  • yoo he good teacher

  • been playing by ear for years (3 chord kind of guy) but never understood how it all worked or theory of it but allot of songs I just sort of figure out by the sound of it and slowly realized the three same chords kept together indifferent "keys" BUT in try to truly understand this\I get the 1 thru 8 and 8/1 being start of next set of eight but how did you know to put that next "2" on the 4th string 2nd fret? I know by sound it sounds right but what was reason? I need to redo the octave video

  • Hey man, this is a very cool lesson! ive just created some beginner courses that you might want to check out on my channel. Its the Hub of a new website >> RexPearson. com << would love for you to check it out and let me know what you think

  • Thank you Professor Guitar Dude!

  • thanks dude this is really healpful i wrote it all down the names of the notes on the scale and all the octaves and i carry it in the guitar case all the time now ty for the help!!!

  • hi, thanks for this vid, its really helping me... but, im getting ocnfused with the octaves.. i no that on the top string if you want an octave higher you miss the 5th string, and on the 4th string you go across two frets, for e.g

F on 6th string, you miss the 5th string, on the 4th string you move forward two frets (3 - 5) and vo-lah, 1 octave higher, but what about the strings lower than that? thats why i am getting confused... please can you help me!

    thank you very much!

  • This guy has more practical info than anyone I've seen!

Good job mate! Keep it up, please!

    I'm learning guitar too! :D

  • dude!!! thank you!! you rock!!!

  • I liked it

  • you are awesome being a natural teacher is a real gift...i have your catch cries drummed into my little head already. thanks

  • Wow! These videos are great! I've been learning guitar for a couple of years and these videos have really helped with theory. Thanks!

  • thankx sooo much! your great!

  • Absolutely awesome. I just hadn't 'got it' as I seem to go 'deaf' when musical theory is talked about usually. You've made a massive difference to my playing and understanding with this video. Thank you.

  • haha ur funny. but ur videos are good.

  • once again, breezing through.. you kick ass!

  • This is just so well explained. I did music theory 28 years ago, and this is just so much easier to understand than the way I was taught.

  • that was a good video!..it helped me alot!

  • why are those minors?

  • oh snap!! so it's the same with scales as with chords?? the 6 is the relative minor?

  • shouldn't that second chord be A major?? the chord after G.

  • I think you're mixing up the concept of major/minor with sharp/flat.

  • i find it easier to remember the formula for the key by:

Whole Whole Half Whole Whole Whole Half

    W W H W W W H

MAJOR MAJOR MINOR MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR MINOR

  • Comment removed

  • oops my bad there are three majors in a major key lol my bad

  • i think, like BEATITUDES79 said, i was mixing major/minor with sharp/flats

  • oh lol ok sorry

  • professor guitar dude XP, ur the BEST..great vids *thunbs up* i've never learnt something that easy!

  • Awesome teacher! Thank you for the instruction.

  • great job

  • Wow!! I learnt so much!

  • Teachers should really take this guys attitude to all subjects. "Algebra mate...right...all it is right ..is these letters they aint letters numbers". If you know a subject well you should be able to condense it to be this simple.

  • i like it seems every1 is taking notes better than i do in school...and not to mention ur lessons are fun and informative...im well on my way to picking up my second instrument!!

  • so so good...i WAS kinda scratchin my head on the previous vid, but he explained it on this one... thanks loads

  • Your videos are amazing good... i don't have a guitar yet but i am getting one and i already probably know more than someone who actually has a guitar and is paying money for lessons. I bet someone out there is paying someone over 100 dollars for lessons when they can go right on the internet and get your lessons for free.

  • I'm listening more and taking more notes than I do in any university classes....thanks alot

  • Aaaand...

Fook! It's in my head now! Awesome guitar lessons mate. I pay $15 an hour for lessons, but you make so much more sense. Thanks mate!

  • I have been trying to learn the guitar without actually learning anything about music. The result is that I have never improved. I just keep buying better guitars hoping I will sound better.Your lessons are the best that I have found and I have tried lots.Thank you please keeo up the excellent work.

  • why does the second note (A. first string, fifth fret) corespond to an Am Chord instead of an A? I mean if there was a bassist accompaniing, would he play that A to an Am guitar chord, and what chord could u play if he played an Am note???

  • Who said its an Am?

    It is A.

  • This is awesome!!! Well done matey and thank you so so so much.
