  • OK guys please start eating more of these.

  • They go to the club, they have built in lights, they are FIERCE! **SNAP**SNAP**

  • Im just a squid kid

  • RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!

  • this researcher is an idiot! animals are more intelligent than he gives them credit for. and from the looks of it, it looks like the only thing HE thinks about is eating.

  • damn i luv kalamari bring it on eat u suckas by the pound.

  • "The fierce Humboldt Squid", "A fish with tentacles", "Large brains but I don't think they philosophise too much"... "There's squid all over, there's ink all over", "You don't have an opportunity like this anywhere else (slauthering sea animals)" I'm not a squid expert, but I'm amazed with the ignorance and raw crudeness of the people who did and participated in this documentary. Even the comentator is rigged, trying to convince you in the end that all that you saw is a good thing.

  • @IDremOI

  • I WANNA GO SQUID FISHING!!!!!

  • is it odd to be getting hungry watching this?

  • If Giant Squid are anything like Humboldt Squid, then were all doomed!

  • Hmmm Perhaps the Sperm Whale population is decreasing? ... Since they like to eat these squids ..... maybe they have something to do with the population swell....? .... I wonder

  • 1:58

That radar must have some big balls to go down there!

    AWWWWWWWWW YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

  • most dangerous predator...humans

  • No aliens have ever been on earth!

  • That's one thing more than I usually think about. :I

  • what is a squid? it doesnt have a translation in my language apparently:|

  • @andreeatz the squid used to be called the Kraken

  • So interesting

  • those squids are awesome

  • don't be hatin' on the squid! :(

    a'holes!

  • That is epic.

  • I hate the narrators voice =_= MAKE HER BRITISH!!!!

  • @MelancholyAndroid That's cliche and boring

  • @Trebgah Well if you think that, then fine. I personally think British narrators sound more elegant and intelligent. This women narrating sounds corny. She has this "news host" tone to her voice which annoys me. Or maybe its just that for a women her voice doesn't sound sexy, then again these are merely my weird personal opinions. I get annoyed very easily, I'm not a perfect human being after all. These are just my flaws.

    Good day, and good bye.

  • 1:22 Squid aren't fish. Fail.

  • sarah palin narrator?

  • Holy crap, imagine going for a swim and seeing a hundred of those things coming at you.

  • First this... and when I saw on TV that jellyfish is taking over DX .... Plus those mini box jellyfish that has eyes and can learn obstacle courses....... I hate aliens of the ocean DX

  • Squids are so awesome!

  • Ugh 01:40... Man first that's just scary - second, hats off to the "Squid wrangler" (I should TM that lol) imagine the damage that could do?! I wonder how much bite pressure is behind those thingzs... *Shudder*

  • squid :3

  • Its like that movie Aliens. And the colossal squid is d queen.

  • "a fish thats mean, a fish thats strong..."

    Dude... its NOT A FISH...

  • Comment removed

  • @lillybird444 LOL i almost didnt believe someone said that on this video and then i watched it and i was like wtf is wrong with people like that lol

  • @Pheonix7king huh?

  • @lillybird444 Especially "a fish that can wrap tentacles around you." You'd think he'd start stuttering at that point. It's a squid, not Dagon.

  • Squid heaven dude!

  • its like a fucking alien lurking in the depths of the sea :(

  • squids don't spend a lot of time philosophising......no they swim around the ocean endlessly amused at how bad ass they are

  • @kwen092185 BEST.COMMENT.EVER.

  • now all i want, is some mother, fucking, squid -.-

  • cool squid

  • 2.28 it shit out a live fish. truely amazing creatures!

  • @DefilerhXc lol

  • How do squid put on a light show man wow ... incredable animal..

In a resturant we call them cuttle fish..lol

    Or calimarai BBQ lol

  • Comment removed

  • @Dorisequador Actually, the Cuttlefishes are a different order than the Squid. They are closely related to each other as well as to the Octopuses and the Nautiluses and can (with the exception of the Nautiluses) all change color.

  • @davidjbeals Still and incredable animal so cute yet so visious ..I love the fact it doesn't attack divers and put on a show for them of colors and such a cute face.

    I heard they taste amazing.

  • @Dorisequador "dont attack divers"? whered you hear that bit on bull? they are actually pretty vicious, but they DO attack divers, not 100% of the time mind you, see if you can find the vids here of the Giant Squid Monsterquest episode, youll hear one proffessional divers account of being attacked by Humboldts, their not cute at all, their intelligent and very dangerous to unarmored divers, not something you wanna play with, when swimming with em you never know when or if theyll attack or not

  • squids have vary small brains its cool but weird

  • @waaaaaaaaaa7

Cephalopods (squids, octopuses and cuttlefishes) have a totally different type of nervous system, they do not have a backbone (invertebrate) and therefore do not have a central nervous system aka brain!

As far as I know, their nervous system looks like a grid instead of a brain with a backbone.

  • @micahgee Not to sound like a dick again ( I really am not trying to be), but they do have brains, albeit much different than our own. And you're right, they do have a grid patterned nervous system far unlike ours. In fact, most (two thirds) of their neurons are in their peripheral nervous system. They're nerves are freaking huge! It's actually quite amazing.

  • @davidjbeals

Yea squid neurology is bizarre because they don't have the massive CNS like vertabrates and you cant really point to the "brain" because all the neurons are spread out in a grid instead of bundled up. My point is exactly yours, they don't have what we would recognize as a "brain" but rather a fascinating and complex grid of neurons.

  • @micahgee well i have dissected a humboldt squid and the squids brain said otherwise and they still have vary small brains but i think that there brains work like a grid!

  • We need to eat them now yuppy! Calimaray delisiuos when fried like chips.

  • Comment removed

  • DO YOU EAT SQUID?

  • poor squiddies

  • SQUID AREN'T FISH!

  • hey....stop catching fish or squid and any creatures cos that is the beauty of the sea

  • mmmm i would love to catch one of these, then marinade it in garlic, chilli, olive oil, some salt and pepper, then throw it on the barbie

  • Squid are tasty.

  • leave the oceans alone.

  • @tonyjohnbradley Shoo, hippie.

  • @tonyjohnbradley ya she/he is right leave the oceans alone!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @tribzz09

You can live on land, not eat seafood and still harm the ocean...

    Look up the term Eutrophication

  • you can get more dive stories on the myscubastory site. Type myscubastory into google and its the first one i think

  • dumb bitch... squid aren't alien creatures

  • @SpectralSpon squids please give us Elvis back xD

  • now thasts just fuckin mean

  • Squid are not fish...

  • Is that Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) narrating this?

  • Sorry it was imissyouella

  • @imissyou did u talk to squid to find out there miss understood... Do u have tea tine with them and ask about there day and stuff

  • @bmx360kid no, but they are. scientists have proven it!

  • they are misunderstood. they are only protecting themselves from extincion!! you should know that thousands of them are pulled out of the water and killed everyday. if you are away from fishing boats they do not flash colors. they seem to be all up tight when around fishing boats. away from the boats... they dont attack. im just saying they are misunderstood. they did nothing wrong. it is humanity's fault they got this way. they are becoming endangered... find another type of squid to eat. save.

  • @imissyouella ....... I dare you to swim with them... They are quite aggressive & will quickly take a chunk out of a human if given the briefest chance...

  • "...thinks about two things. One is eating and one is reproducing. Even though they have big brains I don't think they spend a lot of time philosophizing."

Whoa, for a second there I thought he was talking about humans...

  • DO YOU EAT SQUID??

  • DAMN NATURE YOU SCARY!

  • well i have have been fishing off the west coast from northern California all the way up to The Queen Charlotte Islands in Canada B.C for the last 10 years mostly 50 to 150 miles off shore and we see them swimming around the boat at night often i even jigged i few up from time to time even in The Queen Charlotte Islands

But I have heard storys of fisherman getting them up there in The Queen Charlotte Islands even before i started going out on boats 22 years ago

  • Another possible systemic resultant of ocean acidification. Abundant plankton death descending into the low oxygen mid-water zone fueling a squid population expansion. Sort of like how crows become environmentally dominant from road kill.

    What an excellent study!

  • @helstontvx, it's called jigging, which also has an excellent ring to it.

  • Comment removed

  • @dlevin420 Lets clump you in the class of CUNT

  • @helstontvx

    :,( boohoo

  • HOLY SHIT

  • @dlevin420 lol. I know. We should call butterflies birds too. They have wings, they fly. That's what a bird is right?

  • DO YOU EAT SQUID???

  • These Squid Are From Mexico... Sharks Eat Them, But As There Are Fewer & Fewer Sharks In The World, They Have Become Overpopulated & Are Growing To Abnormally Large Size... They Attack Everything, Including Humans... They Hunt In Enormous Packs & Take Chunks Out Of You, Till You Either Get Out Of The Water Or Are No More!

  • that seemed usually cruel

  • I'm a vegetarian, but hell I say fry em up. They're like the potato of the seas. Not much to look at, but could be filling.

  • whats the different between a squid and a fish.... fish with tentacles?//

  • @12ock

Little FYI: Squid aren't fish, they're molluscs - related to snails and slugs in fact. They are dozens of differences.

  • @12ock No. What you said would be like saying a human is just an insect with 4 appendages instead of 6 (since we both live on land and breathe air). One major difference between squid and fish (and also between insects and humans) is that the first is invertebrate and the second is vertebrate. Fish are more related to us than to squid; us being vertebrates like fish.

  • I only have one question: Do they taste good??

  • @blularkspur Oh thats answered at the end. haha.

  • @blularkspur no.

  • @blularkspur

    Ask the japanese.

  • Sperm whales feed on these. If they become extinct what has happened to deers, the same will happen with these squids.

  • It's hilarious to hear them introduce a scientist working for 24 years on this squid who says nothing factually. He surmises! The fisher interviewed doesn't know squat either! Nobody knows anything on this film except God who made them by the millions! ha!

Google activated magazine to seek solutions to man's stupidity!

  • Comment removed

  • @arch37 thats a hell of an assertion for someone attacking other peoples ignorance!

  • @pulonium210 >>>>>My father was an ignorant scientist even though I love him there's an element of him being lost in a world I have found out about but not of myself! There were forces at work in my early life that if I made the right chaises would lead out of the maze of life's ignorance into a full understanding of what the devil's plan is now running this planet and God's plan for those who were crazy enough to drop out, & make a U turn even though dangerous to find the whole truth in Jesus!

  • @arch37 I'm sure your father would just smile and pat you on the head. In fact, that's what I'm doing right now... via the internet.

The difference between a scientist and a Christian is that many scientists will admit their ignorance. That's why they are scientists. Many Christians assume they know the answers, because who wants to actually think?! Crazy people, that's who.

  • @0zwy those squid will kick your unbelieveing ass

  • @arch37 check what ozwy says, he knows the score... im not sure your spiel relates to my comment, which is about this worrying blind conviction without proof.

just keep reading loads of different books or something.

  • it is best to kill them all or eat them intil they eat all the fish

  • Meet our new rival. Humboldts will evolve into something nasty....mark my words

  • @TheGreaterGood80 Marked!!! They're already nasty no?

  • omg this is making me so hungry...

  • I think I saw a documentary where it was stated that they were only that aggressive & dangerous under heavily baited conditions used to attract them. They were a lot more docile under more natural conditions

  • I wouldn't mind tasting one!

  • "It's a TRAP!!!!"

  • @PapaLoveDoug Ah!, Admiral Ackbar, ... I've been expecting you ....

  • when you fish them they turn into a frenzy, divers have swam with them in harmny when they were far away from fishing boats

  • @lilmanual have you tried swimming with the squids?

  • @jerzty yes why?

  • I don't like eating squid...

  • Clearly a photoshop. I've seen quite a few photoshops in my day and I can tell by the pixels.

  • I'll get my fork

  • There's always a bigger fish

  • Spem Whales, & Sea Turtles have been hunted for so long that there's no longer enough of them to make a dent in the Squid population!

  • i think the sperms whales #1 predator of this giant squid will make home parties now

  • wrong descriptions, 2 of them are not arms ;)

  • fake.

  • @sondre2409 you fucking Idiot! how the fuck is it 'fake' you prick!!

  • @sondre2409 haha them teenagers with them fancy dancy video camera machines can sure do alot these days XD

and to think i was almost convinced it was real!

thank you for liberating my mind... you fucking dumbass lmfao

  • omg turn on the automatic captions! "seven haiti can ballistic creditors only from another world"

  • i love squids there so cute

  • Wait a minute ... The squids are moving north? ... GLOBAL WARMING IS REAL!!! GLOBAL WARMING IS REAL!!! GLOBAL WARMING IS REAL!!!!!

  • Why would anyone honestly describe a humbolt squid as an alien? Doesn't anyone know a squid when they see one?

  • i wonder if the squid blazes, it is called a HUMBOLDT squid lol

  • Damn, so Squids are more Dangerous than Octupus? :O

  • that's a lot of calamares!!! yum yum!! hehehe

  • i wish i could be a nerd with purpose in life

  • No dude the recipe for Humboldt squid has garlic and soy sauce.

But the squid themselves just eat us raw.

  • i thought i was gona watch a vid just to c a big squid... i think i just learned by accident.. O.O'

  • i fckin LOVE fried squid

  • The visuals of the squid below water are great. I wonder if the narration and some of the scientists are oversimplifying the H.S. natural history in order to justify killing them. How many of the H.S. are in these waters? If we don't know we shouldn't be killing them. If we do know, what is that number and are their any regs on how many can be killed without impacting the overall population.

  • i thought squids had big noses, wore brown polos and played the clarinet! D:

  • @TH3xM3DIC squidword :]

  • Squid are marine cephalopods of the order Teuthida. NOT FISH

  • look at the fuckin mouth!!!

  • Squid = Epic

  • That beak seems pretty frightning to me :/

  • hmmm so all they do is eat and have sex...sounds like the life :D

  • Mmm calamari P:

  • feed the hungry people squid

  • the tag will record what a squid does if caught and tagged and give data on where the squid goes trying to get rid of the tag.... =Þ

  • Those squid are pretty boss :D

  • I suppose it's not too late to acquire a taste for calamari.

  • MBARI likes to torture these critters

  • "If you don't eat them now, they may be the only coastal fishery left" What a stupid statement.

  • PINCH MAH SQUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIID

  • at least stop breeding fucking gypsies and rednecks and stupid people.. they should put a law that says you only have to have 1 offspring in a lifetime.cunts

  • @donniedarko88888 I agree, eugenics is a totally rad idea, as is selective breeding! Hitler had it right on that one.

PS you are a tragically stupid person and I hope for your sake that you have a properly trained and qualified caregiver.

  • @KrahulikIsGod Eugenics got a bad rep from being used by the nazis but with the proper applications and restriction it could be used for the greater good.

  • @ManicTheManic totally agree! if you think about it, mankind has to be at the end of evolution. why? because there's no natural selection (at least here in US). everyone is able to survive. even worse, the moronic and impoverished produce more babies than the more capable people do.

  • Feed them hippies

  • these squids HATE you

  • this narrator has THE most annoying voice .... -.-
