  • I had it twice. I'm still here, what you got now? Swine flue...MEH.

  • GET A NEW CAMERA! Laggy piece of shit

  • Comment removed

  • A really late response, but I remember Thunderf00t's swine flu video was made. I scrolled through the comments to see many comments that had testimonials of people having the swing flu and getting better within days (without a doctor's help) were being down thumbed.

When I made a comment pointing this out, one of Thunderf00t's fanboys threw a fit. I had some fun with that.

  • My girlfriend and our daughter didn't even get the flu and they live in the same house where I was coughing all over the place . The idea that "healthy" people can be killed by this virus is due to our very low standard for calling someone "healthy" . I remember when Jerry Garcia died and the news called it "natural causes" , even though he was only 53 . I remember wondering what classified as "natural " causes , could that be falling off a cliff , heart attack , cancer ?

  • Probably a creation of the Military Industrial Complex. Scientists went to Europe and dug up graves of victims from the massive flus pandemic victims and the virus was still viable and they brought it back to their laboratories. Why?

Do conspiracy theorists believe they did this to genocide populations?

  • It really it isn't that bad . I got it , it was mild as the flu goes . I have been mucher sicker . Bronchitis or Strep throat is way worse . I used to get sick all the time when I was a kid , then I stopped taking antibiotics , now I almost never get sick . I was over Swine Flu in 4 days .

  • Just curious, did you have that expensive blood work done to verify that it was swine flu? Be honest.

  • I know it was Swine Flu because my girlfriend's sister works in a health clinic at a major university , so when she got sick they were afraid of a "major outbreak " because she could have infected people . They swabbed the inside our noses and I guess grew cultures , because it was a few days later they said it was Swine Flu . Looking back I bet they are rather embarassed as Swine Flu has proven to be so weak of a virus .

  • Lets all become vegans and the swine flu will be no more.

  • NO TRUE!

  • i had swine flu and it was pussy shit.. 103 temp trippin balls and coughing attacks puked once

  • how long did it last?

  • 3 days for the worst... but my throat was sore for like 5 days or more

  • I had no sore throat, not yet anyways we shall see

  • okay, I had high temp for 1 day only, next day it went away but I have strong cough, with little phlegm but the taste was disgusting, no nasal drainage, felt pain in muscles, 2 days later now I only have cough

  • Who is the bigger fool? The person who suggests we err on the side of caution, and ends up wrong.....or the person who dissuades caution based on "what they can tell" and they're wrong?

"We dont need to take any more precautions than we would with regular flu"?? Your assumptions are risking peoples lives my friend. Think about that.

  • Making assumptions that 2009 H1N1 is not as deadly as 1918 is like saying you know how the movie ends from watching the trailer. The population is much healthier in 2009 in the U.S than in 1918, but the population density is greater, commercial air travel did not exist and people seem ambivalent to what's going on..thus the spread, and inevitable mutation.

  • yes but not all people with swine flu may show symptoms

  • manscaping anyone?

  • Very true, alas, the h1n1 flu hit hard and spread fast in the first few days, causing many to panic about it. H1N1 2009 is still worry some but not nearly as much as it was upon outbreak.

  • You have a very good point, and I agree, it's little more deadly to a healthy person than regular influenza. However, you must agree that the enormous chunk of cash we've got in our military's kitty is obscene, and we could most definitely take at least some of that behemoth chunk, and bequeath it to the CDC, or really anything else.

  • I completely agree.

The exorbitant amount of money we have sitting in the defense budget is far in excess of what is necessary or what should be appropriately distributed to it.

We'd be far better off were we to shuffle that money around into agencies that need it more.

  • "We'd be far better off were we to shuffle that money around into agencies that need it more."

Until we have to fight 'a war'. But, since we're now officially all pacifists under Barry, that will no longer be the case.

    Luap Nor and all that.

  • I love watching your videos. No matter what the topic is, you can keep me interested, and I love it. :) You're so expressive with your hands when you talk!! :D I can't wait for more!!! <3

Oh, and I definitely agree with you on this. Swine Flu = Overrated.

  • TRILLIONS of dollars (that we don't have right now) to take care of something that is less lethal then Alcohol, Tobacco , or even less, lethal than seasonal flu.

    Marijuana! Legalize it!

  • I appreciate everyone, for the most part, being mature about the topic material.

    Thanks

  • Good response, however, I think the point that needs to be made is that governments need to re-assess the way they handle these issues. As stated, there are a lot of simple things we can do to stop the virus from spreading in the early stages.

Let's say flu virus X comes about tomorrow, this virus has the potential to kill millions or even billions, the lax nature to dismiss a virus in the early stages causes problems down the track, it's too late at that stage because it has spread too far.

  • this was a good video, and your points stand without flaw. But i think when thunderf00t was comparing the swine flu to the 1918 spanish flu, i think it was more to do with the potential that a pandemic has and an example of that potential.

i guess potentialy it could do even worse but the best thing to do is keep up immune systems, stay healthy, and keep good hygene.

i think if the virus is going to be epidemic then it will happen around winter this year. hav 2 wait n see. 5/5

  • You're really cute but you have got to stop waxing your brows.

  • Lol

    Thanks?

And trust me, tweezing is not something I should stop doing. :)

  • I think you misunderstood the rates Thunderf00t was referring to. The 25% vs. 100% difference he used was referring to the natural immunity that many people have to any given strain of seasonal flu versus the fact that nobody has natural immunity to swine flu.

  • Actually, he referred to natural immunity in that context, yes. However, that was the entire system under which he constructed the number system in regards to how many people get sick.

So, he assumed that since we have no natural immunity 100% of people will get sick. That's problematic.

  • Good video. I wonder what you think about this series of videos. watch?v=SbFxV_C8Yw4 . He claims that swine flu can not cross species, and the one humans have was injected(as in it is a conspiracy). Sadly, I know some people who are buying into it.

  • Great logical response as expected.

  • Why higher @ the school? It spreads by people coughing and sneazing, and other people catching this and then bringing it up to their mouth/nose.... Why is 100 people low when 10 people came to the school with it?

The thing is to react fast, and make these people not go out and infect other people and so on.... And thats what we have done and hopefully this wont be that big of a deal.

but what ur doing is good, be critical, but still most people need it to be "sensationalized" to react...

  • 100 people is low by the standards set forth by Thunderf00t. As he explained, every person the infected comes into contact with, they get it. So, you'd expect 10 people to pass it on to WAY more than just 90 people altogether. Especially considering the proximity at prayer, assemblies, and in classes.

    And thank you.

  • Ofcourse, agree. I was just talking in general and not specific about what thunderfoot layed out, which i shouldve mentioned, sry ;) Anyways, keep up the good work!

  • Thanks very much! I appreciate the support.

  • I completely agree. If the media sensationalism encourages people to be healthier and have better hygiene, so be it. But there are other ways to acheive that goal.

  • Pandemic status has nothing to do with mortality. Spanish flu infected 50% of world population. Given this the war argument is a joke.

  • You missed the point of me bringing up the war. The war was relevant because that was the reason it spread so immediately and powerfully. Young and usually strong men, sick and weak from war and malnutrition = VERY contagious. That coupled with them coming back and spreading it = Pandemic. I recognize this has nothing to do with mortality. But, mortality is certainly significant in assessing out response.

  • World War I was a very localized affair. The Spanish influenza reached every corner of the world even Oceania archipelagos. Your argument may be valid for world war I participants but not for the rest of the world. Thus its correctness is doubtful at best. If people relax prevention measures until it becomes deathlier then it will be too late. A measure of how alarming the response should be is the % of people that once it is exposed to the virus then incubate it and are able to pass it along.

  • World War I was semi-localized, yes. However, the soldiers that served were from all over the world. The war ended at the outbreak. So, they pick it up at war, and travel home with it.

  • contagion. Thus we are just at the initial pandemic stage and as Thunderf00t point out the most critical. The virus could turn just a bit more virulent and with a slight increase in the mortality rate (say 2%) and then you will see what chaos really is. For now the best strategy is to slow the spread of the virus (minimize sustained contagion) so scientist get a handle over it at least to develop a functional vaccine.

  • Great response Avi !!

  • Thanks man :)

  • People miss the point completely. Thunderf00t is right here. This virus is not a slight mutation of the seasonal flu. This is an animal virus that has evolved the ability to infect human cells and to spread from person to person by airbone particle spray. We lack natural immune response. You recognize in the video that it may mutate at any time so does the CDC and WHO. Fact is the virus is been subjected to new natural selection pressures by the human immune system in every sustained [cont]

  • Well said Avi

  • The swine flu will soon fade into obscurity just like the 1976 swine flu and the avian flu.

  • Have you seen the 1976 flu prevention shot ads? They're fucking hilarious.

But trust the media to blow everything out of proportion. It's their job, I guess.

  • Yes I have, and they are indeed hilarious.
