  • I don't think this movie has anything to do with DJ MachHale's Pendragon series. It seems to be more based around the time of King Arthur, who's acutal name was 'Arthur Pendragon' the name was not stolen from DJ MacHale.

  • I love this book

  • is it a nice novel??

  • ok, seriously people? u had to steal the name pendragon from D.J.Machale and make a very pathetic movie using the name? *sigh* im not blaming the person who posted this trailer, but i am blaming the person that made up this movie. PATHETIC!

  • @tjtaterbug not sure if you are trolling or just very stupid. Im gonna assume you're just very stupid. The name Pendragon originally belongs to Uther and to a lesser extent his son from the arthurian legends of King Arthur.

  • @Hinichio well, sry! i dont King Arthur, so i dont really know much about him or stuff that happens with him. gesh.

  • @tjtaterbug Well then you should say a thing... It's only logical!

  • *Shouldn't, typo...

  • @OpiumNomad im sry if i sounded like i was yelling at you. i have bad anger management problems. and besides, i should be blaming my friend that told me 2, and i quote, "look at this dumb trailer for a movie. they stole it from pendragon." end quote. i mean she knows almost everything about king arthur and that sorta stuff. and again, very sry.

  • @tjtaterbug It's cool man, no hate! I'm not on youtube to argue with people anyways ^^

  • this is an insult to the author that wrote the book.

  • @iMuzicz This is something different-its not the Pendragon series

  • how do u pronounce t ; pen-dragon or pen-dru-gon

  • me = pendragon book lover

  • Swords, and shields, and swords, and beards, and swords, and graveling voices, and swords, and girls, and swords, and bows, and swords, and men crying, and swords...

  • BABHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

  • somehow i feel like its a parody of a good film

  • @helogarci99 It's parody acting, you can't really take it seriously :L

  • lol.. I am speechless .. not in a good way

  • I'm going off to watch 'Excalibur' from 1981. I don't expect I shall return. In fact, I MEAN not too.

  • there is but one word for this:

    Lol?

The higly american accents are terrible:P

  • this sucks is this the real movie trailer?

  • I never knew Line of Pendragon came from Norfolk. That's one in the eye for the Cornish. Historical facts who needs them.

  • This BETTER not be based on the book series.

  • @perrottafamily1 yeah i know this has nothing to do with pendragon *hope it becomes a movie though my friends say i should be courtney and my best guy friend should be bobby because we startd a huge pendragon craze in our city (most ppl our age) Yay his friends agree too*

  • looks like a bad interpretation of Conan

  • This is kinga limping, think you not? But I do like how you play with the symbology. It's a good effort as an echo of realogy.

  • Oh my goodness, Aaron is normally so gentle (for a man), I would never have thought of him as playing the role of Artos the Bear. Just goes to show you never know. ;)

  • Ok, to all of you who are dissing these people, the Burns' are some of my best friends. I used to go to church with them. I know them. They made this movie, not to prove what great actors they are, not to entertain people, not to say "Look at us, we made a movie practicaly in our backyard" - they made it to give glory to their God and mine, to show that God has a plan in everything He does. Sure, they didn't use accents and the graphics weren't as good as "Pirates", but they still did good.

  • @Rowan7131 Did your God go to the theatre to see this or did he just hire the DVD?

  • @OccasionallyEpic May He strike you dead for blasphemy. I really hope you didn't mean that because if you did you are really going to regret it. Galatians 6:7 says "Be not deceived; God is not mocked." I strongly advise that you cease to mock Him before you wish with every part of you being that you had not.

  • @Rowan7131 The Bible, a book about your God, says not to mock him. That's unexpected. Got any proof that God even exists please? :)

(without the circular and rediculous; it says in the Bible... the Bible is the word of God... it says in the Bible... ad infinitum)

  • @Rowan7131 Also, don't get me wrong, I think this movie looks very good considering its pretty much home made. I just think your comments are stupid.

  • @OccasionallyEpic I'm glad you like the movie, but why do you think my comments are stupid?

  • @Rowan7131 Oh, looks like only one of my comments got posted. I said, why quote the bible? The old testament is a load of rubbish, much the same as the new testament and there is no proof or hint that a God (if any, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist or otherwise (Thor perhaps?)) exists. I think that trying to invoke an invisible, seemingly non existent thing to kill people, is pretty stupid. How would God go about killing me anyway, maybe send a bear down, Elijah style? Yes stupid indeed.

  • @Rowan7131 your comments are stupid because you're ill informed and your arguments are circular, I'm guessing you're from the U.S and I understand that the Christian religion is a lot more dominant over there, but that's no reason for ignorance. Surely you can see that saying "I know God exists because it says so in the Bible" (how do you know the bible is accurate) "It is the word of God", is pointless and will get you no where. Imagine I said the same about a different book.

  • @OccasionallyEpic Oh no wait, my original comments were posted; go read.

  • @Rowan7131 And pardon my asking, but what is the normal procedure for being 'struck dead', a lightning bolt perhaps?

  • @OccasionallyEpic There is a question in my church's catechism book that, in a Christian's opinion, answers your question: "How do we know there is a God?" The answer is, "The creation around us and the Bible show us there is a God." Look around you. Evolution is an outdated belief which is incapable of explaning how we got here, so don't try to pull that trick out of your bag of excuses. So, excluding every belief for which there is not a smidgin of proof, God is the only way we could exist.

  • @Rowan7131 not a smidgin of proof? you've clearly not looked. Just google Evolution, proof of Evolution or any other phrase to do with Evolution. Also, "Evoulation is an outdated belief which is incapable of explaning how we got here" I'm not sure what you mean by that, but Evolution doesn't really try to explain how we got here in the way I feel that you mean it, it explains the diversity of life. You're the one who brought up evolution. I was saying; there is no proof of your God or any God.

  • @OccasionallyEpic Wow. I cannot believe you said that. You obviously have no sense of preservation, because if I was God, and fortunately for about half the population of the world I am not, then you would be dead last night. I mean, don't get me wrong, I don't hate you, but that's what used to happen to blasphemers.

  • @Rowan7131 You're saying, if you were the God that your Holy Book says your god IS, then I would be dead. CORRECT. I am not dead though; my comment is proof of that. The reason? Your God does not exist, your book is the word of men, not the word of a celestial being of some sort. I find it a shame to the human species that one such as your self could be so warped by a religious dogma that you would happily kill some one for criticising you!

  • @Rowan7131 Lastly, read through all my comments and take the theme of them, I missed a few of your comments at first and was just replying to them individually, my apologies if some of the replies are not in order / don't appear to make sense at first, try to look for the relevant reply :)

  • when u try to convert a chinese movie to english , u get this >

    penis + dragon = pendragon

    this is really lame

  • @beaverlover22

I agree, but if you have a crappy script then the story irrelevant. Just based on the few things they said in the trailer, I think if they would've improved the script, made the actors use accents it woulve helped a lot (they chose those people to play the roles so you can't do much about the acting..). I havent seen in yet( I plan to) so I cant say anything for sure, but the shots you use and the way you edit something has nothing to do with the budget, for the most part anyway

  • This is like making a film about the Irish potato famin and having a bunch of Welsh actors, fucking stupid americans.

  • @adamwanstall13

agreed! Most American actors just use accents... but clearly they weren't quite up to the challenge

  • Arthos:)) is this a joke?

  • i thought pendragon waas a traveler that flumed to different territories???? or am i missing something

  • I hate it when americans make films about British legends. They always do a pathetic job.

  • @LeppardPrintAnimal

I dont think all americans are bad, but this one is definitely not helping my case. It's pretty bad.

  • Poor mans Excalibur

  • This is one of the worst epic moves ever!!!

  • was on tv tonight - really hard to watch through the horrible acting. I gave up. I did think the costuming was OK. Locations were nice. Theme music was decent, a tad slow to me. since it was on a xtn channel I get the idea its one of those 'we want to compete w/ hollywood' xtn productions. Stick w/ personal stories and hire better actors can talk and act at the same time. Its worse bec. ur sad/embarrassed for them trying so hard.

  • Love the comments from people trying to be cool by bashing the movie. Sad, little people that they are.

While not a Hollywood epic, it looks to be very watchable if you're into this type of movie. Kudos to the makers for being able to use a budget usually reserved for 30 second commercials and being able to produce an entire movie.

  • C'mon! I would want a Dora movie that was 100 hours long before this! Oh yeah, lets get the OTHER kind of Pendragon. ya know, the ones by D.J. mchale.

  • is it made with the mobile phone camera?wtf

  • For some reason all small independently made movies seem to have the same quality of motion. I don't know if it's the frame rate on the cameras they're using or what. Born of Hope has a similar feeling, though it is a much better movie :P

  • Okay, guys, for an independent movie made on less than a tenth of a million dollars, this is actually pretty good.

  • the dragon..cock of his father.

with his father cock he set out to get lain and lose his virginity.

  • this looks cheap ,shit , boaring

  • i just finished 6 and bout to start 7, not sure if he has a sword but i could be wrong???

  • is this a gag trailer or serious?

  • I lol'd

  • Another shit americanized film. first off its pendraig which is head dragon not pendragon. and i dont think they had american accents in those times.

  • @davo7461 its not english history its welsh history. pendragon comes from pendraig which means head dragon!

  • @hughzi6969 No that's not true, it's english history. The to peoples shown in the film are what the english culture is mainly formed of. Britons and saxons.

  • trash movie?

  • I love that name: PENDRAGON!

  • @WeeeWriter its a dragon pen

  • Wow, this looks pretty pathetic.

  • @joustingdude it is so bad it is hilarious

  • what does this have to do with pendragon? Where's the time traveling, and Bobby and the sexy girls

  • @sansaview i was asking myself the same thing!

  • @sansaview who r the "sexy girls " ur thinking of?? and yeah this doesnt seem 2 have anything 2 do with that series =(

  • @ilovesparky13 it is as cheesy as bad porn without even the porn

  • @davo7461 An acquaintence of mine works with one of the actors in this movie. The jokes and snickering hover just behind his back like a thick and constant fog.

  • if they had ever actually put any time and money, work into this movie it could be good, but it was made horribly.

    so it probably sucks.

  • err bobby dosen't have a dad

  • I got really excited for a minute thinking this was about my Pendragon. An awesome adventure series by D.J. MacHale. But alas, no such luck. Besides making a movie out of it would be near impossible. But I'd LOVE to have James Cameron have a crack at it. Only in my dreams.

  • What about Ed Wood? He was a low budget director/writer/set maker/costume designer /lunch maker/ janitor and talent driver. The acting was considered to be the worst ever copied to film. And people had no problem making fun of that aspect and most of the projects themselves. Whenever any film project is offered to the public for sale it will be subject to critique. Christian or secular film should be open to comment. BTW: I couldn't understand the lines of the lead lady ... at all.

  • A tad rough on the acting sometimes, but overall a great job for the resources available - can't have everything perfect on a first low budget film.

  • The acting was a little rough, but the incredible effort they put into this is definitely worth commending! Not many independent Christian films have attempted so much...well, at least that's what I think. :)

  • Hobey Ho! Lochosher

  • this doesn't have any resemblence to the book at all, and if this turns out to be a movie, im sticking to the books. BIG TIME

  • @PokemonBreeder101 its already a movie, its very amateur though! i still like it though, has a pretty good message

  • Hobey Ho!

  • i didnt know americans were in england back then.....the things you learn on youtube hey!.....pass.

  • For your information, the English wouldn't have spoken what is known as English today. We couldn't understand them if they spoke the original language of the story's setting. A British accent with today's English wouldn't make it realistic to the time period at all.

  • Comment removed

  • @disneyZorrofan1 you need to show respect for a group that has low budget and are trying to do it for God

  • Thanks I needed that! They did do an amazing job for their budget on the special effects, sets, costumes!

  • WOW...I would watch this!!!

  • Awesome movie! God bless!

  • Solid trailer for your resources! I pray God continues to give you opportunities to work with film. My one piece of advice, and PLEASE don't take this the wrong way, would be to start smaller. I'm a new film maker, and I've started with small shorts, and have been learning the ropes of lighting, coaching actors, editing, audio, etc. My first film was about 5 minutes, my upcoming film is about 15. You have ambitious dreams, and don't let anyone get you down. Keep working ya'll.

  • i met them! yay! i met Mr. Quinlan(Quinlan),Aaron Burns(artos) and Marilyn Burns(wennevervia)!! it was so cool=).

  • and i saw them film one day when my two brothers were extras.

  • Not bad for a low-budget film... It could be a LOT better if the lighting and acting was vamped up a little

  • nick burns(cadeyrn) was the best actor=). most face expressions and i think it is kinda funny that his hair gets shorter and longer and then shorter all through the movie=)..lol

  • Bobby's parents disappeared so he doesn't have a dad so this the Pendragon Series

this is garbage :( pitiful really

  • Pendragon sword of his father doesn't have anything to do with the series...if that is what you mean.

  • why do you say that?

  • @SuperSwingdancer

    cuz he doesnt thats why

  • no i mean why do you call it garbage?

  • lol PLEASE say this is fake but i have a bad feeling it isnt....

  • it isn't that bad....for their first film.

  • no way that would be merchant of death, bobbys only what, like 14 in the the first book! this dude looks like 20 or something!

  • freakin lord of the rings

  • put me on the list for the Pendragon Blu-Ray!

  • This would have been a great King Arthur(Artos) flick with a better budget, cast, etc, etc. Check out Stephen Lawhead's 5 book Pendragon cycle ( a celtic take on Artos(Arthur))

  • Burns Family Studio is a family doing home movies in their own backyard and other places that they can find. Using money that people donate...think of them that way while watching it. That will make the movie look really good.

  • Pendragon doesnt even have a sword does he?

  • yeah he does! it is sweet!

  • no your wrong this is actually Aurthur Pendragon also know know as king Arthur from like the middle ages this has nothing to do with the flume traveling bobby Pendragon its a pretty good movie so plz don't get your characters messed up

  • @tizashie no he doesnt

  • @tizashie no no he doesn't

  • @tizashie pendragon is most commonly the name of his father and his house`s name

  • the same thing happened to me aslamia

  • I was typing in Pendragon by DJ McHale out of sheer boredom and got all excited when I saw 'movie trailer'.

So after full screen and turning the volume up I was frusterated thinking, "That's not how I imagines Bobby to look like but ah well.."

Then got mad cause it turned out not to be Bobby Pendragon... *tear*

  • same here, but there is a trailor for book 10. I think its fake tho :(

  • Does anyone know why the music to this trailer does not in any way match the score of the movie???

  • I was hoping forr the book series Pendragon

  • ya me 2 i hope they make a movvie about that

  • i saw this movie, great story line, great directing, horrible actors and actresses.

  • ... no comment

  • what about the book series Pendragon i was hoping this trailer would be about that lol

  • The one by MacHale or a different series? As far as I know there's been no option or movie deal for that series. Were you looking for a book trailer?

  • me two lol

  • This is utterly ridiculous, whoever decided to use American accents needs to be fired and never work in movies again. Imagine for just one second, a western movie with Bob Hoskins and Michael Caine and their familiar cockney accents, would the be a great move I ask?

  • Why does it bother you so much? I thought it was a great movie for its budget. And by the way, actors have to be trained in order to do a specific accent. Training takes time and money, and its likely that neither was in the budget.

  • Some people have the natural talent for accents...although...it would be hard to find more than 5 people who have that.

  • Yes, some people do. It's not easy to find them though, and they'd likely ask for more money than the average amateur actor would.

  • I wonder how historically accurate this is, regarding setting, costumes and props. I think I can spot two errors - leather lorica segmentata and dual sword wielding. At least there are no "Woads", lol.

  • I saw this movie, it was pretty good but the actors weren't professional, of course cause they're all families doing it. I can't talk though cause I'm no actress myself. But I was very impressed with all the filming and special effects and fighting. Plus I think it's super cool what they've done and how they all worked together.

  • "I beg...for acting lessons."

  • It is truly amazing what the managed to pull off. I only hope their hard work is paid off.

Does anyone know what the final production budget cost?

  • I saw the video at a film festival. It was kind of a let down. The sets and props are phenomenal. The acting, not so much. One thing they could've done to bring this up to par would be to shoot it in 24P. Regardless of it's flaws, this is a brilliant attempt at an epic for a first timer.

  • And I have do add: when you dont have a budget then dont do something that wants to be epic ... then u gotta do a kammerspiel or a comedy

  • oh where am I here ... all these trailers have less than direct to video quality ... looks more like some ambitious amateurs .. well I couldnt have done it any better ^^

  • hahaha I thought you where my friend who has a youtube lol it is still a cool vid!

  • hey it looks great! ignore all the other rude comments. how did you get the trailer on youtube?? c u sunday!!!

  • Looks good!

  • Kay...so TOTALLY not the Pendragon that I was expecting. That scared me for a minute, I thought they made the book into this crappy thing...no offense. DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF THEY'RE ACTUALLY MAKING A PENDRAGON: THE MERCHANT OF DEATH MOVIE??

  • Keep it up!!

  • It looks absolutely awesome! Can't wait to see it!! Great job, guys! :D

  • well, having seen this, i have to say that it was not as bad as i thought the movie would be, Its very low budget, seeing as its actually a family that put it out. The acting was... tollerable when you remember who made it but the main female i do have to say was the worst of the lot. however, for a low budget, familiy made, filmed, acted, produced ect.. It could have been alot worse!! they didnt do that bad. I only enjoyed it cause i wasnt expecting it to be very good, but you will laugh

  • This looks really, really, really, bad!

...Maybe Merlin can cast a spell... Naw, it would need more than a spell to save this awful looking pile of crap.

I think I'll just stick to Excalibur and King Arthur 2004.

  • dude...you gotta look at what they had to work with! For their resources, they did a phenomenal job!

  • Looks great for a low-budget film, but the accents are annoying

  • omg. this ain't no pendragon i was lookin for. No saint danes, no uncle press. no gunnies.. LOL!! BULLSHIT

  • Shallow stuff. To some Americans history seems to be one big soup - throw the whole lot in.

  • I see they're still trying.

  • looks like they may have done a good job with what they had.

  • I) This film looks like it's on a budget of around £10.

II) I don't think that people in dark age England ever had American Accents.

III) Isn't it wrong for 'Christians' to do a film revolving around any part of the Arthurian Legend as the original legends are so steeped in paganism and wizardry etc?

  • well they wouldn't have had English accents either. And point of fact they would not a have spoke modern English at all, so your problem with the American accent is pointless. In any case if you know the true linguistics concepts you would know the American English sound more like the sound of early late middle ages English the Modern British English does since a language changes more at its point of origin that it does in the places it spreads to.

  • "..a language changes more at its point of origin that it does in the places it spreads to."

So does that go for Latin into Italian? Which most scholars say is the closest thing to Latin. Even so that now the Roman Catholic Church gives an Italian pronunciation to the Latin language?

Surely being Christian you will accept as correct anything which the "Holy Mother Church" does?

  • Either way only the Saxons would speak anything related to English, since the Romanzied Britons would have spoke Latin and or a Celtic Dialect. And no its not wrong to do Christian themes in the film because the Romans brought Christianity to Britain. Ambrosius Aurelianus and other Britons who fought the Saxons at Mount Badon were Roman style Christians. The actual people that the legends came from were Christians & stories show Arthur as a Christian, despite also using pre-chrisitan myths.

  • Perhaps you should should read "KING ARTHUR-HISTORY AND LEGEND" (2004 Folio Soc'y Ed.) in which it states:

"Were there any instances of the name Artorius recorded in Britain? A Soldier called Lucius Artorius Castus who was stationed in Britain in the 2nd Century AD. Not only that he was the only know person to bear any variant of the name Arthur between the second and fourth centuries." (pg.4)

So no, he would not have been a Christian.

  • 1. It cost them a lot more than $5 USD.

    2. Accents are pointless. At least they didn't attempt an Old West accent, if that's what worried you. Keep in mind that just ten years ago, most Asian villains in Hollywood still spoke only English.

    3. The second century would have been enough time for conversions, but cuts it close.

    4. The pagan influence cam after, as there was a pagan resurgence in Britain during St. Patrick's era.

  • is this going to be in the SAICFF?

  • Yes, that is the plan. SAICFF this year will be amazing. I'm really looking forward to it!

  • dude i doubt this is the bobby pendragon series , its a diff pendragon

  • This movie looks like garbage, camera angles need alot of work.

  • Today 9/20/08 the Pendragon audio team came to MELEE and recorded fighting noise to be used in the movie. My voice was used for dieing sounds.

  • i dont get it i thought this preview was from the series of the book pendragon well i dint know bobby pendragon had a father wait its this really pendragon argh!! im confused!!

  • please its a brittisch story, get some people that speak english not american.....

  • I recommend that you take this film and get a professional mix done on it, instead of attempting to do it all in the desktop.

    What do you think?

  • The team is working on it. We are taking audio very seriously as a major part of post-production. The trailer was put together last year very quickly. The final film will have much better audio.

  • Lol the guy that says "God just doesn't have a pupose for you days, but a pupose for your life" looks a little liek Wes Craven. XD

  • Also, this looks pretty good for and indie(if it is indie) Christian film. I would see it. Looks like it would appeal to not only Christians, but to other people who like action perhaps?(it looks pretty action adventure) So that's cool.

  • Yes, this is an independent film. You're right, the film is meant to be entertaining to everyone, not just Christians, but it does have a positive Christian message. I hope it appeals to many people.
