how do u set notes/chords etc on this thing? it doesn't have keys like a keyboard... cuz I'm debating between a relatively cheaper setup (this thing or the Roland MC-808) or a slightly more expensive setup with a keyboard with synth etc... suggestions/ideas? thanks!

Electribe MX can do everything with expert hands

easiest way to import is buy a es-1 and burn wave samples on to your smartcard via a usb burning device (reader writer) like for cameras. any wav files labeled 00-99 will be imported into the sampler as new voices. cheers =)

Midi is there for what you need...

I use external hardware sequencers to make songs on the road... and then plug in to my tribes and other modules :D

Making the pattern of the song is half the work. Using someone elses premade pattern is certainly doing only 50% of the song yourself, and taking 100% of the credit. I have a MIDI kit for trance music that I could use to make awesome songs, but if I did, I would not take full credit for the song. If you have the pattern made for you already, then all you are doing is chosing the intrument that will be played on that pattern. Doesn't sound like music making to me.
