  • i would love to get my hands on one of those engines for sure

  • Someone really needs 2 swap a rx8 motor in these.

    turbo 1.3L

    ...

  • Also whats the Maximum RPM on wankel engine??

  • depends on what model and what is done to it. thats like asking, what is the max rpm on a V8. well for a diesel v8 1200-3000 rpm. but for an f1 gas v8, 18-22000 rpm.

  • Is this Wankel engine run quieter than regular engine??

  • Where is the SNOW?

  • does anyone know how much these go for?

  • That would make a cool go cart engine.

  • I have a restored 303, missing the recoil as well....man they are hard to find

  • i just found one at the dump lol it has pretty low compression, but has spark... i want to get it running!

  • did you guys drive it?

  • It goes but the gas tank is rusted out so you have to carry a gas can with a hose in it on your lap while you ride. Not too convenient. Oh yeah and one of the skis is bent.

  • oh that sucks. you could sell it. im sure someone is looking for a sled to restore. or you can use it as a beater. i think thats what my olympique will become a beater :P

  • hope mine runs this good! i have a 71ish panther with the 303 on it. it has been in my grandparents basement on a huge shelf for atleast 20 years since last run. it was put away a runner im told! we got the 440 1973 cheetah out and running a few years back.

  • the engine should be put in something els that will be driven faster like a small car or motocycle will be cool

  • a gokart

  • Holly shit I had one of them once too!Caught fire with a full tank of gas!It was good for 30 ft flames!

  • What do you think is top speed for a Wankel 303? In all my days of sled racing, I'd never seen one go more than 20, but I know they go faster than that.

  • I Think i've been about 30 but thats pushing it pretty hard.

  • Yea, that sounds about right

  • i got a 71 arctic cat cheatah 325 and i push 50 no prob

  • The carb is on upside down. Do you find it runs well like that?

Curious, it seems like its running...

  • By george I think you're right. It actually seems to run quite well with the carb upside down, although I'm not sure why or how.

  • Yeah with the needle being upside down how does it open? Obviously it works though....

  • I bet if my friend put the carb on right side up it would probably run like crap. :)

  • LOL :)

  • thats weird!!! but thats how i bought it seems to work

  • it is infact on upside down. your snowmobile would run 100% better if you turned it rightside up its a diaphram carb that allows it to run upside down or on its side or rightside up without flooding itself but it does infact cause ur engine to bogg out and loose power do what you need to do and get it turned right side up... youll be pleased with what happens

  • Can you not see that it is a diaphram carb?!

it doesnt matter what way its mounted they mounted them onsleds side ways and upside down all the time IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT WAY IT IS MOUNTED

  • @curtludwig uhm genious thats a tillison carb no needle no float its and all position carb that has gaskets to fuel the engine still has a needle but it has a spring on it

  • @gokartmaster123 I guess I am a genius, there sure is a needle in that carb, part #12 on the diagram parts diagram "inlet needle and seat". Newer rebuild kits have a return arm but the older ones don't. I still don't understand what keeps the needle out of the seat when the carb is upside down, gravity wants to pull it into the seat after all...

  • @curtludwig Fuel pressure opens and closes the needle. Usually popoff pressure on the Tillys & Walbros is about 10 psi.

  • @curtludwig its a diaphram carb. no floats or needle valve.

  • @MonkeyWithAWrench Thats not exactly true, theres no floads but there sure is a needle valve. They get stuck all the time, probably the #1 most common reason old snowmobiles don't run.

  • @curtludwig well, every diaphram carb i took apart had no needles. they did have check valves though. i have an old tillitson laying around somewhere... i may just go tear into it and see what i can find

  • two different kinds of carbs those that use bowls and floats and those that use diaphragms.. a diaphragm allows a carburetor to run upside down on its side right side up... it would run much better if the carb was right side up MUCH better

  • @svtirefire I think the engine is getting more gas this way? The float for the fuel won't close upside down so that might be affected, probebly why it runs better.

  • @svtirefire if thats an old tillotson i dont think it matters they just have a built in fuel pump stack on the bottom.

  • @curtludwig Tillotsons can run at almost any angle. I bought a sled and somebody had an HR Tilly mounted upside down

  • @curtludwig a tillitson carb has multiple diaphragm layers and is run off a vaccum pulse from the crankcase, often referred to as a 'pumper' carb. The throttle is a butterfly-type, and thus, no needle/slide and no float to worry about. These can be run either way, and oftentimes in racing go-kart applications running dual tillys, one is right side up, and the other is upside down, and they run just fine.

  • anything is for sale for the right price!

  • kurtcon99 is the owner of the snowmobile

  • what would the right price be?

  • is this for sale ? ifso ill buy it off u
