While I like the topic of this documentary (I'm an avid fan of Cold War history), I especially like the music at the very beginning. Any idea who it's from, or is it specifically made for this show?
"The Bolshevik Revolution in Russia was the Work of Jewish Brains, Jewish Dissatisfaction and Jewish Planning, whose goal is to create a New Order in the world.
What was performed in so excellent a way in Russia, thanks to Jewish Brains and Jewish planning, shall also, through the same mental and Physical forces, Become a reality all over the world."

"Some call it Marxism — I call it Judaism."
(The American Bulletin, Rabbi S. Wise, May 5, 1935).
The city Berlin has a Slavic not a German name. Think about Berlin how it is similar to the city of Lublin. It does not have a burg or other Germanic endings. I think it comes from an old Slavic word meaning bog or marsh. The slavic languages have words that sound like berl or brlog. Meaning fishing village or bog or swamp/meadow. The etymology of Brandenburg comes from Slavic brenna also meaning swamp. It is 100% Slavic not German, ironically.
DDR had pretty good quality because Soviet wanted DDR to be the communiststate that the aboard world would see, the other communist countries where not that good as DDR was. And Stasi fucked things up
I don't mean to put you on the spot, and i'm not directing this at you, but I think there's something you should know:
That's a fucking lie.
My father lived in the DDR. He spent his childhood living in a car, in very painful conditions, without nutrition, and was pushed by the Stasi/Vopos everytime he tried to make something out of himself.
East Germany was NOT better, it was horrible. My dad had to enlist to stay alive.
Whats this? A rubbish, anti-communist propanda. I could do the same thing with america; i couldt walk the streets to find people witch are unsatisfied with the life in the USA. A east german newspaper had a poll about what they thought was better; the life now or the life in DDR. About 80% said that the life was better under the DDR.
So go and check you sources better you ignorant fool!!!
Alezal, i would like to know wich newspaper you are talking about! Of course there are people here who would still like to live like they did in the GDR - but I would estimate they make max. 10-15% of the "eastern" german population.
Theres a museum some guys were starting in 2004 in former east germany that focused on the stuff people had to buy and childrens toys and food and stuff. Most of the stuff looked just as good as what i grew up with in the 1970's. It was pretty intresting. I beleave it was in an old childrens school/hospital.
Jeans tragen war was besonderes?
The kid looked like she was having a fun time..? If you replaced the music, I wouldn't see any difference in anything.

This movie is unbelievably sad and just further shows that communism is a despicable ideology that must be eradicated. It's dictatorship.

In fact today in section of the city there are street names with Slavic sounds and names as a legacy to their founders the Slavic people.

Your're totally right, my granfather saw east germany in 1959 and it was so sad and disgusting, plus he was being fallowed by the police.

I'd rather live under a Nazi regime than the DDR. The economy was booming under Hitler.

@HokiesAndDawgs
.... are you mad? the economy was booming because of war industry .... damaging whole europe in the end!

simply a nice film, isn't it?!
i think a tragedy is the changes all of a sudden
and the lost of their own styles for getting cheap
jeans. western germans can find more and more
good things in the former east. not by a nostalgie
but for more constructive reasons.

The poll says 80%? Wow, amazing. Polls show similar results in the former Soviet Union too.
