But, the thing is about my acne, is that it's not really hormonal, it is a little, but it's mostly genetics, and I just need something that will make my acne, be flat and/or clear, nothing has been working for me.

That was exactly the opposite of how my dermatologist did it. I don't remember the exact dosages anymore (I finished about 7 months ago), but she started me on a relatively low dose, then kept increasing it because my skin wasn't fully clearing up. It's actually still not fully cleared up, but it was too expensive for me to do another round with no real guarantee that it would help anything. But anyway, I'm really glad you had such awesome results! You look absolutely stunning :)

When i first started taking roaccutane My dermatologist told me that I shouldn't use any skin care products other than the ones he ones he gives me and that I should go on a diet too I've been taking it for 4 months now I don't see any results :/

I've been on Roaccutane as well and the most uncomfortable thing about it was having dried lips constantly. However it was worth it! Got rid of all the acne. I recommend it to anyone with skin problems, provided that they ask a dermatologist if they can follow this treatment.

Organic apple cider vinegar is REALLY good for scarring when diluted with water... get apply it as a toner and scars should be gone in about a month. Just a tip!

I'm so happy for you! As a teenager I had spots now and then but I didn't get acne until this last year. I'm in my 20's and it's so frustrating because you just think that it goes away when you're an adult but I had the opposite happen. I'm so glad to know that this worked for you. I took Accutane when I was 13 for about a year. I have stress breakouts too, also if I eat certain foods I can break out, really fried foods make it happen. I am so glad I did my skin is great now. I'm 31 now and hardly ever get little zits. I did get Rosacea at 19 and my skin is now more sensitive after I took it, but I think it's just me.

Oh another thing I want to tell everyone out there like aimy said accutane is not for everybody you really have to take this medicine as Alastair resource because it can really give you so many side effects I have experience dry lips dry skin also rashes on my arms headaches dry eyes peeling of my face and lips back pain lower back pain dizziness fatigued bad vision those are all the ones I can think of .... I've suffered with acne similar to how yours was since I was 11. I'm approaching my 17th birthday (in early August) and I'm still suffering. I was bullied a lot about it at school, and it's to the extent that even with make-up on you can still easily tell it's there (because of the texture). I've tried so many methods to get rid of it and nothing will completely rid of it, so I am tempted by drugs I must admit haha.

I struggle a little now though i get pissed when i get one pimple (i tend to get one or 2 here and there every now and then) and i can't determine what type of skin i have now i get so confused i am used to getting non oily lotions and makeup and now i probably shouldn't, but i am too scared i still do buy lotions for oily skin, would you say skin is still oily after accutane?
