Besides radiometric dating, you also have Tree rings that date back well before 6,000 years. The concept of radiometric dating requires math, and some basic chemistry knowledge. However the Tree rings make a great example because in order for you yourself to disprove creationism you need only count 1 by 1 till you pass the age you believe the earth is.

@JimboWizbo It's not concentrated and refined Uranium like you would find in a nuclear plant or bomb. It emits alpha radiation which will deflected by something thin as a piece of paper. Gamma radiation you would need lead to protect yourself from. Alpha radiation is more dangerous if you accidentally get it inside your body by either inhaling radioactive dust or swallowing something that's radiated. I don't believe this piece of rock he's holding emmits much.

radiation is components of atom ...if in the period of bilions of years thoose components form atoms, then fragment back to basic components ...then back to atoms ..and so on ...how will u meassure their age? u cant ..u only meassure how it was since they last went from component to atom...

the only way u could measure the age of the universe is to find an atom that was formed at the beginning and is still intact ..wich is pretty impossible
