AGAIN THE MILITARY TRY'S TO INVADE AGAIN IN MAY 3 2010. PINE RIDGE, SD - Residents of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation say three helicopters tried to land at the site of Wounded Knee.
They say they're upset because they consider it sacred ground. Charley New Holy says one helicopter landed briefly just 50 feet from a cemetery.
It's not known where the helicopters came from or why they tried to land on the site. South Dakota National Guard said the helicopters did not belong to the Guard.
We just finished watching this movie in my 8th grade history class as we were learning about when the Americans kicked the natives off there land and I thought it was an excellent movie and this scene was an amazingly captivating scene.

I have been to Wounded Knee.... It was so quiet that i could hear the echoes of the past, i could hear the gunshots, the cannons, and the wounded Lakota men, women, and children. Thats how quiet it was and still is. I didn't take pictures because i thought it was disrespectful to those who have been brutally murdered in cold blood and i left it in the car. All i can say is, they maybe gone, but their spirits are still here watching over their descendants with strength and happiness. God bless.

AGAIN THE MILITARY TRY'S TO INVADE AGAIN IN MAY 3 2010. PINE RIDGE, SD - Residents of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation say three helicopters tried to land at the site of Wounded Knee.
They say they're upset because they consider it sacred ground. Charley New Holy says one helicopter landed briefly just 50 feet from a cemetery.
It's not known where the helicopters came from or why they tried to land on the site. South Dakota National Guard said the helicopters did not belong to the Guard.

JUst imagine if rather than trying to force the cultural ways and beliefs of the white man upon the Indians, we instead merged together with the natives and formed a government which accommodated their beliefs, customs, and values in such a way that both whites and Indians could live together in harmony and share this land. Sad to say it's too late for that. The damage done is irreversible!

This is a well made film (though not documentary) but it is sad that the director and writer don't understand the people he is making the film about. Quite simply where are the leading Lakota female characters? In that culture to not have prominent women is ridiculous, women were far more prominent in Lakota society than in white society at the time. And where is the laughter? Not during the massacre scene obviously. The Lakota know how to laugh no matter what. Check out the film Rez Bomb
