I would have to agree, I've had the pleasure of refereeing several of Gang's matches. Inside the ring and in the locker room, you won't find a better person.
It's not like these guys are on the road constantly. They show up for nostalgia nites in small towns to connect with some fans and put a little cash in their pocket. They're not all Mickey Rourke style where this is the only way for them to survive. And do you really expect them to look awesome after 20-30 years?

There's something very pathetic about this. I remember watching the One Man Gang back in the 80s on TV, in a professionally produced match, in front of a crowd of thousands. Here I see him emerging from a plastic tarp, filmed by an amateur, wrestling some little guy in a high school gym with a tiny, lukewarm audience.
Alright, let's just forget the way these two guys look now and focus on what they did in their prime. One Man Gang was a former UWF champ and WWF superstar. Enough said there. Porkchop holds a special place for me because he was the headliner in the AWA Mississippi territory in the late 70's before they were bought out by Bill Watts. First wrestling I ever watched. He had a big feud with The Mongolians, who were managed by Percy Pringle (Paul Bearer). Porkchop, you're still the man-
My God, I saw Pork Chop years ago when he was tag teaming with a brother named Tom Jones. I think the two of them might have been Mid-Atlantic tag team champs in the late 70's.
Whatever weight OMG lost looks like Porkchop found. I remember watching Lucha Libre on Channel 47 in New York area. The wrestling was from California, and the announcers spoke in Spanish. Among the wrestlers were Black Gordman, Great Goliath, Freddie Blassie, Victor Rivera, Raol Mata, and of course PorkChop.
Hey ddenuci. I too remember watching the wrestling out of Los Angeles. It was in the Olympic Auditorium during the 1970's. I remember when Pork Chop Cash had that big afro and he also had a feud with Roddy Piper. Aside from that, I watched all the other wrestlers you mentioned here. Do you remember Dennis Stamp and the late Crusher Verdu? How about Java Ruuk, Mr. Mexico, and Big Zulu? Zulu and Pork Chop were tag team partners for a while until Zulu turned heel.
Ken: Of the names you mentioned, I remember Mr. Mexico and the Magnificent Zulu. In fact,I remember a great battle royale the Lucha Libre televised where Andre and Zulu were the last 2 left in the ring. Of course, Andre won, but Zulu had him tied up in a full nelson for a while, which was impressive. And, of course, I remember referee Johnny "Red Shoes" Dugan.
Hello ddenuci. I too remember referee Johnny "Red Shoes" Dugan. I think he practically refereed almost every match on the program. What was the name of the main ring announcer? He was an older man with white hair and even appeared in the 1982 film "Rocky III." He announced the names of both Rocky Balboa and Clubber Lang(Mr. T.). He also had a very distinct voice. Do you also remember Dennis Stamp and "Irish" Mickey Doyle?
The announcer was Jimmy Lennon..his son does announcing for boxing. Also guys do you remember the cage match with Victor Rivera & Gordman..Goliath tries to interfere and Rivera and him go punch for punch on top of cage and Rivera drops him to the canvas
How about John Tolos? Rey Mendoza? He was great! The tv announcers were Luis Magana & Miguel Alonso. If anybody has footage of california Wrestling please post. Also dont forget the 1972 battle Royale won by Bruno Sammartino
This is more fake then what you see on TV, in this day and age...sooooo bad
