Im a Mercedes owner and fan but its is UGLY it reminds me of the cars i saw in the 1970's as a kid when iwas growing up SQUARE & BOXY! its a great engine and has great off road capabilities but it does not change the fact its is very UGLY It was dsigned originally in 1975 for the Shah of Iran but the 1979 revolution meant they never got delivered & hence the BOXY design or lack of, just because its a MB doesnt mean it beautiful the public will buy anthing with a3 pointed star even if it's UGLY

I've heard many disgruntled Mercedes fans express a distaste for the box style. Perhaps it's because it seems like a feature one would expect to see only on an older car like you say. I suppose that's an easy conclusion to draw. Usually I'd even agree with the opinion that boxy style cars are unattractive and lack a modern appeal, but not in this case. For whatever reason I've always found the G class to be a high class-looking and extremely sophisticated car.

Mercedes G is not a SUV. It's an OFF ROAD. It utilizes three fully locking differentials and it is the main difference between both groups of vehicles.
