Taylor Swift is so god damn self centered. She hears her name in the category, delays the freaking announcements, runs up and hugs everyone, then we have to have half the interview be about how excited she is. She's got WAYYYY to big of an ego. When Brad and Carrie announced the ACM nominees, did you see them run around the stage hugging everyone sayin "Im having a really good day!"! well yeah, Fearless is more mainstream, but her sound is obviously going to change a lot in two years, and also a lot of faith hills and leann rimes later albums sound more pop too, so its just a natural progression

She only performed there once, and she sucked doing it. Opry Calender, that doesnt mean anything.. they have other artists there that are not inducted. Doesn't mean they are going to get a free pass. Carrie performed regularly, shows respect for the Opry, is female vocalist.

American Idol is a popularity contest that is all political. Look at Sanjaya. American Idol is where people go when they don't want to do what every other HARD WORKING artist does and that is work your way to the top from the bottom. Carrie Underwood got everything handed to her. Not saying she doesn't deserve SOME of the awards she has gotten, but to me Taylor is an artist, Carrie is just a pretty face with a decent voice. Just my opinion. And I agree with kirsten613, seriously, get a life.

are you serious? or just silly? american idol? taylor could not get past the first additions. she sings idiotic songs, and we whats more cant sing worth a lick. and you know it. popularity contest? delusional much? sure it is, but carrie sold 13 mllion records, won female vocalist of the year 3 times in a row, has album of the year cma nom, best new artist grammy. she has been compared with the likes of beyonce. taylor wasnt asked to sing on just stand up, carrie was. get real and get a clue.

Carrie has been signed LONGER then Taylor has been. So therefore of course she would have more records sold, awards, etc... So your argument is STUPID unless you get all the facts right. Carrie and Taylor are great in their own ways. Taylor has Carrie beat in some things, where so Carrie may have her beat in others. You can't win anything you say because you don't even know what you are talking about. I think I know the industry a lot more then you do considering Im in college for Music Business

Carrie was only signed for a year longer. her first album sold 7 million, taylor won't get that. Carrie got the best new artist grammy right off the bat, taylor won't be able to get that. taylor made this the second time she was rude. she did at the grammy nom's, she started hugging people and artists were not acknowledged. she is 18, not 5. The announcer put her in her place later for being annoying. She prevented Carrie, the frontrunner, from having her name called.

Carrie fans will never "cry" because there is no way in hell Taylor w/ill ever beat her in the category of 'Top Female Vocalist'. Carrie's vocals blow Taylor's away by miles (I like Taylor's music, but her voice is FLAAAT)

Okay, I never said that Taylor was this amazing singer who can do no wrong. She really, REALLY needs to work on her live singing, and I agree, her new single is nothing to brag about. But my point is Taylor is writing these songs from things she knows and is actively involved in her music, which in my opinion is an ARTIST. Carrie is a singer, who stands there and looks pretty. So what if she CO-wrote SOME of the songs on her album? She is nothing amazing either. Thats all I'm saying.

She's so suprised, because just last year she won the Horizon award - for up-and-coming artists. To go from Horizon Award to Female Vocalist of the Year in one year is pretty much astounding.
