  • in the jurassic park films they made the velociraptors wrong cause they are to big in the movie and did not have feathers

  • @trex1547

    Definitely.

But I wonder if it eventually happened (talking about the feathers thing) because when they were filming it the fact velociraptors had feathers had not been discovered yet... I mean, many ground-breaking discoveries about dinosaurs are quite recent and consequence of the chance paleonthologists had to make reasearches in new places (China, for example)...

    Thank you for stopping by!

    ^_^

  • @danbergam the velociraptors are not even half the size of the one in the movie (they got it mixed up with another raptor

  • @trex1547

I always goes like this, movie industry always feels that need to exaggerate everything... as if dinosaurs weren't enough amazing and fascinating the way they already are! :-\

  • @danbergam well thats tv (the velociraptors in the movie are the same size as the utahraptors)

  • @trex1547

    Definitely!

  • @trex1547 I think that small Velociraptors weren't intimidating enough for Hollywood, so they made them the size of Utahraptor, but didn't want to call it that. Regardless, the movie wasn't bad.

  • wow this place looks cool.

  • @Xenomorph237

    It definitely is!

    :-)

  • Why do you put the face like : ^_^

  • @SethPwns41541

    Where did I put it?

  • @danbergam everywhere

  • Oh, sorry, I thought you were referring to the video!

Hehe, this is something I've learnt from a friend with a passion for oriental culture.

People of East Asia tend to use

    ^_^

    in place of

    :-)

I got to the point of using it... and I like it!

And the mystery is solved! ^_^

  • Bellissimo video :)

  • Grazie mille!

    ^_^

  • I just love them too!

    ^_^

  • modestamernte noi italiani ci sappiamo fare

  • Haha, concordo in pieno!

    Grazie per il tuo commento!

    ^_^

  • i love the chipmunk voices in this video

  • I had to speed-up things, in places, or, otherwise, there wouldn't have been space for too much of the footage!

  • why do they have to put feathers on velociraptor and its realitive they look retarded.they're like duh i'm gonna eat a lizard and fly because for some reason it had wings!the other ones were good at least deino didn't have them

  • In the last years palenthologists have been able to search for dinosaurs fossils in China, Mongolia and such... and they have found velociraptors' skeletons with the impression of feathers all around: that's how they have realized that velociraptors actually were feathered.

With research and discoveries it goes like that: today one gets used to something... and tomorrow they find out that that idea must be changed and updated.

  • I know why they have feathers but it makes them not look like dinosaurs like I said they stupid

  • I think that it's just that we are used, since decades, to think at dinosaurs like if they were non-feathered reptiles... so, if we are able to update our conception, reptiles with feathers will become a familiar concept.

Think, for example, to how dinosaurs were drawn 30 years ago: erect position, tail heavily standing on the ground... but lately they've realized that dinosaurs used to walk with their back and tail parallel to the ground: it only takes, for us, to update our knowledge.

  • lol you said erect JK im not that immature but I dont care if they have some feather here and there like the the tail and head but overdoing just ergs me.but I see where you going with that I mean my dad was used to brontosaurus being brachiosaurus and dinosaur being....wait for it...erect and sorry for my immatureness

  • I just googled it, and, thank Heaven, "erect position" is also used referred to dinosaurs: I didn't realize that... ^_^;; oh, well, english isn't my first language! xP

You got the point, we tend to get affectioned to conceptions.

But you're not immature, at all: an immature person wouldn't be able to think/say/write "I'm sorry for what I said/wrote/did"!

Anyway, that day I saw those feathered dinosaurs and I read the sign telling "Velociraptors" I was like...

    *looks with a shocked face*

    xD

  • one thing that was really wierd with this video was that one of those anamotronics are in my video.I got it of google images and I saw this video and said WTF?!at least I know where my lived

  • In your video as well? Interesting.

  • why does the maker comment more tha n watchers lol

  • I think it has something to do with my nature, with my attitude... I just like to communicate!

Oh, look... even now I've used more words than you! :-P

  • damn 7:13 was awesome

  • Really, the whole thing was just amazing! ^_^

    Thank you for stopping by!

  • Awesome, I like those anamotronic models.

  • They were definitely awesome... but I have to say that, somehow, the reproduction of the T-Rex skeleton at the beginning/entrance of the exposition impressed me the most... because it could actually have been the *real* bones of a *real* dinosaur...

    :-D

    ^_^

  • At 7:59 doesn't that dino look like a primate more than a bird? Don't all predators scavenge and aren't they all willing to take free mealw/out a fight?

  • "more than a bird"

It has quite long arms, but it still looks more like... a dinosaur, to me! ^_^

    "...w/out a fight?"

I guess (not sure, an entomologist'd know) fightings are, in nature, more like a last choice, only taken if the predator feels sure to win... or if it's just in desperate need of food!

They wanted to represent the various existing ways to get food.

Let's not forget, also, that this expo seemed conceived even for children of any age: too much blood would have scared them...

Come posso informarmi?? Aiuto!

    ^_^

  • Yes it does bear a striking resemblance to Jar Jar Binks. All you need are to put its eyes on stalks and give it long drooping ears, lose the tail and give it a more humanoid body and a very annoying whining voice.

  • You know what they say?

That many inventions/inspirations are, actually, remakings and revisits of old ones.

I'd say that Jar Jar Binks is a good example of this!

  • Lol. You wouldn't have a lap after that. Or legs for that matter.

  • I couldn't agree more!

Btw... this wouldn't apply if one was a giant!

    ;-D

  • li hanno ficcati nel padiglione della fiera in zona mostra dei violini?

  • :O

Non saprei! Spero di no, mi sarebbe dispiaciuto perdermi una mostra di violini!

    :-\

  • lol another riddle :-D... let me think ...gadget which may be used for world domination ... Pterodactyl eggs!!

  • Hahahahaha!

Oh, if only I had some of them! xD

    No.

    I would NOT fry them.

    xP

No, the gadget is something else! ;-)

  • Wow, amazing. You're lucky to've seen that!

The description really adds to the video and made me laugh at the same time =)

Again, thank you so much for sharing!

  • Definitely, most of the time I was watching them with my jaws fallen down!

    xD

Anyway, as far as I know they're touring (for *years*) the whole Europe: I wish you to have your chance for to personally see them, it's really worthy!

I'm so glad you liked my description! Haha, I filmed some of the footage in function of this video! xD

I'm badly addicted to YT! xD

Thanks so much *to you*, Leontine, for stopping by, watching and *so kindly* commenting! ^_^

Oh, look: you made me smile too! :-D

Ah, I LOVE them too! ^_^

But you know what? Now that they have leaved Italy (the exhibit is over)... I think that they might be somewhere else in the world!

And, I knew about this thing from the news at the TV; so you could find out, don't know when, that they're in tour right where you live! :-)

    Oh! Google this:

    have a good day

    Kate

  • Ah, dinosaurs always rule... at least in my heart! ^_^

I went to a dinosaurs exhibit, the last time, something like... more than 20 years ago! :O

So, this time, I was totally thrilled... and happy like a child! xD

Well, this video may be considered like... the whole tour (without reading all the tables near the dinosaurs! xD) packed in 10 minutes!

About the giant description... I confess you that I didn't read all of the links as well!

    :P

Have a good day as well, Kate! :-D

    Dan

  • nice.

  • Thank you very much!

  • Wow, that was pretty cool! Too bad I can't get to Italy that easily. :(

  • Yes, it's been cool!

Don't worry, I think that these two exhibits are touring the world... for sure, they periodically do it: I sincerely wish you to get a chance to visit them as soon as possible! :-)

  • Ok, I'll be sure to keep an eye out for them, then. Thank you! :)

  • You're welcome!

    Best luck! ;-)

    P.S.

    Have you ever googled:

    dinosaurlive

    ?

    It's just... unbelievable! :O

  • No, what is it?

  • It's a *live* version of the BBC series "Walking with dinosaurs".

Basically, they've made these lifesize dinosaurs (a mix between animatronic and puppetry) that *walk* around, roar and such, in real time, in a huge, enclosed space like an arena or a stadium.

It's just... amazing and really, really impressive!

They also have a page in YT: just search dinosaurlive

    and you'll find it!

I can't wait that they come in Europe!

    *drools*

    ^_^

  • Wow, that does sound pretty cool. Thanks!

  • You're welcome! ^_^

  • I checked it out. It's pretty awesome. I was impressed that they had an ankylosaurus, my favorite dinosaur.

  • ^_^

I just had my jaws fallen down, when I saw those videos... oh, the ankylosaurus is... giant!!! :O

I really want them to tour in Europe as well (I've read that they should make it through this year!!)... really, really... REALLY!

    ^_^

  • You should post some footage if you get to see the show.

  • Ah, you're more than right! ^_^

  • Yes, with that white-lettering commentary! :)

  • Haha, you can take it for granted!

    :-D

  • Alright! I look forward to seeing it!

  • Actually it was a Euoplocephalus, but it was in the same family as the ankylosaurids. It was earlier on in the Cretaceous period though.

  • You're more than right! ^_^

  • Freakin awesome!

  • Thank you so much! :-)

  • awesome vid

  • Thank you very much! ^_^

  • Thank you very much!

  • What an experience that was. I was cracking up when I saw the Edmontosaurus. Was it someone with a fancy sock over their arm sticking out of the wall? It reminded me of when I was a kid and use to put a sock over my hand and turn it into a sinster hand puppet monster. It would then commence it's assault on my Star Wars action figures!

  • It's been amazing, for sure! :-D

    About the sock...

    xD

    Hahahaha!

It's amazing that you mention Star Wars, even if for other reasons... because when I was watching it, don't know why (I'm not a Star Wars fan)... it came to my mind Jar Jar Binks!

    8O

    Aren't they quite similar?!?

    Hahaha! xD

Poor Edmontosaurus! It was there, peacefully eating its waterlilies... look at what kind of references we're able to find out! xD :P

  • :-D

  • nice vid!!!

    I like the plant-eater!

    I like his smile! =)

  • Thank you so much!

Haha, you're right, it has a great smile!

    =D

  • haha yeah youre right!

  • Haha! xD

  • I thought those would be live dinosaurs!

  • Definitely, they were just impressive!

Especially the movements of those three heads made them seem alive!

Oh, how much I love technology! :-D

  • Um. Live dinosaurs haven't existed for over 65 million years.

  • In facts, I used that "made them *seem* alive"! ^_^

On one side I would love to see some of them alive (but from a good distance, btw)... on the other side I guess that to live together with them wouldn't be easy... and that, sadly, with our modern cynism and "who cares" attitude we would be able to make a waste of them... :-\

  • wow! awesome, but a little scaaary!! I wonder if I could fold a dinosaur that big.....hmm......

  • You're right, when I first saw them... so near... so *big*... it's been a bit thrilling for me as well!

But, after all, the secret is to remind to ourselves that they're definitely extinct!

    ;-)

To fold an origami dinosaur... big like that?!?!?

    :O

I guess that you would enter the Primates Guinness World Records! ^_^

Thank you for stopping by! :-D

  • lol. you're right to. We should round up like 5 of the biggest origamists in the world to fold a gigantic dinosaur. haha. That would have been awesome.

    5 stars by the way:):)

  • Yeah... but really... the very *biggest* origamists in the world! xD

    Thank you!!! ^_^

  • LOL!

  • interessante. 5*****

  • Grazie mille!!! :-)

  • Haha! For sure one of them would take care of your garden!

But you are right, Em: to let it sit on your lap could be quite problematic! xD

Thank you very much for stopping by! :-)
