Who knew at that time in 1982 those 6 chics with Toni Basil would be displayed on YouTube and compared to this cool-sounding song you're playing in this Mickey video. But, no one back then knew an internet or some site with old videos posted would exist. I guess they were oblivious.

I wonder if any of those 6 babes are still hot at least almost as hot as in that video, they're all at least in their mid 40s.

The Juxtaposition of the song and the video is suprisngly effective. It's inspired.

With no disrespect to the cheerleaders - they are quite unfashionable chunky, and they have been shot with these intersting, sometimes grimmacing, facial expressions which are unusual and adds to the whole experience.

I'm a chunky guy myself - so I wanna just add that what I've said is no disrespect to the dancers, I think it was a brave step from Toni. I decided to read about Tony Basil and she's a hidden gem.

I'm not american - but the few clips I've seen of cheerleaders in films is that they are usually very thin. Why is that usually the case ? I think I'm missing something.

Yes in my high school, 98% of the cheerleaders were thin but in shape. That's just the way it is I guess. I don't really like it, because it basically is another portrayal again of how girls are supposed to be extremely thin. Beauty can have curves too.
