Absolutely true. And this song requires a real musician trained ear to understand....and from there' it's an amazing piece. That is why many observers will not like it, but if you can understand it, it's AWESOME!!!! Beautiful!

and as a jazz musician myself, let me just say that there's a difference between a rip-off and a song that's inspired by jazz. there are plenty of songs out there that are inspired by jazz, phish and otherwise. to call all of them rip-offs is setting an absurd standard for originality.
