@Dorisequador Actually, the Cuttlefishes are a different order than the Squid. They are closely related to each other as well as to the Octopuses and the Nautiluses and can (with the exception of the Nautiluses) all change color.

Cephalopods (squids, octopuses and cuttlefishes) have a totally different type of nervous system, they do not have a backbone (invertebrate) and therefore do not have a central nervous system aka brain!

As far as I know, their nervous system looks like a grid instead of a brain with a backbone.

Yea squid neurology is bizarre because they don't have the massive CNS like vertabrates and you cant really point to the "brain" because all the neurons are spread out in a grid instead of bundled up. well i have have been fishing off the west coast from northern California all the way up to The Queen Charlotte Islands in Canada B.C for the last 10 years mostly 50 to 150 miles off shore and we see them swimming around the boat at night often i even jigged i few up from time to time even in The Queen Charlotte Islands

But I have heard storys of fisherman getting them up there in The Queen Charlotte Islands even before i started going out on boats 22 years ago
