You should cool it with the throttle. The RPM's were building in the turn, and they shouldn't be. You should try to fly in the at the "golden spot" for throttle. That's where your performance will be best in level and inverted flight. The "golden spot" is a few clicks above the throttle you need to keep the plane flying. You're flying at around 3/4 throttle, which is definately unneccesary. I'd say a Typhoon 2 3D could fly at 1/2 throttle, even with the stock set-up.
we got this plane last week. on the fifth or so flight, my dad was coming in for a low pass and judged the distance wrong. full speed into a tree. we lost a wheel and broke the prop shaft. very durable little plane. i was able to deadstick it in with no wheels or prop out of a tree. everything else still worked!!!
Well, before upgrading my transmitter, I used to think the stock one was OK. When I upgraded, it was a night and day difference between the "precise" control I now had with the plane. The stock one will definitely work, however.
I don't even see why they sell this plane with the transmitter. Its much better to buy your own better one; There is the pnp version but then you have no batteries and charger
The Ty2 has digital metal servos, which I don't think the original has. I don't understand the direct connection question. I think you will be fine with your set up you speak of.
Hi i have some questions, are there any other differences between the original typhoon and the typhoon2 apart from the fins on the wings? And also, is there a direct connection between the plane and lipo batteries because i am buying the PnP version and using the parkzone lipo's straight away.
How crash-resistant is it?? My only experience with 3d foamies (an E-flite Tensor and a Byp Yak) both disintegrated on contact with the ground :( I'll be buying the Typhoon2 if it holds up any better.
Heh thanks for the quick reply... I just got back from the hobby store with a Typhoon2. I'll hopefully see how it flies tomorrow morning if the wind isn't too strong.
on my maiden flight i had the ailerons reversed and ended up flipping it over on it's top, only bent the prop. couple flights later i lost controle and it nosed dived into a corn field, not a scratch on it....so i'd say it is pretty crash resistant.
I crashed mine at full speed into a light pole and only damage was one of the wing servos stopped working 12 dollars later and some clear tape and i was in the air again
do u think this is a good plane for a person that has already flown a 3 channel plane....my plane had throttle elevation and rudder.....do you think i would be able to fly thiss??
My first plane before this one was a Super Cub, much like your plane. Also, I only flew the Super Cub about 6 times before I thought it was too easy and bought this one. However, many of the games I grew up playing and still play are flight simulators, which I credit to be being able to fly like I do in the above video for my second flight with a 3D plane.
Yah, I'm 12 and have one of these. I learned on a hobbyzon sky fly (3ch). THis plane is very durable. I've nosed it in, i've cartwheeled it, you name it. Mine still flies!

will this fly well at slower speeds?? because this will b my first aileron plane.

Yes, this plane does fly well at slower speeds (at least I think it does.)

best electric plane ever!! So manuverable

I've yet to really crash it and break it, but from what I read, it is very easy to glue the foam back together once it breaks on impact.

This is a SICK plane I will have new vids soon

the sfg's don't really do much and the typhoon 2 has metal gears in the servos. typhoon 1's plastic gears would always break on the rudder for me.

i flew the same thing and when i got this, it took a couple rough flights to get the hang of it, i just had to keep it on low setting.

I have the Typhoon 1 with a Lipo battery, and it seems to be no different then this is. Is the stock Lipo and the sgf the only difference?
robscorobson86 4 years ago
The Ty2 comes with digital servos, unlike the TY1. The transmitter is also a bit different, I believe.
MattUNI2001 4 years ago
yah the transmitter has better joysticks and its black instead of green

why dont you try the sgf

I eventually will, once I get a bit better at flying the plane.

good job on the focus, much better, funny landing, no damage is good
