Well done.

  • The last part of the song sounds like it could play in a night level of Sonic Unleashed (either Adabat or Holoska)

  • thumbs up if you found all of the secret supply garages on legendary

  • Thing about ODST is... I felt SO lonely wandering around the city...

  • If they make a Halo Reach ODST I will buy it so fast

  • @7526Yellow hell yeah, that would be fucking awesome!

  • @7526Yellow halo 1 ODST :)

  • Master Chief disliked this because he wasn't in the game.

  • @mrcheekyface1 Master chief was in ODST, right at the beginning in your pod, you see a small speck go towards the super carrier- that is the chief.

  • I always found this to be the most "human" of the games; there's no-one to help you but your gun, your wits and your training, just like in a real combat situation. The music only accentuates that fact.

  • @bigfatcarp93 yeah, I loved planning strategies for sneaking up on the covenants. The night vision is awesome.

  • ODST was an amazing experience. True, it's not for everyone... if you're someone who favors action-based, reflex-reliant, non-cerebral gameplay, then maybe ODST is not for you (not that I have anything against that crowd). But ODST is an amazing, immersive, intellectual experience... the exploration, the lonlieness, the brilliant cast of characters, and of course this AWESOME FUCKING SOUNDTRACK!

  • My favorite! ^^

  • ODST had the best soundtrack.

  • Every time I hear the part from 0:00 to 1:26 I picture a lone ODST trooper looking up at the rain, and seeing the raindrops hit his visor.

  • @PiNoIbOi95 I actually imagine an introduction to a rain *the drum roll as thunder flashes and the tune as rain* and then an odst walking lonely *the small alarm thingy the gunshots and noices at the background of the dead city* the odst walking slowly, scared looking at the buildings at night ...destroyed and when heavy rythm enters enemy patrol coming odst fighting when calm jazzy tune comes I imagine odst killed 1st wave and runs to hide in buildings for reinforce from covenant :D.

  • @PiNoIbOi95 You can read peoples minds, cant you?

    :*)

  • ahh the memories....back when this game wasnt hated

  • First part reminds me of resident evil 1

  • i like the other half of the track :P

  • @ISTeslaYT Why was Halo Reach so bad? honestly i played halo since CE and i find Halo Reach better in almost all aspects. Remember Reach.

  • Comment removed

  • Halo CE = Awsome the Gpa of the halo series

Halo 2 = The best the Gpa of multiplayer and X-box partys

Halo 3 = Awsome multiplayer, Forge

    ODST = Awsome! firefight soundtrack

Reach = Too much to say its all awsome accept when noble team dies even though Karter dies epically along with emile and jeorge.

  • @AuJusGravy i hated kat's death, while everyone else died doing something for the team, Kat is just running and she gets killed and thats it?

my favorite character's death was George

  • halo 2 and halo 3:ODST have the best sonudtracks

  • Whoever disliked this should go in a Covenant Battleship and die... This is a beautiful peice of music. :')

  • this song is awesome but kinda freaks me out in the beginning

  • @seelkadoom1 so imagine you i at 12:00 at night earing the song lol

  • halo 2 halo 3 and halo 3 odst will be remembered as the best ever

  • @whocares1243

what about halo 1 and reach and wars

  • @GunStreets halo wars doesnt count in wat i was talking about and i guess i forgot that one and reach but many people dont like reach as much as halo 3

  • @whocares1243

    correction

more people liked halo reach much more than 3

most people feel, 3 was the most disappointing

  • @GunStreets well i see but i hear a lot of people complaining that reach sucked and halo 3 is better i think halo 3 and reach are amazing games but they cant compete cuz halo reach has a different style of gameplay because of the armor abilities i dont find halo 3 disappointing i still play it actually

  • The best music to listen to while working on something, or doing homework.

  • @blackchaos23 agreed

  • 3:10 goes epical

  • And people didn't like ODST. Bah. I found it to truly capture the tension of being a lone rookie surviving in the streets of New Mombassa. Play on Heroic, see what I mean.

You are a rookie. You've awoken into a dark, ruined metropolis with towers stretching high above you and covenant patrols roaming about. All over, you see graffiti, dead elites and blind corners. A light guides you, the Superintendent, but that light is fleeting. Your heart pounds, you grip your gun tightly; you are an ODST.

  • @RevonZZ Corrections:Elites Left When The Covenant Carrier Jumped Inside The City *Thus Taking All The Elites with it and no corpses left no model files :P* You are not a rookie they call you rookie cause you are the new guy in the squad

Captain Dare: " Replacements?" trust me he is badass :P but all you say above I agree.

  • @RadioOperator01 Play bucks mission, elite corpses.

  • @ryakoasakora Correction! There are elites thus why they are using the general MP Elite models they just do not have "spawn" AI thank you ryakoasakora...wanted to comment on that correction one of these days * played it a month ago*

  • @RadioOperator01 I'm not sure if you caught what I was trying to point out, you said no corpses left, but there was multiple elite corpses through-out the city, no AI to control them, just dead elite rag dolls.

This was done to show the brutes taking control and things were going on behind the scenes of the covenant hierarchy, as humans didn't know this was going on during halo 2.

  • @ryakoasakora that's what I meant -_-

  • @RevonZZ Playing on Legendary is better for that feeling believe me I experienced it.

  • @RevonZZ reading your comment makes me want to play ODST again

  • @RevonZZ yea, i loved ODST!

  • @RevonZZ ODST convinced me that uber realistic graphics ain't all that makes a good game. No matter the year.

  • @RevonZZ ODST started off incredibly. As soon as the whole NOPE GOTTA SAVE DA WERLDZZZ thing came in, it started to suck. Untill the last mission or so though, pretty awesome.

  • @RevonZZ Mmhmm. Preach it!

  • @RevonZZ I agree man. Odst is the best.

  • the opening reminds me of the song "who are you" in final fantasy 7

  • the perfect song to play when your kicking ass at night

  • very intense, you can almost feel the gun in your hand and your harsh breathing as your adrenaline raises. then your breath catches when you see a squad of covenant, you know that there are two more squads patrolling ahead of the one in front of you and that you must either face them, or find a way past them, you turn weary....(the choice is yours)

  • @animefinalfantasyix You back away into the shadows, hoping the soft darkness will grant you a few seconds of time. Finger on trigger, you crouch, and creep off to the right. A soft light prouts up from one of the signs: "you are not alone, walk --->" the arrow plunges off into the further depths of the shadows....

  • Very amazing. Fresh without question, for this genre of gaming

  • Starting from 3:06, that sets the best mood for Mombasa Streets IMO.

  • 0:00 - 1:25 is sorta eerie and creepy.

  • when i played this i felt......alone. its like this music opened my mind to possibilities.

  • Ikr he has this awsome mix...piano...percusion..and sf...awsome

  • ODST Gameplay and the music gave me this weird, lonely, creepy feeling. Is that normal??

  • @TheVanillaWood the music is awesome!!!!

  • @TheVanillaWood Yes! I is normal.

  • @TheVanillaWood yes it is much normal

  • This reminds me back when i first played ODST with my friends.

  • I.... honestly think that some of these songs should have been carried over to Halo: Reach, Halo: Reach's music isn't all that great even if it is Bungie's last Halo game.

  • @ryushahkola I didn't like anything about the music in Reach, it was just repeating the same thing for every cutscene, and the rest went unnoticed really

  • @JazukaiX Yeah... The song for the multiplayer Beta trailer fit Reach perfectly but that's all i liked about it =/ and the cutscenes Lol

  • Guys if you have a Turtle Beach headseat, even one just for the Xbox, plug both (pink/green) cords and the power into your computer NOW. The epicness is just amazing.

  • lol the start bit sounds like a whale :D

  • @FACKnHEAD1 or the sound you make when you wake up

  • i think like 75% of the people that play this game mostly play it for the music

  • This song gives me shivers.. simply amazing. I love to fall asleep listning to Halo OST. I put a playlist running and then write in a shutdown command and then just get soothed to sleep by the tune's of martin and the rest of the amazing fellas making this music.

  • put this in reach and make me cry

  • I absolutely love this game.. Just the story and the enviroment a lone ODST trooper who is lost within an abandoned city in the rain trying to find his ODST Squad this music and just the imagination of walking in a dark city with the only light source of the neon lights on the roads and buildings with this jazz music in the backround makes it just perfect.

  • the beginning, omg!!

  • Halo-ween

  • whats the name of the song that plays from 1:27 to 2:14

  • My favorite track in the game.

I'd say my 3rd favorite track over all, behind The Halo Theme & Lone Wolf (Noble 6's theme)

  • one of the best tracks ever heard

  • Love it ODST wanna play it now

  • @Danzroo SCREW THAT!!!! IM PLAYING HALO REACH!!!

  • I love the way they Implemented the Jazz in here.. Way to go Martin :DD

  • Is this the track that plays on Mombasa Streets (the level where you're free to explore the city)?

  • what track is slow and sad (not rain) that playes after every single flashback????

  • @Andy3n2 It's called like "Bits and Peices" or something around that. Or "No Stone Unturned"

  • @TxtACRowetxT thankes but i found it...it was the finele

  • @TxtACRowetxT o my god...your right (forget that other comment) "bits and peices" is what i was looking for!!!!!

  • Probably the track that you can play in public without people freaking out. maybe one of the most artistic of the tracks, and not so dramatic like the others

  • halo 3 ODST was amazing, maybe not the best halo but it doesnt take a genious to realise that ODST has the most beautiful music in gaming history 8)

  • It's so beautiful! Touches my heart and soul... T ^ T

  • I was wandering the mombasa streets after i finished the game and the start of this song came on. Never have I felt so alone in a videogame.

  • Holy mother of a cow. This song is amazing.

  • I heard 3:05 while running around, and I just stopped to listen to it for awhile. I never heard it again, unfortunately, but I think thats it. So beautiful.

  • I have to say, I thought ODST was better Halo 3, mainly for the music, which is by far, the best music of halo, which by far, is the best music in gaming history

  • I LOVE IT but h3 sucked ass not h3 odst

  • I LOVE IT

  • Creepy at the start.

  • @WonkyTonkBotty i disagree, the start of the song up to 1:26 is amazing! easy piano but so unique! :)

  • Guitar is used correctly here in the beginning of this.

  • i feel as thought i bought odst just to listen to the music

  • @chuhucka: I would. This shit turns me on

  • this song is

    beautiful

  • @bigugly fuck you. How could this be funny? This is a true masterpiece

  • @bigugly415 Why weren't you aborted?

  • just the soundtrack alone sold millions.....its beautifuly done....well put together....and u can make love 2 ur wife 2 this lol

  • @chubphucka Who in the hell would make love to anyone while listening to Halo music?

  • The opening is just beautiful. The soft piano, then the "whooooooooo...." sound that reminds me of softly bowing wind..takes my breath away.

  • google mp3iffy to download this song from youtube.

  • I love this song so much and it calms me down and I start to think how could I get mad when this song plays..

  • this song really creeps me out

  • i love it when the music has that eerie whale like sound its so calming yet creepy

  • i wish that this song would follow me when im walking aorund out side at night.

  • @chubphucka sounds good to me man, sounds good to me... :)

  • 3:05 to the ending - ♥

  • longsword i have this one and traffic jam =P

  • 3:05 best part

  • Omg 1:00 LOVE IT :D:D:D:D:DD:

  • "Neon Night" and "Rain" are by far the best songs on the soundtrack--as a matter of fact, the best music ever composed on a game period. Well done Marty

  • @xxlongswordpilotxx Ever composed on a game? Gonna have to disagree with you there.

  • When your listening to this, it feels so dark, so lonely, so depressing, yet so amazing. When I hear it, I imagine the city before and after: bustling with night life, then dead and quiet. This is amazing

  • Best way to play ODST:

    All alone

    Lights off

    Volume up.

  • @Dethenger i always got my headphone on so i can do it so hard i can. :D

  • I always loved Halo's OSTs. THis song is perfect for the dark Noir effect of the dead city. I can just imagine the Rookie sitting down in some dark corner, head in hand.

  • it's romantic, yet eerie at the same time. unsual, yet awesome. probably a good song to put in either a depressing love movie or a creepy spine chilling zombie movie. by far, my favorite track of the soundtrack.

  • gives me shivers...i love it

  • I always see some sort of post apoc world when I hear this. and for some strange ungodly reason, reminds me of WALL-E.

  • 0:56 - 1:26 makes me visualize a creepy dead dark-city.. Makes me shiver.. :) Really amazing OST's !!!

  • this awesome I liked music at around 1:00 though...

  • This song is amazing, very well placed segments!

  • 3:03 - End

    I really liked that segment.

  • the beginning expresses high anxiety and nervousness and the need to keep on moving

  • i love the beggining

  • The simple touches in this are amazing! I love the echoes of the sax in the background, mixed with the piano. It is almost like the piano fits the mood, makes things feel desperate, while the sax is like echoes of what the city once was, before the war destroyed the life in it. Just my take on it, lol. Marty O'donnell Rules!

  • Couldn't have said it better.

  • I

    Love

    You

    (In a friendway)

This music can actually give you an emotional feel for where you are in your surroundings in the city. . . wow

  • its kind of spooky when you play alone

  • i know right, it kinda puts that sad scary mood in you, its an amzing feeling

  • Thank you so much for uploading this i love this soundtrack.

  • It is! Thanks a lot.

  • What track has the music that plays during the shootout on top of the tower, with all those Banshees zooming around?

  • skyline

  • skyline the part u want to here starts about half way

  • @HighPointYorkyz4Life I think its called the Menagerie

  • @619fan14 no it is skyline, menagerie is the track that plays during uplift reserve, but they are similar

  • percussion is so epic in this cd they are unblevible

  • I like the feel of the new soundtrack.

  • beautiful. marty has done it again.
