  • so before i fight somebody on the street i have to tell myself what to and spend a minuite fixing my legs at a perfect 45 degree angle? haa:D

  • @dcelis96

i hope you're being sarcastic, but in case you're not: it's called muscle memory. when you train enough in a certain way, you're body will fall into the required position naturally, without thinking. hope this helps.

  • @defiantwon33 dont worry,i am,i was just being an ass.forgive me..and thanks for the info

  • that's not that bad of a stance but he shuld have his arms tighter together

  • 70 people are world of warcraft nerds

  • this is kinda gay

  • its MT then is it...

  • how did i get to watching this?

  • @MrTomdabomb1313 , i know right?

  • you have your guard really low...

  • 3 Words - Rex Kwon Do

  • I prefer the one finger death strike... Courtesy of Kimber and John Moses Browning.

  • wheres fuckin sword? it isnt warrior training?

  • Lol you dont want to nessesary have your fists tight. you want them lose as you are punching and as soon as your about to make contact you tense your body its faster and more effective.

  • @Panther704 MY name is jason warren. Anytime u wish to try to attack my lead leg let me know. i live in the bronx ny. how about it tough guy, anytime. talk is cheap....we can arrange to meet just me and u, no cameras, no drama. mano y mano ps opinions are like a__ holes, everyone has one :>)

  • no stance in the world is good enough to beat a gun. just got robbed few days back :(

  • I'm guessing this guy never saw Anderson Silva or Rashad Evans Fight.

  • @PrisonCipher MMA isn't street fighting... biased fanboy

  • @baron not really my point there moonfag. My point was there is no "default" stance as anything goes in a street fight. I brought MMA fighters into the mix because if anything a "proper" stance would come from people who actually get taken down or put in a clinch. But please do show me a vid where a proper stance is portrayed.

Its funny though, being called a fanboy by someone with "hardcore" in their name. Yes you failed. Nice try though.

  • @PrisonCipher Moonfag... alright... little bit of aspergers coming out there? My point was that surely a street fight is such an aqueous concept that an MMA stance would be unsuitable for many occurences... perhaps stop relying on Western hype more and use your head. And you can't self-proclaim your victory. I'm still stuck as to why you said 'moonfag', it makes no sense and I've never heard it before, sounds like something out of wow

  • @baron Aspergers no...Misanthropy? yes. My original point was that a stance means nothing when coming from a fighter with skill, hence the Anderson Silva and Rashad reference, two fighters with very unorthodox fighting style/stances. I would've said Roy Jones Jr or Prince Naseem, but seeing as MMA is a tad more famous these days, it was first that came to mind when it came to stances.

You call me a fanboy because I name two people in MMA...overgeneralize much?

  • F5 to skip ads.

  • there s ........a video...for...that??????

  • boa, trust me one kick in the face from tht guy and you DEAD

    Look at his curves D:

  • err man i hate them muay thai pants there comfortable but weird lookin

  • it seems like all commenters here in youtube are expert in martial arts... wahahaha its not what martial art you do its how you do the martial arts... and boxing is not martial arts...

  • @cutejapogi it can be thought , just not as a sport

  • Tight fists? You've clearly never punched someone in the head. Your fists should be lose. This video was a waste of my life.

  • @LordNapalm idiot, where can you find loose fists when punching? if you loosen your fist, that's a backhand bitch slap.

  • @guerillaphantom lol. Your not to bright.

  • In my system they call that leader stance but that is usually called front stance

  • the best stand is to stand with a gun . lol just kidding.

  • Tight fists will slow down the traveling speed of your punch as it flexes the tendons of the lower arms which causing resistance when you attemtp to throw a punch. Clenching the fists also stops one from being able to use the hands for trapping and slapping and using ridge hand moves not to mention grasping/clawing throwing/locking an opponent if need be. The hands should be held relaxed and if one wishes to connect with a punch, the fist should be clenched AS it travels toward the target point.

  • @m1artz There is a down Part to that, you don't want your fingers to be broken

  • @ryourhm ...your fingers won't be broken iff you have conditioned hands and hit correctly and as I stated..if you clench the fist AS YOUR FIST APPROACHES THE TARGET....so that it is clenched when it hits the target. No reason that you would break your fingers by doing as I had said.

  • @m1artz The Downside is not when you hit, It's how the person would knock it out of Range. It's pretty much Like Punching steel with an open Hand

  • @ryourhm...That's a very silly statement.....So in your view then, no one in any martial art ever created should throw a finger jab(bil sao) a slap to the ear or side of the head or face,a finger flick to the eyes,a ridge hand strike,a heel palm. etc..etc. Because ALL of those aforementioned strikes could be deflected by the opponent and none of them have fingers clenched/protected as when a TIGHT fist is thrown. So, you'd tell Bruce Lee not to throw his finger jab I guess. Your ridiculous.

  • @m1artz I think so too, but my personal experience is that when i was fighting with a friend, he tried to headkick me but hit my hand instead which was relaxed as you wrote...he hit my finger and I couldnt fight for 2 weeks.

  • Shouldn't you lower your chin?

  • you shouldn't step backwards into your stance, you should step forwards

  • This was a lession how to get your ass kicked if you ask me.

  • whoa....that was not worth the 1min of time out of my life

  • this is a basic stand that exist in most styles....

although, everyone has their own stance

  • lol warrior

  • i think his unpreferred stance will still knock you haters out ...lol

  • different Position for different Martial Arts. they all work. different Position for different ppl. it depend on who you are and what you prefer

  • how the hell are you gonna use your back leg, if its pointing wrong directione. and what happens with the footwork?

  • Why are you hatin? Are you an expert? FOOL!

  • this is shit, ur back foot is two far back and ur not square enough, n i dont make a fist and have palms facing outwards to parry punches, alot of thai boxers do it this way, and ur weight is 50 50 even all the time

  • what you're describing is for boxing but for most other martial arts the feet are placed like in the vid

  • no its not ive done boxing but mainly muay thai.

and do dweeb below the stance should change depending on wat ur doing, a boxing, muay thai, mma stance are all different

  • lol fuck dat his body should be much more protected shoulders up,chin down towards the chest and hands higher to protect the head and dont forget elbows for the ribs.

  • It's not a mobile stance, it's not perfect for some situations. If most of the tards had bothered to listen, the guy says, a stance to start from. As a starter stance it has some good potential for teaching ranges and angles of attack/counter. Does what it says on the tin i suppose... and lol at karatekid who has never lost a weight class fight. Be sure to tell the 5 thugs beating on you that they're too heavy kid.

  • Apparently this guy is extremley tough. Retardly even. He takes people down in one or two hits no problem. He could walk through an army of people and say, "well that was boring, next!" I consider myself decently tough but this guy would waste me in two hits.

  • u watch too much dragonball

  • I'm sorry I fail to see the relevance of your lame ass comment. I haven't watched that stuff since I was fourteen. I watch too much dragonball? What did my comment even have to do with that? Think before you say things geez.

  • part 2 mobility:

A parallel thought think about playing defense in football or basketball. You would never use such a stance precisely b/c the lack of ability to move. NO one would use such a stance in these sports. Think about sprinters. Their feet point forward not turned out. Where your toes point so goes your power. Think about this. it is natural.

If you think mobility is important in football or basketball, and it is of course, it is imperative in fighting.

  • Muai Thai fighter moves quite well side way. If u ever watched all those MT clips u can see that they don't stay in one place. Of course, it is a slower stance but it is good at blocking or redirect the blows. BTW, the fighter lift their front leg if the kick is coming at it.

  • Two big problems with this kind of long stance... lack of mobility and vulnerability of the front leg.

He is correct to keep the front leg bent b/c it is going to get viciously kicked b/c the stance is too long. No way this stance works unless you want to have your front leg pounded to pieces with kicks to the front leg.

  • no difference

  • That's it?

Nothing about low stance or why a low center of gravity is important? No theory on stability? No geometrcial instructions to show the body's natural proper position?

God, I can't wait to get a camera and start my own series...

  • If you ever fought/trained Jason Warren you would shut your mouth swiftly. He's just giving the basics.

  • That would determine who has more skill in brutality; not teaching.

  • daaaaaaaaaang, booti shorts!!!

  • residueisevil is fuckin gay fuck them and their advertisements are fuckin gay too

  • you swore

  • fuck open hands full of shit iv been doing mui thi for years and open fist means ur dead especially if ur drunk, keep ur hands closed fuck these dumb ass who tell u to keep ur hands open, most fights happen when out drunk partying,do not open fist, fuck these loosers

  • Amazing that you've been learning an art for years, but can't spell it's name.

  • too bad for you, I'm sure that even being drunk and you being sober, this guy owns you badly ...

  • you swore

  • Comment removed

  • mui thi lol...

  • Samuel L Jackson?

  • Remember to close ur hands when u hit, heh.

  • dont ball ya hand up u would keep it open and when inches of the apponent then bold ya hand and strike .why i say that ur hand will move faster then if it was balled up.i got that from bruce lee lol but that do make since.a man with power can break ur face with a 5 to 10 inch blow from the face the monks is good at that technique.

  • wtf, you NEVER keep your hands open dude. always keep them clenched. i get why your saying you should keep them open, it seems easier to block and grab, but you can break your hand or fingers easily like that. plus if you do want to grab them.... its as easy as just unclenching your fist :D

  • well you dont break ur fingers when you have trained at it like i have :) tho dont you think its kinda slower when u open your hands to block or grabb, i dont keep my hands shut cause thats whatt boxers do but they have big gloves so it doesnt matter

  • i understand what you meant but it always depends on diferent situations doesnt it :D in a streetfight i would keep my hands half open tho and be prepared for both

  • different ppl got different ways he was showin a good but extreamly basic stance that would be modified at every different gym or dojo however most agree that u should keep the hands open and train the fingers and forarms allowing u to cause short range damae additionaly with punches also keeping hands open transitions to the grappling an clinch ranges quicker

  • Actually you do keep ur hands open...for a very simple reason...if you have done any serious sparring and kept ur fists clenched you will know...its almost impossible to open them when you need to because ur muscles tighten up under severe level of stress...but in Martial arts and boxing you are taught to keep ur fist relaxed, from a relaxed clench to an almost open hand....ur hands..or any part of ur body should never be clenched tight for any length of time...it uses a lot of energy to do so.

  • dude you increase your punch and block speed emencely by keeping your hands open. you'll only break fingers if you cant fight.

  • you only break your fingers if you're an idiot and cant fight worth shit

  • its quicker to clench than unclench plus clenching strains all the muscles in the arm meaning that if you do block and its a hard hit you can end up lossing your balance because your rigid its better to be loose

  • bad stance, with the back legs heel off the ground then he would fall over if the front leg was sweeped

  • lol

his whole entire chest is basically open to the world. if i were fighting him i bet i could get a punch in there and out before he could react.

  • he gave a baswic easily modifiable stance he likley wont be so open in a fight especialy if he used footwork and movement skills

  • i would kill you your a fag

  • thats some nice shorts

  • that position would open you up to sharp jabs depending on how fast you opponent is

  • I'd would have liked to see him show a different variety of stances, not just his. Also, standing up straight is a horrible thing, you wanted your body aligned, but you want your cover up more of your body. Just my humble opinion.

  • Your centerline is wide open, just saying :)

  • i agree with 72e17 =]

  • It would be nice if swearing and comments such as that were not allowed-this is supossed to be a place to learn-not post comments that have no place in the martial art community

  • true

  • wo!!! look at his leg muscles

dont try to mess with this guy.....

  • Very well done. You point out very important things many today seem to forget.

We hope you will take a peak at our first video as well.

  • good movie good stance. BUT it isn't true that in every martial arts they got stance there are some (more) martial arts where they say no stance becouse of the stance you can guess what typ if fighter he/she is and how he/she would attack! allsow its depent on whaty the attack does/is how you gonna stand.

but for the rest very good example.

  • Do you have proof? I have little experience in real combat but I think about them everyday.

From what I see, you will probably fall when you punch if you don't have a fighting position. If you happen to still be standing when you punch, looks like you just entered a stance.

Even a street fighter would tell you that stances are all over the places. If you talk to a REAL street fighter that is; and not just some fake who go around punching people and thinking he is the real deal.

  • What BudoRuben means is that some martial arts do not neccessarily use a fighting position to start with. Obviously they will still use proper footwork and body movement once an attack has started. Also, some martial arts, such as capoeira have a dynamic fighting postion, which is a way to have a good position and still be unpredictable.

  • Capoeira is a dance.

  • Capoeira isn't a dance, it's a fighting style which looks like you're dancing to confuse your opponent.

  • thanks

  • it is originally a dance @ game.

  • My fighting position is standing on my opponent's broken face.

  • right after you sucked him off?

  • you look stupid commenting on that. get cultured dickface. i suggest wiki pedia "muay thai equipment" ..starter reference for ya.

  • Schmokes1, diuryl is obviously smarter and more knowledgeable than you. So shut up and let the smarter folks tell you what you can never understand.

  • i was also repyling to another guy you fuckwit. so get off his dick and read the series again. i actually mainly agreed with dyl.

  • quit yapping your mouth. You keep trying to shit your way out of this. Soo...go fuck yourself. Yeah!

  • gangster. shush.

  • would you learn to be the first one to shush? Gawd. I can definitely explain to you that I previously tried to tell you to shut up.

  • dude, you forgot to shrug your shoulders and lower your jaw, you dont want your head and jaw way out in the open, if your stance is like that its only going to take one precision hit to knock you on your ass

  • but isn't this a fighting stance for muay thai? because it's different in each m.a.

  • general rule: dont stand square: be on your toes defensively: plant your feet when you strike to transfer energy: keep your mother fuckin chin tucked in. muay thai is the most effective foundation for any fight: ask anyone thats fought a muay thai boxer who knows what they're doing.

  • SCHMOKES1

    * i know for some reason people think muay thai is the best striking ma there is, and i'll admit, it's pretty good. but to say it's the best is simply getting ahead of ourselves. it has it's advantages and disadvantges.

    * every ma brings something to the table, that can be used in a fight. to just accept one over another is kinda being closed minded.

    * don't get me wrong, muay thai is good. very good. but not the best.

  • I didn't say it was the best. i said it was the most effective foundation to expand from. fighting doesn't have a style. andy ou're right, every martial art does bring sommet to the table. but trained correctly, muay thai.. pretty solid fighting foundation.

  • just read that again. 'for some reason' 'getting ahead of ourselves' 'closed minded' who are you? a patronizing prodigy of Lao Tzu?first thing Id say straight up.. think about it. muay thai fighters use their head and kick with shins. 'other' ma use all the nice little fragile bones in their feet. Tae Kwon Do for example. Now why would you teach that someone thats never fought before. to star in a jackie chan movie? big guy who wants ur wallet... fancy roundhouse. naa.....vicious elbow anyone?

  • SCHMOKES1

    * i'm not trying to attack you.

    * also i see you have a very different view on TAE KWON DO.

    * people always think it's just fancy kicks , and flashy arial techniques, well actually, real, combat TKD is not about that. you're thinking about the TKD they use in sparing, or at the olympics, that's a different TKD, that's sport TKD. the one you can use on the street is alot more effective, not to mention you can use elbows and fists too.

  • SCHMOKES1.

    * have you seen some proper self defense TKD one steps or techniques? there are very few, to no airial kicks, and there are some punches included aswell.

    * i understand you think the TKD used in the olympics, is all TKD has, this is a common misconception. i used to think that too. have you seen the s.korean soldiers use TKD in their military? it's alot different from the sparring.

    * also the best part about TKD are the kicks you don't expect. especially the side kick or....

  • SCHMOKES1.

    * ..the cut kick. in sparring they're not allowed to kick the feet or legs, but on the street there are no rules.

    * people tend to choose muay thai over ma's like TKD because TKD has alot less damaging attacks. unless their placed on the right spot. in muay thai there's alot more emphasis on power, not that much on accuracy to hit a specific target.

    * TKD focuses more on accuracy, and speed. the power from TKD comes from the velocity of the kicks not on strength of the legs.

  • sorry for talking so much, i just felt i needed to get that cleared up. LOL!!

  • Comment removed

  • This is the muay thai default position, its proven effective thousands of times a DAY in all the countries around the world, including the big thai boxing stadiums in thailand where people brutally throw ellbows, knees and killer leg kicks.

i suppose all you fucktards who never took a real punch/kick stfu and keep watching magic fake kung fu jet li movies, and shut up about *protecting the center*

  • I hear you on the kung fu bashing... :)

However, the muay thai stance is a bit different from this. Weight distribution is 70/30 (80/20) instead of 50/50 and you never ever lean on your front leg, except of course when kicing with you back leg. In MMA though, you have to lean more forward since you've got people trying to take you down to the ground.

  • @nekftw

You do know that there are some martial arts and martial artist that also use this stance or something similar, right? Whether you do know it or not, I myself think that you giving the credit /ownership/etc of the effectiveness of this stance to muay thai is unfair. What do you think?

  • That just one of the basic Muay Thai Stances... and for all of you who didnt know about the shorts... those are basic Muay Thai Shorts that are worn in all MT kickboxing matches and most UFC/mixed martial arts and stuff like that...

  • ANY GUYS UP?

    great vid RM

  • someone should teach this guy about protecting your center

  • i dont think hes a real fighter, he has to know more, and dats not the greatest protecting pose

  • your age is stupid...what 15?

  • ty for sharing that correct definition of John mccain.

  • nice. this will work

  • very good, nice information! but i might considered to switch shorts ? :-)

  • lofl

  • it's funny how much people whine and cry about other peoples comments

  • kinda like you ay?

  • thats a muay thai stance they should have just said muay thai training

  • what stance is that? battle, berserker, defensive?

  • thats how i stand in the line at the D.M.V

  • ha ha....

  • this is stance not fighting position.

fighting position means, you are positioned to make a roundhouse, back heel, straight jab or any movements.

  • You are right and the instructor, even though he has superior experience and knowledge, is wrong. Good to know there are internet heroes still around.

  • shoulders up and chin down might be good advice too, but then again warriors can take all kinds of hits to the jaw.

  • erm not fighting position. its called stance lol

  • that was freaky

  • This guy is jacked. I wonder how many people he has kicked through.

  • sexi shorts mmmmmmm

  • samuel jackson knows martial arts?

  • lol ture!

  • Hey carcajouxx you wanna run that by my again?

  • Comment removed

  • lol :16 instant fail

  • Why would you post a comment like that. Oh, I know; you're a coward.

The internet gives you the opportunity to be brave because the people you've abused aren't in front of you.

    Grow some balls.

  • thank God "niggers and chimps" died with your white brothers to give that freedom of speech you got there. and that's how you use it...pathetic man. You don't deserve the red white and blue.

  • whos the president elect right now in the US?I'm not going to answer that with racism. You seem to know how to fight. I think you found yourself a worthy challenger. This ur gym rite?

"Philadelphia 4415 Chestnut Street. The number is 215-386-3333. You can find me there everyday after 12:00p. If you, your friend, or anyone else would like to experience why they call me The Decapitator I would love to help you out. C'mon man, do me a favor. Don't be a pussy and try to show up." -pussycapitator

  • Yes this is all correct. Would you or anyone you know like to schedule a meeting?

  • I would need to train in order to fight you to be honest. I might be on the internet but I try not to talk shit. As for someone else I know no idea.

  • You didn't waste any time abusing your right to freedom of speech, but I guess you deserve some credit since you can spell, and that's awfully impressive for a toothless, inbred, internet redneck.

  • What the fuck are you talking about? I think you might confused as to who said what.

  • RTARD

  • AHAHA SEAL IN MARTIAL ARTS :) AHA

  • Nice pants, dude. =)

  • yeah i know lol

  • Nice

  • hahahahaha!!! what a DUMBASS

  • I didn't know Seal was in Martial Arts

  • I'd say Samuel Jackson

  • i wanna fly like an eagle!

  • we also do this stance in jujitsu it called (zenkutsu-dachi) front forward stance i dont know what your talking about its a good stance "if you have time to get into it" :)

  • zenkutsu-dachi means Forward Leaning Stance. That stance is a mix of a Forward Leaning and Fighting stance.

  • i can whoop up his ass in 5 seconds..
