  • this is gooddd!! or GODDDD whateva... i have been wondering what the heck modifers do! hat on backwards to you, very seriously thanks ya Shiftee.

  • "buddons" haha

  • in spanish "

  • Is it true he graduated from Harvard?

  • @TheDJED12 dont know, but form all this videos... i would believe it.

  • love his since of humor!! great vids!

  • And now I know how the modifiers works, Thanks.

  • Thank u so much for making a video like this. Have been putzin around with traktor pro for awhile now and this video kinda made everything click. Keep up the good work. And wouldn't mind seeing more tutorials like this

  • The UI for mapping is really shitty... beeing able to fullsize the options screen would be a start to fixing it....

  • Im growing a beard just for this video.

  • Come on part three!!!! I cant wait any longer! =)

  • Thanks for the Tips!

  • what about the controller editor that come with Maschine, qhen i try doing modifiers, it doesnt work??

  • "buddons"?

  • he is awesome

  • This video is right on the money. Even reading through Native Instruments' Controller Manager guide doesn't really give the level of explanation that DJ Shiftee does. I'm actually surprised that Native Instruments doesn't have an instructional video for this noting that ALL Controllers and anyone wanting to modify their own controller layout needs this. I would guess that very few DJs are also programmers.

I have a controller with multi-color buttons but this should lead me where I need to be.

  • @MrDigitalTiger I've read good things about the so-called Traktor Bible that is for sale, but it's quite expensive and not available digitally. And I'm like you; I need to see it done hands-on.

  • Respect to this vid

  • I have something nerdier. Creating an additive synthesizer from scratch in reason 4.0!!!!! WHAT!!!?!?!??1

  • Shiftee is a fucking god, looking forward to the free giveaway because i haven't got a fucking clue how to do that mapping to this level haha!

  • It's a really informative video, but what's the benefit of using modifiers instead of pad pages on the Maschine?

  • @chayoz I would think it would be easier to use NI's controller editor in conjunction with Traktor's mapping also. You make one custom template for each.

  • dont forget to let us know where you keep your copy of scarface Shiftee lol

  • jeezus u need a degree in this shit

  • @entyce66 programing

  • haha, buddon

  • the best way to do this for mac users is using Xtreme Mapping it allows the learn feature of add out also you can copy and paste modifier settings and it has a wizard to set up your controller in some of the more used configs such as mixers, effects and the such. I don't use traktor anymore to set up and controllers. The only problem is at date there is no crossover to traktor to test it without having to import it in every time you make a change :(

  • great tutorial as always.even though i couldn't get the leds on my apc20 to light up.

keep up the good work-waiting for the next vid

    ONE

  • buddon

  • One option to make mapping the LEDs more simple would be to buy Xtreme Mapping from the Apple App Store (sorry PC guys, it's Mac only) for $5.99 and it allows the Learn functionality on Add Out, as well as offering an Add In/Out option that will generate the commands for both the In and Out, which you can then Learn. Much faster than going through the Traktor interface.

  • i've been using my maschine mappings with my traktor scratch duo for quite some time now, i've got all the essential (for me) functions covered, but now that Shiftee brought up the flashy LED's mapping, another thing came up, can you make the LED's flash? for example, my C1 button (the top left pad) is mapped as a CUP for channel A. is it possible, that when i hit it and the track starts to play, the LED would start blinking (as in "yeah, mate, channel A is playing")?

  • cannot wait for part 3 :)

  • Dang. You warned me, and strait-up told me it would be nerdy...but I didn't listen. This was MAD nerdy, even for me. This is a warning - this tutorial is for LEVEL 13 NERDS ONLY. I am a level 9 so I couldn't keep up. I'm feelin' the humor tho; keep the Shiftee joints coming!

  • Thanks for passing some serious Traktor/midi mapping knowledge, Shiftee. Respect!

Whoever "disliked" this video is a douche bag.

  • excelent tutorial

  • Great stuff, wish I had maschine & traktor pro 2. It's cool to learn about there functionality even though I don't own them. The comic value of your videos is priceless. I hope to someday have the money to take a Dubspot online course.

  • @Coffeerun7 So true tho. I'm lucky enough to live in NYC and took the Weekend spin session course just to use the equipment. I already knew almost everything they taught just from these videos alone!!!. :-)

  • Finally an in depth video about traktor mappings, you guys are great !

  • can i do the same stuff with X1 ???

  • @gavrbboy yes, the above techniques will work with any MIDI controller.

  • SO useful. love it! :)

  • Finally some videos that actually explain this stuff and how to do it yourself! Thank you so much!

    DJ Shiftee!

  • I just spelled that wrong 0.0

  • Oh swiftee, you such a swiftee...

  • music? no????

  • Free mapping..YES!

  • I high fived that guy cause he's ma bro.
