Took me 2 days to try to take my credit card information on xbl, microsoft links you to some other website that has all your information and when you choose to edit your payment options the only options they give you is to add more fucking credit cards. You have to call and get put on hold for 45 minutes just to take your information back, fucking assholes overcharged me two months on a account i only agreed to pay for 1 month.

This might be unrelated but my first gen Ps3 finally gave up on life (bastard was the top of the line model when they came out which means it was the overpriced model) so not only did I have to disassemble the ps3 to take the disc out but I lost ALL of my 4 years of data on it because the hard drive is formated so it can be read in any other ps3! this was my only option for rescuing my data since fixing the ps3 was overpriced and not worthy...ill eventually try to fix it and getting the data.

@GamersGettingPlayed Hey, do you think downloading games from Steam is a ripoff? I know it limits your abilities to play it somewhat but atleast it's cheaper than buying a disc. You can re-download it as long as the server is up and some would say it's safer than buying a disc because discs are more likely to stop working eventually. I download PC games because I don't want to put up with the anti-piracy bullshit that doesn't let you even play your game.

That's why I haven't bought a game from a major publisher for years (the last one was BF2142).
It seems the actual 'bug' here is that the gaming industry has not thoroughly considered the effects the dumbing down of console games can have on their customers.
I was actually going through some things with Microsoft myself. I had my credit card stolen and fortunately canceled it before anything was charged, but I realized Microsoft still had it on file from when I got a Live account a while back. I had to jump through tons of hoops just to get it removed. It's complete bullshit. This was before they finally added an option to remove it, but you still can't do it from the console. You have to do it from the Xbox website.
This is why my consoles are sitting on the shelves gathering dust while I play on my PC. At least we still have some control over what we want with our games here.

And many times they make you *think* you're getting something extra on the demo (EA MMA: Get classic Randy Couture for the demo, Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit: Get to play the *real* mode, not just some halfassed cops-vs-robbers -mode)... But NO; you need to make at least 1 other person download the demo. After that they tell ya it's for the FULL game!
Games For Windows Live, same shit. Your saves are not even on your PC most of the time, but on their servers. 99% of the games that use the service corrupt the savegames every fucking week.

Seriously, everyone is fucking raging here about Steam and all this shit. Games will always stay on a disc, the whole world of won't be direct download ever. There's no two ways about it. They'll both co-exist. Several games have recently been patched so that saves are unlocked again. Jesus old man, calm the fuck down.

@GamersGettingPlayed Hey, do you think downloading games from Steam is a ripoff? I know it limits your abilities to play it somewhat but atleast it's cheaper than buying a disc. You can re-download it as long as the server is up and some would say it's safer than buying a disc because discs are more likely to stop working eventually. I download PC games because I don't want to put up with the anti-piracy bullshit that doesn't let you even play your game.

I always ignored those privacy agreement things, and sure enough companies are well aware of that fact and taking full advantage of it. I won't be so gullible from now on. All that DRM on the disk was useless. I downloaded it from pirate bay and I could even play online with friends. They should learn by now, but somehow they think it serves a purpose. Only punishes those who buy, not those whom steal, thus those whom buy, will stop buying and start stealing.

The current state of gaming makes me legitimately sad. What happened to buying a game and playing the game? What happened to finished products? Games released bug free, so that your game didn't become unplayable and in need of a patch?

I did notice this privacy agreement when EA almost FORCED me to make an account and shit for playing a fucking Dragon Age II demo. It's a fucking demo and I don't care for the content I get if I beat it.
The game isn't even that good; anyway, it's one of the reasons I refuse to touch anything EA stains with their crap.
I am offended on what Microsoft and some other companies are trying to do to us, the consumers and gamers. Most people wouldn't state something like this because they're drones.

I was actually going through some things with Microsoft myself. I had my credit card stolen and fortunately canceled it before anything was charged, but I realized Microsoft still had it on file from when I got a Live account a while back. I had to jump through tons of hoops just to get it removed. It's complete bullshit. This was before they finally added an option to remove it, but you still can't do it from the console. You have to do it from the Xbox website.

...And just TRY and download a demo from EA on to your PS3, they force you to make an EA account and give away your email and personal information. And many times they make you *think* you're getting something extra on the demo (EA MMA: Get classic Randy Couture for the demo, Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit: Get to play the *real* mode, not just some halfassed cops-vs-robbers -mode)... But NO; you need to make at least 1 other person download the demo. After that they tell ya it's for the FULL game!
